FermaGlo founder (former Monat boss) Toni Vanschoyck) having complete meltdown today

Her angry Facebook post today:

"We are entering into a new era. Do you know the struggles and bullshit we have faced?

We have products and services NO ONE else has. NADA!

How about the people that ripped us off and called us friends and said they were are ride or dies and then abandoned us? How about the really good bad actors that soaked us for tens of thousands of dollars? How about companies that used us and threw us away?

The list is long but you know what fuck you and we are still standing. I promise there will be regrets so keep watching. I can't wait....Stay tuned haters and users. I am so excited for our future."

I feel terrible for my parents after my Uncle claims to have “made it” from working at an MLM.

My parents and I just had dinner at my aunt and uncles new multimillion dollar house. I noticed that my parents were really quiet and more reserved than usual, but didn’t think much of it. My Aunt and Uncle are so nice, but they were almost boasting when showing their never ending guest rooms, backyard pool, garden, etc. they also said some things like “our big opportunity made this all possible,” and “we are so grateful for our network” it felt really weird to me.

My aunt and uncle for context have 8 kids, and they had lived in a smaller house all their life before buying this new one about a year ago. My uncle invested in something that just became a huge asset to him. It really felt like overnight they made huge money. My parents are hardworking individuals with corporate jobs and degrees and I lived a comfy childhood. We were pretty middle-high class I think.

After, my mom told me that years ago my aunt and uncle were involved in Cutco, Doterra, Young Living, and Melaleuca. I had no idea. (I should’ve guessed it though, I made a post in here a couple years ago about my Grandma putting Young Living oils in her eyeballs, the MLM hustle is strong in this family) She continued on that they struggled a ton and would beg my parents to buy or go through them for things they needed. My mom said that she did feel bad, and would sometimes either buy the cheapest thing, or would donate money to them. She did say she knew it was an MLM, but they were family and my Mom has a big heart. They had 8 kids to take care of and I guess falling behind on their groceries and mortgage. This was going on for about two decades.

Now fast forward to today, I can see that my Mom is quiet around my aunt and my Dad has been going through a tiny midlife crisis. He’s been talking about trying out a new startup company (I looked into it, not an MLM) and they both are talking like they don’t have enough money. I’m a finance major and have seen my parents income and retirement, I know they are very well off.

My point is, I love my parents and it’s weird seeing family that begged you for money suddenly become multimillionaires without any sort of gratitude or humility. I’m glad they don’t struggle anymore, but the bragging has been overbearing especially with this new info about them claiming that the MLM helped them, not the family support or the investment. Some of my cousins have also reached out to me and my spouse about a “really great opportunity.” I can see that it’s taking a huge toll on my parents, is there anything I can do? Has anyone ever dealt with this?

Why has Bravenly has repeatedly failed to move into Canada?

Bravenly announced not long ago that they plan to expand into Canada, but did you know this isn't the first time they've tried this? This will be their third attempt. Check this link announcing their second effort three years ago - note that this announcement indicates "within weeks", not a precursor to the current effort:

https://www.reddit.com/r/antiMLM/comments/119l081/bravenly\_is\_expanding\_to\_canada\_tabarnak\_although/

The first time was not long after Bravenly launched in the USA, not even a year after their initial launch if I remember correctly. I don't have a link for that one, it was barely mentioned and never spoken of again until the second launch attempt.

If you visit Bravenly Global today you won't find any mention or link about Canada, or Australia which is another country they plan to infest. I don't want to give a link here because that could be misconstrued as supporting an MLM, but if you search for "bravenly" and "international" you'll find a separate Bravenly domain with information on both their Australian "prelaunch" and their upcoming July 1 Canadian launch.

Note that selecting the Australian banner gives you access to some stock promotional images followed by Price List, Breakthrough Guide, and Compensation Plan. Clicking on the Canadian banner gives you a few Valentine's Day promotional images and absolutely zero information. Yet Bravenly claims to be expanding into Canada in just a couple of weeks. Why don't they want their Canadian reps to be prepared?

