As some MLMs suddenly give up the pyramid scheme or shut down entirely, you can expect another, (Bravenly), to come for the ones who have’t yet figured out that MLM is a scam.

Herbalife community
I didn’t realize I was in an MLM until years later
Back in 2015, a friend invited me to a fitness bootcamp. She had lost a lot of weight, and after each workout, we’d get these tasty shakes. I loved them and started ordering through her. Eventually, I signed up — mainly for the discount. I didn’t even know what MLMs were back then.
The bootcamp was run by Herbalife “coaches” who gave motivational talks and shared personal success stories. It felt more like a lifestyle or a family than just a workout group. The energy was so positive, and I genuinely felt good being part of it.
One day I was scrolling online trying to learn more about the company and success stories, when I saw articles questioning the health impact of the products and the business model. When I brought it up, I was told to “trust the process” and that my skepticism was the issue — not the company. That moment opened my eyes.
I wasn’t deep in it, and eventually I left, but looking back, I now understand how people — even smart, skeptical ones — get pulled in. When doubt is treated like disloyalty, it’s easier to believe you are the problem, not the system.

Craft show season
It's getting to be that time of year again, fall/winter craft shows. I'm hesitant to attend because many of those are filled with MLM tables and booths. There is only one in my area that doesn't allow it. It's very popular and crowded. I guess I'll go early and skip the others.

You're not losing money, you're aligning with the MLM Pyramid Scheme! So don't listen to the ‘naysayers,’ they're not ‘business owners’ like us! Don't rest! Worship the CEO/founder, read this ‘must read,’ & you'll be a multi millionaire in no time!

Experience with NASB
I joined NASB the beginning of the year, looking for a change in career. At first, I really did enjoy selling policies. I happened to be good at it. And then of course the ugly happened these people don’t tell you how much it is to start up. I “invested” in myself & bought everything they wanted to me to buy, iPad, Apple Pencil, leads, courses, apps that costs hundreds of dollars a month, etc etc. I would have weeks where I made 5-6k, because of the 9month advance you get from carriers. HOWEVER what they don’t tell you is the chargebacks. Every month I was paying nearly 4k a month just for the debt! $1500 a WEEK for leads that have been reused over and over, plus gas & maintenance on my car (you drive ALOT), coffee culture events that were out of town, I mean you NAME IT. Everything is out of pocket. I damn near lost EVERYTHING. Actually, I did ended up having one of my cars repoed because I was paying roughly almost 10k a month with them plus my bills. It ruined me financially, also my credit. Even after leaving, any charge backs fall on me, which I can’t pay because I’m still rebuilding myself from the damage that caused me. Not only that nobody talks about the MENTAL damage. They encourage you to push push push, push through the pain. Wave a gold carrot in your face, showing the trips the partners in the company take every day while they yell at you on the phone every morning telling your that your not doing enough, it’s not that they care it’s because YOUR the reason they can live lavishly. They brag about making $2.5 million a year. They make that because you sacrifice your time, your freedom. They try to sell you the job by saying you get freedom because you can work whenever you want, trust me yall that is a LIE. You want to be good at it? You’re working from 9AM-11PM most days! If your out for a couple days they make you feel bad about it because “your not doing enough, we don’t work part time” blah blah blah THE LIST GOES ON. They try to motivate you by giving you these weak ass motivational quotes that make no sense what so ever, they are ALWAYS in left field. They remind me of those FOREX people with their conferences & motivational “talks”, It does take a toll on you mentally because your going to a stranger home they don’t KNOW you, you can easily be HARMED. I know agents who had literal guns pulled out on them. You have no idea who’s door your knocking on & what’s going on in there. I’ve seen the NASTIEST houses that can take a toll on your mental too. It’s not worth it guys. LEARN from my mistakes.

