I understand it’s an MLM, but this is unacceptable…please tell me I’m not crazy here…Young Living rant inc
Sorry in advance if this is a bit wordy but this was a wild day…
Around 1:30am I got a notification from Young Living confirming my order. I obviously didn’t place an order and immediately went to my bank app and froze my credit card(thank god this is a thing btw). I went to the website and noticed an order was placed and being processed for shipping to an address that wasn’t mine. There were other orders that were initiated but didn’t process bc I locked my card thankfully. Clearly my YL account was hacked or they had a data breach. I haven’t used it in over a year. I called first thing in the morning to cancel the order since you can’t just cancel one on the website. I talked to the first rep for about 45 minutes and it was beyond frustrating.
They don’t have an order cancellation process. They only have an order refund process and she kept saying once I receive the order I can return and they will issue a refund…um how am I supposed to return an order that was fraudulently placed by some criminal on the other side of the country? I don’t think the rep was understanding what was really happening or was just reading a script which is more the case. Finally the rep said she would talk with the warehouse to hold the shipment. How we left the call…the rep would work with the warehouse to cancel and would call me back within 2 hours once everything was processed…ok fine I hung up.
Not really trusting the situation I called my bank and reported the fraudulent charge. They cancelled my card and reverted the charge.
About 2 hours passed and I received an email that the order shipped. Wtf…so I called back. Talked to a new person bc my account didn’t have any notes on it from the previous rep. Went through the whole explanation process again. This new rep was crazy clueless about fraud and what that meant I was on the phone with her for about 30 minutes and I’m not a Karen I was trying really hard to just be calm. I just couldn’t listen to this woman talk in circles so I requested to speak with someone else or a supervisor. I explained the whole thing for a 3rd time and got basically the same scripted response. I asked a question…”you’re ok shipping a fraudulent order to a person committing a crime against one of your customers?” He said that there is literally nothing they can de once an order has processed and the other orders on my account that were also attempted to be placed cannot be cancelled either.
He gave me some email address to send my claim to? Like I understand they are an MLM and I understand that MLMs make it nearly impossible to cancel orders but incases of actual fraud there should be some process in place especially if there is some data breach on there end. Am I crazy to think this was an insane interaction?
TLDR- someone hacked my YL account or there was a data breach and they refused to help fix it.

My 70yo MIL fell for amway
In an effort to get healthier, my mother in law joined an exercise class in the neighbourhood and it turned out to be AMWAY. They sold her this “bodykey” package to get healthier as there’s too much “viseral” fat in her body and to my horror, it cost so fking much and she’s so brainwashed by it, she had already spent thousands of her life savings to it ever since September 2023 when she joined the exercise class. my mother in law is uneducated and can’t even read simple English and she needs help even in even trying to read texts or she’ll just guess and freak out (its tiring). I’m not sure why, if it’s the diet plan or what, my mil’s breath has been smelling like 💀 even from miles away. She even took us to Amway’s den and we wasted a full day there listening to them talking about retiring at 29 and private planes all that “success stories”. I’m getting annoyed nowadays when she start telling us about amway. She’s deep in the cult and I don’t think she’ll get out until she’s broke.

BF of 3 years broke up with me for Amway
Hey guys, I’m absolutely heartbroken and I’m starting to doubt my own worth at this point. I didn’t know what Amway was, so I didn’t question that he was in it. He never tried to prospect me so I left it as is. But as time went on, he’d continue to ask me questions like:
Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years
Is your job going to give you the life you want?
And honestly, I do have my hopes and dreams, but I try to keep it realistic you know? I just want security and a partner who I know has my back through thick and thin. I don’t need a big fancy mansion or multiple luxury cars, I’m happy with what I have and I try to take each day as it comes. But he said that I don’t dream big enough, that if I “Aim for nothing, I get nothing”, and it made me feel small. Like I’m not trying hard enough in life. I was pretty down for a while, was it such a bad thing if I didn’t dream big enough?? Then one day he realized he wanted a partner that was 100% involved in the business. Meaning, I had to be an IBO, go around and get numbers, and conduct meetings. I was so upset that he waited until 3 YEARS into our relationship to decide that this was his non-negotiable. If I didn’t do it, he was ready to break up with me, DESPITE the fact that he still loved and cared for me so much. I'm also currently a college student so there's no way I can afford those membership fees!
Anyways, he decided to break it off and stay single for the next 4 months while he focuses on building the business to qualify for a function that he needs to be “double eagle ruby” for (I think that’s the rank?). And also to take the time to figure out what he truly wants in a future spouse. Then he’d get back to me at the end of the 4 months to see if we can potentially get back together again if our values lined up. I really can’t understand why we can’t just stay in the relationship while he continues to work on himself. He also mentions that we’ve been “growing in different directions and not together” a lot.
3 years is a long time, I just can't believe he'd be willing to throw all those years down the drain so easily. I've been struggling to cope, I just lost a best friend.