I think the answer may be that Canada has laws that make it difficult for ANY supplement MLM to exist in the country. The Canadian government provides a page that explains what must be done to produce and/or import supplements, and it's a lot tougher than in the USA by far:
https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health-products/natural-non-prescription/regulation.html

In short an MLM would require a "Site Licence" and be a "Foreign Site Reference Number Holder":

>The site licence holder list indicates sites that have been authorized to manufacture, package, label and/or import natural health products by Health Canada.

>FSRNs are issued to sites outside of Canada which manufacture, package and/or label in accordance with the applicable sections of Part 3 Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) of the Natural Health Products Regulations (NHPR). The intent of the FSRN is to eliminate the need for the foreign site is to provide the same GMP evidence multiple times to support each importer's site licence.

There's also a link on the Canadian page I linked above where you can learn about this licensing and check the validity of a FSRN holder. Bravenly Canada Enterprises does have a valid and active FSRN, but Bravenly themselves don't appear to have any manufacturing facility of their own in Canada. Instead, going by the address on their FSRN listing, they are in bed with a company who does: "The Reena Group".

The Reena Group seems to be fully licensed in Canada to produce supplements at their site(s), and they provide this manufacturing as a service to foreign clients. But that's just one way supplements can be sold in Canada. The other way is obtaining licensing necessary to allow the importation of foreign substances, which is a service Reena also provides. They've been around for 40 years, according to their website. They explain the service here:
https://mcs-associates.com/exporting-to-canada/

I'm not sure how Bravenly tried to launch in Canada in the past, but it seems pretty likely that the services of a company like Reena are not cheap. Keep in mind, Bravenly is run out of a rented storage unit in Seminole Florida, the address is on their home page. This is the same kind of storage unit you

My friend's dad is a MLM Fraudster and he can't help but brag about how his dad has worked 'hard and honestly' all his life to make that money

So I have this friend called S and he always likes to brag about how much his Dad earns and how all of that is 'white money'

He told me his Dad is a big businessman and works very hard to earn loads of money, His Dad always seemed like a humble and respectable man so I bought into it

I never researched anything about what his Dad does but I did know the company name, One day S came and started bragging about his new purchases like his Dad gifted him a BMW worth nearly 1 crore Rupees on his 19th Birthday, he also talked about his expensive watch collection and shoe collection

One day I decided to research about his company and it turned out to be a freaking MLM!

so his Dad is basically a universal crown boss (not lying, that's what his actual post is LMAOO) in a big MLM

After learning about how MLM operates, I was surprised by many things

Why isn't MLM being banned? Why is such an exploitative scheme where more than 99% lose money and just 1% make the most money being allowed to run?

I can't believe that we have predators and predatory practices like MLMs not just running but flourishing

I lost all respect for S and his 'hardworking' Dad, they are the ones who are the leeches of society

Not every 'rich' person has reached there though hard work and sacrifices, so many of them have attained wealth by exploiting and scamming others just like S's Dad and S has the nerve to talk about 'money earned through hard work' lol

My experience of getting duped into attending Amway "leadership seminar", and I probably need help to get my friend out of that circle.

It's a rather long read... so, strap in.

Last friday, my friend asked me to substitute her for "leadership seminar" on saturday because of her work and she only able to attend on sunday session. I was free on saturday, so I thought, "well, why not". She said, she'd gave my phone number to her mentor as my bridge to attended that seminar. I was a bit puzzled that she mentioned "mentor", but alright.

Saturday

Then saturday came and I went to that seminar. I was introduced to a husband and wife. They asked me if I knew what seminar is this. I said "no", then the wife said "this is leadership seminar sponsored by Amway". I suddenly had a realization that I accidentally got myself into MLM seminar, and her so called mentors are her upline. Thinking it was rude if I left right away, I sat to what I thought, a horseshit of 3 hours slog. It even had 2nd session. While they clearly trying to build a "positive only vibes" during that seminar, I felt off and rather uncomfortable doing the whole clap and jump shticks. Well, some speakers had some good points on life and business tips, albeit a generic one, the ones that you can find on google and what usually youtube creators said, not something worth a $60 ticket. But many were cringe inducing. One of the main speaker showed his holiday photos, ski trip resort holiday, and ship cruises while calling it "a classy holiday" like to show the audiences it was their 4 years of hard work. I'm sure it was because they trapped so many people into their fold and leeched others off their sales commissions.