Dot dot smile???
Okay I’m very late and confused
Few years ago i bought a bunch of DDS dresses from this lady on Facebook. I went to her house and shopped a room in her house full of these dresses. I bought a bunch and loved them!!! I actually looked into it very briefly and lightly on how to wholesale and how she makes a living off of it and inspired me to maybe do the same one day.
I then remember hearing like a year later they shut down and went out of business???
fast forward to today and I’m looking for soft bamboo dresses for my 4 year old that thinks everything is itchy or too tight. I remember dot dot smile and try to find it and i see the site is up and you can purchase it. So then i rmemeber to check facebook and find all the groups with super cheap stuff and a lot of them are like no f DDs we hate them now!
Wtf happened ?!?!

Advice for dealing with MLM mother
I’m a 29 mother of 4 myself and my own mother is MLM obsessed. She did Tupperware for years, the trips the cars all of it, it completely consumed her. In the beginning she guilted me into having parties etc but the last few years when she was most successful that stopped. Well recently she left Tupperware and joined melaleuca like a lot of them did and we’re back to square one. Telling me to join, daily phone calls, having things shipped to my address cause I’m guessing she needs so many sales to different people or something. I hated the Tupperware thing cause it’s way overpriced and you can buy stuff way cheaper elsewhere. Now we’re doing it again, I continue to tell her I don’t want any products I don’t want to sign up but she just goes on about how good they are. I feel like her being so addicted to MLM’s is just ruining whatever relationship we have left. Now she’s extremely sensitive and will in fact hold anything I say against me causing issues when it comes to my kids who love her very much. I have no idea what to do. Saying I can’t afford it doesn’t work she knows we live comfortably. Saying I prefer other products means nothing she just says these are better which I find weird considering she just signed up. Saying flat out no don’t ask again means my kids won’t see her for months, yes she’s that manipulative and while not a great mother, she’s a fantastic grandmother when she’s not mad at me. Please help I can’t go through this again.

So I'm in this group and this girl wants me to join her opportunity to be a travel agent network marketer. I told her no. She's persistent and I end up joining the "discovery call" What is it with all MLM's having discovery calls? Joins in and me and 11 randoms in the call. Looked all nice but then there's a £159 joining fee and a £34 a month platform fee.
Soon as the call over this girl is like you have signed up yeah??? I was like no. She was like I think one of the managers needs to come on to answer your concerns.
She chats away. My friend is there. I literally let rip in front of my friend to the manager about them selling holidays that the bigger focus is getting people to join than to actually sell the product of a package holiday.
My friend got a bit mad about me running down her boss and the company. I think she feels foolish herself being in this thing but won't admit it to me. It's awkward as I can't go no contact as we are both in a group for something to do with our hobbies.
All a bit of a shambles.

I’m looking for a support group for people who left MLMs, but they all cost money.
It’s really disheartening and feels like group facilitators, many of whom are therapists, are taking advantage. Most support groups for other things are free no matter who facilitates it.
I don’t want to start my own because I don’t tend to succeed at starting my own social groups.
Anyone know of one? I need support and my only supportive person is still involved.

it's probably an MLM - is it worth it?
got an offer from envision bay consulting, for a 100% commission based pay position. looked it up, most people agree it's an MLM. however, what's stopping me from doing the training or like a week of work and then stepping out? i get like $140 a day for training. would there be any drawbacks to this?

My first experience with an MLM: a brief story
Not so funny story: some years ago, my family and I were at a Christmas market being hosted in this private school that was considered kinda fancy for the area. While there, I just so happened to come across one of my teachers from middle or high school. Regardless, it had been a long time since I had seen her (didn’t even recognize her at first) so we talked for a bit. She had a table where she was selling baking supplies and whatnot, and I thought it’d be a perfect gift for my dad. But she didn’t let me buy any of the items there. She directed me to a website instead and wanted me to use an affiliate link. And that’s exactly what I did.
The company?
Pampered Chef.
I ended up getting a bottle of Cinnamon + (whatever the heck that means) and some kind of mat you put on a cookie tray that helps you measure where to put the balls of dough. I thought to myself ‘man. This is kinda overpriced for two measly little items’ but I still ended up buying them for my dad. Only years later did I learn what a pyramid scheme was. And that was after my mom bought multiple large boxes of Pampered Chef goods. At least she didn’t sell the stuff, I guess.
Oh, and all these years later I don’t think my dad ever used either of my gifts 😂