Because real people who have achieved real success, who also go out of their way to help you outside of Amway, is ultimately how they trap you into their cult. I don’t hate amway, or love or hate the haters, I just wish I didn’t waste my time. To learn the tactics they used against me make my heart hurt and I cry very frequently about the betrayal in my heart. Know that I even lost my girlfriend and her family because of this. I am hurt that my friends would betray me, but you live and you learn I guess. My message to you share my story. Get this out there. More people need to see that I understand why they’re in Amway, and because of that, and now owning a traditional business that produces the exact same thing IBOs want, I want them to know there are other ways to do it. I don’t know what could work for them. But I don’t know what it’s like to be psychologically manipulated as heavily as they are. And know what it’s like to be on the brink of “aliven’t ing” yourself because of it. There are other ways, friends. Let’s stop this evil cult from exploiting more people

Husband Scouted by Man-Hun
My husband (M) works for a department of our city government and works out at the employee only gym fairly often. Last weekend he met a ManHun FOR THE FIRST TIME, who works for a different city department. ManHun trapped M while M was mid-workout. ManHun then mentioned a sports nutrition “side hustle” he’s doing to pay off his house and “replace his wife’s $80,000 a year income”. Thanks to my love of sharing this sub-Reddit, M knew to avoid asking any questions.
Y’ALL. This ManHun stopped by M’s work yesterday to see if he wanted to know more about this opportunity. Luckily M was out…but the ManHun struck again at the city employee gym today!
ManHunt said he wants to know if M has been thinking about the side-hustle he mentioned. ManHun said he loves his job but “just wants to get more out of life” and can retire his spouse with this amazing opportunity. ManHun told M that he has a great team that he’d love to introduce. 🤮

Does everyone “win” a prize?
I made a mistake- I know I know!
My aunt hosted a virtual Pampered Chef party this past week. My SIL and I both bought something knowing it’s a MLM, my aunt is one of the nicest people and I just didn’t have the heart to tell her how bad PC/MLMs are. I wanted to show her support because she was so excited and she supports my small business (craft business) that I have, comes to all my shows, etc.
My SIL received two texts from the rep claiming she won the prize of the party - her friend received the same text a few days prior. The prize is an ecookbook and you’re able to “win” more if they host a party LOL
I received one text so far from the rep and am so curious to know if/when I’ll receive the prize text
Is this a common tactic they use on people? Seems so slimy to me!

6 years later, MLM VP shows up in friend requests
About 6 years ago my husband and I went to Vegas for his job for a reward ceremony. I was walking back to our room on my own since he had some meetings, and got stopped on the elevator by a woman who said she was the "executive regional manager" of Arbonne. She started asking me my name (I gave her a fake one because Vegas and approaching strangers.) And questions that I gave vague answers to and said she thought I'd be perfect for her company. Y'know, the standard script.
I politely declined the offer because it reminded me of Avon and what my mom went through with that.
Fast forward to today, she pops up in my friend requests on social media.
I never gave her any information. I have no mutuals. Yet she's found me. I find it very hard to believe this is a coincidence.
Has anyone else ever had this or something similar happen?

What is your craziest MLM- related story?
Here is mine: I have two chronic illnesses and was on a plane going home. This Asea Redox hun was feeding me all of this crap about how their drink could seriously help me with my conditions. I believed her and bought an expensive bottle of water with a few drops of alcohol. No, it did not help me.

Can I still leave?
So I’ve trusted a friend on his word, and was doing my meetings and reading the known “Rich dad poor dad” now I’ve agreed to “joining the team” however I started doing research about anyway and found out it was an MLM, they wanted me to buy my starter kit which I didn’t do yet as I though €270 was ridiculous for home supplies for one month. Question is though: can I just leave because they had a paper that I filled in which said “do you agree on a 5 year agreement” which I stated as yes, however didn’t put my signature on.

