The bossbabes are unhinged. This influencer posted a light hearted video saying that if you’re in an MLM, don’t try her lol and apparently the bossbabes came for her. Which promoted this response…

Levarti, the newest travel MLM

I’ve seen a lot of people on TikTok that were once in Tranzact/Finmore move over to Levarti. I looked them up, and even the BehindTheMLM website covered them. It appears Levarti started before the whole Tranzact/Finmore collapse back last summer and a few people then seemed to be shilling it at that time, but it’s seemingly become a more popular MLM to turn to.

My recent fun with a scentsy hun.

One thing I hate more than anything is seeing mlm huns at a craft fair. Last Saturday my husband and I attended one in our city and what do you know, there was a scentsy tent. When I saw it I told my husband "watch this." For context he is very well educated on mlms because of me.

My conversation with this hun:

Me - "wow, what adorable warmers, did you take a pottery class?"
Hun - "no"
Me - "oh, so you're self taught? That's awesome. Do you have a kiln in your home or do you use a studio here in town?"
Hun - "whats a kiln?"
Me - (forced blank look) "I'm assuming by your question you didn't make these warmers yourself."
Hun - "no they are made for me to sell."
Me - "oh, so you have employees who make them for you? How nice."
Hun - "well no, I order them from scentsy to sell."
Me - "I'm confused, I thought scentsy was a name you came up with for your business, I thought it was really cute. So what about these wax melts, did you at least make those yourself."
Hun - "no, I order them as well."
Me - " oh well never mind, we are here to buy one of a kind, hand crafted items. If we wanted something mass produced we would go to Walmart."

Walking away my husband was chuckling saying "well that was fun."

Inviting competition should be a red flag (how do they not see it?)

It boggles the mind that all this recruitment is still going on across the various MLMs.

Like, if I opened a hairdresser, would I be posting on social media asking people to open their own hairdresser 'biz' and invite competition???

Obviously they want to build their downline, but why isn't anyone joining asking "she is selling these products, why does she want more distributors and competition with her?"

LMAO

anyone from your high school, to the guy shopping at Target. All it takes it one quick conversation and YOU could be a millionaire! Of course, all of their missionary training helped them know how to break the ice, hit the right notes, and move to conversion.

Got duped by genistar. Beware!!!!

I already got sucked in this so called company, that denied a few times they’re an MLM after being questioned by me.

Sad to say but I lost £99 entry fee to these frauds. They told me this money is for my DBS check but as it turned out that money was paid into a genistar account. How can a dbs be completed in as little as 4 min?? I literally paid the fee and my so called acceptance into the company was announced via an email. When did they screen me for any crimes, violations of law or money laundering. What a lot of bs!!

I feel angry for being so easily duped. Never have I ever been a victim to scammers but I guess they’re a first time for everything.

I was promised training and pay of £500 a month for the first month despite not generating any income.

I have only paid the “DBS” and have soon realised I’ve been scammed. Now the woman who was supposed to train me doesn’t have the courtesy to even ring me up and commence my training.

Of course, I will not proceed with the so called training but am afraid of what if they try and make me pay for other things. Can they legally demand money off of me now that am in the system but refuse to continue participating.

Thank you for your responses!

Things Amway > T1G > TVU don't want you to know PART 16 CONTROLLING YOUR SOCIALS

So the TVU huns wanted to control who people had on social media 🥲...

Reason being is they want to prevent "crosslining" because crosslining leads to people quitting after finding out the truth.

For example:
If you were "launched" by Susan then Susan is your upline and you are her downline.
If I am also "launched" by Susan, then that makes you my crossline.
Now Susan doesn't want me to talk to you because she might be treating me differently to you and that may break down the "business relationship" if you found out, and vice versa. So I can't be your friend, I can't add you on socials and I can't talk "business" with you either.

Back to TVU tactics ➡️ so anyways us young people's were adding eachother in social media making friends, finding significant others, some were smashing and all the other normal human shenanigans. Because of this, people were talking to eachother and finding out the TVU huns BULLSHIT and quitting HARD😆 so to apply "damage control", the tvu leaders told everyone they need to unfollow all the crosslines on insta/FB/Snapchat etc asap. Some people didn't see the point in this and then got THREATENED that their "mentors" would withhold their "mentorship" if they didn't unfollow their crosslines.... it was fked

Anyways, Team Victory United created a private instagram page (not hard to find at all) so that these young peeps can be posted in this TVU page and see their crosslines, but not be following them...