So after session break, I said I got something to do that if I delay, I need to wait until monday. But before I leave, I expect they will try to pitch me their schemes. And a pitch they did. For now, I've successfully avoid joining them by saying, "this is not a small step, and if this is as big step as the speakers said, I need time to think about it". I asked the husband if I joined, can I just put the products on e-commerce and be done with it. He said what I interpret as "no, you need to get out and doing a direct selling". yeah, nah. fk that.

Before I leave, the wife said she had free ticket on sunday because her mom got sick and cannot attend sunday session, hence free ticket. Out of curiosity and full knowledge what I'm getting into, I accepted that ticket (not my money, so why not?)

Sunday

Then sunday came and I attended that seminar again. I probably had more interest on the sound and camera crew works than the whole 3 hours seminar. Again, the "motivations" all are generic and very easily found on google. They use jargon like "financial freedom", "build your own business", using MLM ranks like diamond and platinum while showing their holiday photos abroad. I even cringed at one point when one of main speaker at one time she use analogy of cheetah and gazelle. While some of the facts were right, like a cheetah is only good at short range sprint and gazelle has higher chance of survival if they could outrun cheetah for 500 meter, this one particular quote made my inner NatGeo watcher wanted to scream. She said, and I quote, "gazelle only get caught by cheetah because they are running while looking back. So don't look back and keep running forward to achieve your dreams!" and whole auditorium clapped and whistled. I wanted to scream, "NO MA'AM! CHEETAH COULD CAUGHT GAZELLE BECAUSE THEY ARE A GOOD AMBUSHER THANKS TO THEIR FUR PATTERN AND THEY COULD GET CLOSED IN TO A GAZELLE UP TO 50 METERS BEFORE LAUNCHING A SURPRISE ATTACK!", but okay I held it in. Hey, at least I got some interesting insight from one of the speaker. He is in mining industry and I got insight on how mining process works, from surveying, scanning, lab test, extraction, and shipment.

Then the seminar ended on what I think as "the most disgusting display of leechers" by calling all diamonds, emeralds, and platinums founders into the stage and got a one minute

How do i convince my father WSB is a MLM

My retired 68yo father told me he bought a life insurance policy for my mom and he is starting talking the courses at WSB.

He is convinced it’s legit and that he can make up to $20k per month somehow. He is unable to even really explain what it is he will be doing outside of recruiting other people.

He has already fell victim to an investing scam 2 years ago and lost $60k and i’m worried this will be the same thing.

Navigating friendship with MLMer

A friend of mine inside my close social circle just left her corporate job to be a full-time Optavia hun. I was supportive at first, but then actually researched it and was horrified by the program. I am a health and wellness nut and have been in the bodybuilding community for 15+ years and was formerly a division 1 athlete so my preferred approach has always been macro-tracking, higher protein diets and strength training. Many friends have come to me over the years to better understand macro tracking or how to lift so I started a small side practice just helping friends and family. I don’t even use it to make money- I have them pay me monthly and then if they stick to it for 6 months and check in every week, I give them their money back. I just genuinely want my friends to feel their best! Anyway, this friend is now hitting up all the ladies in our circle and I’m having a hard time keeping my mouth shut about the risks and I worry about my friends being gaslighted into this program that I believe is wildly unhealthy. It’d be one thing if it was just shilling HerbaLife or whatever, but I truly believe this program to be dangerous. Anyone been in this situation? Suggestions on how to handle?

might get if you're between houses and need a place to keep your furniture, not an actual warehouse. It doesn't exactly scream "big company". I would hope that the previous times Bravenly tried to expand into Canada were after first reviewing and understanding the requirements of Canadian law and attempting to comply with those laws, and not just trying to FedEx boxes of supplements to a supplier "hun" based in Ontario. We'll just have to see how it goes this time, now that FOR SURE they can afford the services of Reena Group!

How to convince anti-mlm friend CutCo is an mlm?

A very close friend of mine recently got laid off and has convinced her husband to start selling Cutco—something she did in high school— to help them make ends meet. They have both been job hunting for a while, he works part time as an artist and makes a decent living in it, but certainly needs supplemental income, especially now that his wife is fully out of work. I’ve tried to be kind and polite about it, and trying to offer constructive options instead of just shitting on the option they are taking out of desperation, but i feel like I’m running out of options. They are CONVINCED it is not an mlm, and that the direct sales tactics are not shady. Even though she said herself that she almost didn’t break even after she became a manager!!