Just Got Out Of Scamway
I was in Amway and just recently got out. I’ll keep this short. Also try to be understanding as I am young and impressionable so the thought of the opportunity to be rich with minimal effort made me hop on board so quickly. I want to give some insight as to my experiences and maybe get you to understand why people so easily fall for it as I was just in the organization. My “Mentors” or so they call them. Were already rich outside of Amway, they owned multiple traditional businesses and were incredibly humble with their money. They were millionaires but drove base model vehicles lived in humble houses and tipped very well at restaurants even without buying food. They literally each left like a 100 dollar bill on the table when we had a “Meeting.” Whether it was to put on a facade, Idk, but I do know they all had a ton of money given their offices in huge corporate buildings. One of my “Mentors” even built the organization to 7500”pv” I think they call it. I’m just 11 months. Which is astronomically unlikely. That said, It’s easy for someone like me to see that and instantly come on board as this is an amazing opportunity to learn from rich people how to get rich. Which to a degree in hindsight, is a very valid point. Who wouldn’t see something like that, who is in a desperate situation, and hop on board? Of course knowing what I know now I wouldn’t do that again, but still. It’s easy to understand how desperate people fall for it given the factors above. Anyone that told me otherwise I thought was just wrong because literal millionaires are endorsing this organization so of course I didn’t believe friends and family when they told me things. I am naturally a socially awkward person too scared to talk to anyone let alone get a follower or 2 and customers so fundamentally a business like this wouldn’t work even if I wanted it to. Every session was composed of hilarious people, with great self esteems who were all devout christians, me being open minded actually gave what they said a shot and I actually improved some skills so that brings me to my reasons as to why I stayed for as long as I did. My people skills started improving, I started making more friends, my confidence talking to girls we up, I started reading a ton of books, I became productive, I became likable at work with employees and customers, my mentors helped me manage my finances and escape debt organically, I had a healthier relationship with religion, I was happier, I was friends with millionaires, they helped me start my own business outside of Amway, things were actually up in life. For once I had a purpose again. That’s how they brainwash you guys. They don’t just “explain” your life getting better. They actually help you make your life better, THATS how they do it. THATS why people are so brainwashed. They make you feel like you’re a king with purpose again. Which is sad now knowing it was all manufactured. Which strengthens the blow of betrayal. Understand that you can’t change a brainwashed amway distributor because all of those examples listed are how they exactly brainwash you. Even my employer at the time was a platinum in his Amway group. It’s more than just basic tactics guys. Your life might actually improve in some areas. But bare in mind, it’s at the cost of entrapment. Emotionally, financially, mentally, and psychologically. They essentially kidnap you by holding you on lock. Making you feel that if you leave, you’re letting the whole world down. I worked the business my “Friends” and “Mentors” helped me build and thankfully it did pretty well for the time. And understand that I am grateful they helped me, maybe that was just my team, and to this day I am still friends with a few of the non successful “IBOs” and am currently working to unbrainwash those guys and just start a normal business if they care so much about becoming an entrepreneur. Understand guys that if you’re going to save people like me from a predatory organization ization, you should at least understand why that person is as brainwashed as they are.
This “tupperware party” group chat I’m in is so sad.

The time I got pitched an "Opportunity".
Hello Everyone,
I would like to talk about the time I got pitched a "opportunity", so In April 2020 I got pitched to join Herbalife Nutrition on Instagram and I still have the message to this day. This women told me to join it and then disclosed about how she's able to work from home and being able to spend time at home with her children. She mentioned that we should meet up at Cafe Nero in Oxford Street, London UK.

I said ain't they a scam or ponzi scheme or something along the lines of that and then she started to talk how about they're the best thing since slice bread. If you want me to do a part two then let me know and I'll provide screenshots and possible screen record video of the audio clip.

**UPDATE**
She's deleted/deactivated her account and the content/messages are still there but I've typed her name into an alt-account I can confirm her account is now deleted. I hope that she's realized that its a scam and I hope she's left the MLM world.
I knew not to join after watching Savanna-Marie (Mommy Tsunami) talk about various of MLM's such as Herbalife, Black Oxygen Organics (BOO) and Diamond MLM Painting (Can't remember the name) but yeah If It wasn't for Savanna and iilluminatii then I would've probably joined.

But yes, that's my story of how I nearly joined a MLM.