Can you imagine the effort to freakin orchestrate this ffs ..

What is this strange parallel between Religious affiliations & MLM’s?

So my sister who has 3 children and is a stay at home mother used to be a LulaRoe rep, though her “business” is temporarily closed now. She home schools her kids, and is all about this mama’s thing that’s centered around Jesus and stuff. She grew up going to church but was never like an obsessive or super religious person until later on in life (seemingly) after having children. She used to work a retail job years ago but ever since LuLaRoe and now this weird mothers group…idk it’s so hard to explain but I’m annoyed to no end yet fascinated how things like this happen. Is the need to be in a “group” so to speak, this powerful? I fear that when her kids grow up they will have so much confusion and “undoing” to go through. I see it as damaging but she sees it as nourishing. Any thoughts?

Understanding the Utah Hun

I wrote a long ass comment that kind of was a tangent to what the OP was asking, so now I'm adding this as a post:

I'm from Utah. Here is what I've read, seen, and experienced about why MLM's are so common in Utah. Let me start from a particular perspective: the Utah hun. Why? Because women make up the majority of MLMers (75% women vs 25% men).

The top thing you must understand is that Utah is dominated by Mormon culture. I'm not even talking about their status in 'the church' (how people in Utah refer to the LDS church). I'm talking about a pressure to have a family young, be a single-income household, and the mother takes care of the children. It's normal to see families with 4+ kids here. I grew up near a family with 12 kids!

This means that instead of graduating college or using their college degree, they are getting straight to making babies. There is even a joke at BYU about women only going to get their Mrs. degree.

This plays out in a couple of ways. The first is that a big reason why a lot of MLMers are women is because they want to find a way to contribute to household expenses while being a full-time mom. They want some play money, or feel like they are making it easier on the family overall.

The second is that being a mom means losing some of their identity. Often, they are no longer referred to by themselves out in public, but rather "so-and-so's wife" or "child's name's mom." A community filled with other like-minded women is very attractive because they can have a piece of their identity back. This is also a piece of why Utah has so many influencers.

The third is the divorced mom. Let's say one of these women who got married at 19 are now 3-10 years down the line. They never finished college. They didn't further a career. They find themselves now on a single income and 60+ hours at Walmart isn't going to cut it. Suddenly someone comes along and tells them they are special, ambitious, and can make enough money that they can retire in 5 years if all they do is sacrifice for that short period. This is the one that I've seen personally.

Last, the reason why Utah is the Mecca of MLM's is because the church provides a breeding ground for people who can be rejected over and over again while selling something people don't want. Active members go on missions at 18 for men, and 19 for women. They are taught to knock on doors, talk to strangers, and tell anyone who will listen about their beliefs. The church also teaches at a young age not to question teachings/authorities. That combination creates the perfect victim.

I'll add a small note here too - Utah has a very strong middle-class with a lot of disposable income. That, in my experience, has been mostly who I've seen participate in MLMs.

\----

So WHO are they selling to?

Number one is THEMSELVES. The biggest lie about any MLM is that it's about the product. It's not. Full-stop. If it was, then they wouldn't be recruiting people under them.

MLM's all have a personal/business quota they need to hit to keep their status. Most people will spend their own money in order to keep status. The money comes from their regular day job, a loan from family/friends, or a spouse's income.

When they first start, they will sell to family. Mormon culture is HUGE on family. Helping your family is engrained into us at a young age. That means even if your parents are a piece of shit, you'll feel guilty for not helping them. Now imagine your sibling telling you "I'm going to be rich and buy you cars!" You might not believe the claim, but what's $20 bucks every other month or so?

Next is their community circle. The LDS church is community based. Active members of the church might have anywhere from 100-300 people (probably more?) just within their boundaries. You are expected to 'minister' to people within these boundaries, and help out when requested. Because it's a high-demand religion, you are spending multiple days a week with these families. These are easy early targets on their journey.

The last one is strangers. This can be