Anyone have any advice on how to help them see the light?? Or have any Cutco horror stories i could pass along? They are anti-mlm but totally convinced this one is not that.

What really bums me out is the last time we saw them at a large friend group hang, the whole hang turned into HOURS AND HOURS of them talking about these stupid knives and totally dominated our time together. They seemed almost angry none of us were willing to invest in these overpriced knives!! They’ve only just been hooked and already i miss my friends :(

standing applause. What a horsepoop of so called "leadership seminar".

Concern For My Friend

Back to my friend who asked me to sub her on saturday, after whole thing ended, she talked a bit with the family I mentioned before. I think she is just innocent about whole thing. For example, when I asked about if this is her first MLM, she corrected me with "it's not MLM, it's a networking". Okay, Amway is clearly her first.

Then I took her for dinner. I don't want to be judgmental and confronting what she did because I learned that hard way years ago with other friend I lost over MLM. I knew she was given task of making list on names, doing 15 presentations and recruiting 4 people from her "mentor". I only told her that she has to be ready for some of her friends avoiding her and if she wanted to do a presentation, at least be honest about the intention of calling her friends, not "hey, let's meetup, we haven't seen each other for long time", which really could break friendships. She just nods.

Now, I want to help her out of the mess she's getting into by making her realized she had stepped on a quagmire. But I don't want to make it like I told her to quit. I want to just nudge her into realization and she took decision herself, before she sink too deep. From what I've seen, she is probably in calf deep. Any tips on that?

There’s a new version of MLM’s, and my mom lost $30,000.

MLM 2.0’s don’t even have a physical product. We’ve all seen the “learn how to drop ship” ads that promise huge money, just pay to learn how, and this is similar, but worse. Using AI targeted ads, these people will set up a website for you for drop shipping. The thing is, they don’t set anything up, the people you’re talking to are making their money from recruiting you. I’m not entirely sure on every detail, my mom is a bit of a closed book, but she got a targeted ad that allows you to basically join their team to profit off of AI algorithms and the social media ads. She paid to become a part of it, everything supposedly included, cost $10,000 with guaranteed growth within 6 months, only to be told after signing her life away to the mlm, she had to set up the instagram herself, grow her following, pay for her shop app website, pay for her ad space, pay for everything from start to finish. They basically gave her access to a pre-made marketplace for her shop.. which is literally what alibaba, except alibaba is free. They continue to charge you for higher tier access and meetings with their supervisors, supervisor etc. basically you meet via zoom with the leader of the down line. Now they told her if she wants to recoup her $29,000 that she borrowed, she can recruit others to join the opportunity. I do not know the name of this company, she is so not tech savvy she’s telling people she “invested in AI websites”. The second I heard this 6 months ago, I’ve been checking in regularly and telling her not to send any more money.. she admitted today that it wasn’t $10k, but triple and that her “investment backfired”
There is no way she will ever sell false dreams to unsuspecting victims, so she will just repay the mistake over the next couple years. Her primary expense is her large dog rescue with over 100 dogs, and I know she just wanted more revenue streams to cover those expenses, as she’s always in the red with a non-profit. She fell for a terrible MLM & will be repaying that cost for quite a few years and hopefully the rescue will not suffer for it. This MLM is almost worse, as there is no physical product to sell, just smoke and mirrors. Based on the zoom call, there are 16 people on her “team”
That’s one team of who knows how many. If I get more details I will update my post.

Questions to help someone come to the realization they're in an MLM?

I was hanging out with a friend and she mentioned being really excited about her new job. I started hearing some red flags but figured I just listen to too many cult podcasts. Until my wife also became suspicious. I asked for the name of the company, Stand for the Silent. Searched it up and the link immediately underneath it was a post accusing them of sketchy behavior.

I've been trying to get a few articles together about their lies and other suspicious behavior but I really want to go about helping her in the right way. From what I've read on this sub so far, it seems best to gently help her come to the conclusion she's in an MLM on her own. What are some specific questions I can ask? Especially about buisness practices because I dont know much about how it works. I was able to figure out how to read the 990 form but I don't know what it all means.
