MLMs targeting actors?
I signed up for an email list offering advice and encouragement for professional actors, and like 2 weeks into being on this email list, the writer started advertising "a powerful 3 hour workshop on building generational wealth through ethical entrepreneurship" with someone named Chloe. Tbh this didn't raise any alarm bells for me, but I didn't attend because I just had better things to do (memorizing the script for my upcoming contract). I got another email before the workshop happened that featured some buzzwords that triggered my mlm senses, like "life changing" and "secret yearlong project." That, in addition to the author describing this webinar as an opportunity that doesn't come around everyday, and stating that she has milestones to hit and has been working with Chloe for years, had to pay $10k to start working with her, and is STILL paying for Chloe's "mentorship" to this day, pretty much confirmed for me that this is an MLM situation. I just rolled my eyes and moved on, but this morning, I got another email from this girl celebrating that after the webinar, "WE WON TOP COMMUNITY" for number of registrations. This time, I remembered to unsubscribe. And I decided to google the name of the company that they're recruiting people for: "Genius Lab Excel" and I couldn't find anyone on the internet calling it an MLM so I'm really writing this in hopes that this'll come up when someone googles "genius lab excel mlm" or chloe *****-***** mlm" because that's exactly what it is. I signed up for this email list on Instagram through the author's account where she was sharing inspiration & advice for actors. It's crazy that there are really MLMs out there for every kind of victim.

Can't stand the constant sales pitch
Relative of mine is into Melaleuca (recruiting people to her downline as well as buying the products), and while I've made my opinion of the company extremely clear, at the end of the day she's free to do whatever she wants with her time and money. I sometimes help her out with business related stuff (picking up packages for her since she can't lift much, helping her with tech issues, etc.) and sometimes she'll let me have some free products whenever she gets them (can't say no to free protein powder, even if I would never actually buy it at full price).
But her constantly trying to sell me on the company and the products is genuinely so irritating. It's like she thinks none of the products could ever be "bad", or be advertised in a misleading way. I was telling her she should stop using fabric softener after her washing machine got a really bad residue issue, especially on her towels since they no longer absorbed any water, and she was arguing that the problems couldn't possibly be caused by the Melaleuca fabric softener since it "didn't contain any chemicals" and is "natural and safe." She wouldn't hear me out about how it didn't matter whether it was natural or not, wax is wax and will still build up in her machine and her clothes. Today, she was picking up a package from my place that contained some dryer sheets that were giving me a headache with how strongly scented they were (I'm not sensitive to fragrances whatsoever, I just didn't particularly like that specific smell) and she was going off about how the smells were "non-toxic" and "natural." Totally refused to listen when I said that there's no such thing as non-toxic fragrances, that natural stuff can STILL be dangerous, that she was just being tricked by misleading advertisement.
I'm just so tired of constantly being sold to, I already hate that company with a burning passion, if I'm gonna help you move boxes for your scam MLM the least you could do is not try to rope me in your cult.

Same Enagic Hun still butchering the English Language
Hi. . .this super-professional "business owner"/future millionaire still refuses to revise/reflect or edit. In case anyone was wondering after my post here the other day. I really can't keep up with them. I'm not being a grammar-bully. Everyone makes mistakes once in a while. But this level of frequency seems to warrant (lack of?) effort. Where are the coaches they are paying for? (Yes, English is their first language, otherwise I wouldn't have posted.) It's just sloppy-chili-dog-chili-dripping-down-the-chin-besmirching-your-shirt-sloppy af. If you live in a glue zone, would you say it's the huffing of the glue that is the reason for your longevity or more like all the cool arts and crafts you can do?

Triple Threat MLM
Huns a plenty in Scotland in the local community Facebook group pages all offering the same business.
The manager has obviously shit the bed with recruitment in a small location and now the downline is all trying to recruit.
The three suspects are:
Intellitravel
Templespa UK
Some wax candle nonsense (name I forgot)
The hun who recruited me for Templespa is now on the hustle to recruit me for Intellitravel after getting me on her team for Templespa (I didn't even start after joining as I questioned too much)
Thought better of Scotland

MLM or what is wrong with people?
My husband has step brothers which I really like, I have lots of friends on Facebook from that side of the family, I'm close to some of them but others are just there and I liked their posts, wish them happy birthday, congratulate in special occasions, etc.
Some of them have been involved with MLMs but they never pressure me or anything to join or buy. One of the step nices (which I haven't really talk, I mean like just small chat in family events, actually last time I saw her in person was 2021. I know she has struggles and she is always posting all sort of stuff especially lately, she says she is sober, and she has been eating healthier and loosing weight (great for her!)
ETA, the rest of my story
So the other night, out of the blue, because we never chat, she DM me a Hey girl! I was oh no here we go, so I just ignore the DM, not in the mood to deal with something like that. I couldn't sleep last night so I move to the couch in the middle of the night and then I got a DM (weird time). Something about let her know when I was willing to have a real talk 🤔😱 I made the mistake to tell her listen I'm not in the position of trying and opportunity or buying anything. She said Ok don't worry, I made the second mistake and told her I know the pitch. The she go what pitch what are you talking about? I went ok what are you selling? Answer nothing you let me know. I said ok what do you want to talk about? And then she star telling something on the lines that If that's what you want you can still being a chronic alcoholic, I'm just trying to help.
I like partying but that's the point I don't go to parties where she is there (different ages and circle of friends) she lives in a different town so she doesn't know me really. And then she was rambling about how I can stay getting myself numb and blablabla, I was like WTH are you trying to do? I say listen I probably have my own struggles and I know I have to deal with certain stuff in my life, but at the end it's not of your business. She just kept rambling and then I say I wish you good, I know you are family but I have to block you, sorry. She says do what you want and that was the end of it. I told the story to my husband this morning and he was like she did what? Stay away from her!
My brother thinks she probably was going to sell me something that cures addiction and alcoholism. I said I don't know maybe she joined a cult. I just needed to share because I found it weird her answer not being I'm not selling anything, I just wanted to reach and see how you are doing in this difficult times.

Cost of a night out - Ringana MLM style
Decided to delete my original post since it confused people so much so they had to (kindly) check my posting history. I did not intend to promote an MLM, quite the contrary but I realized it looked confusing without context after seeing some comments.
I despise business models like MLM‘s, grifts, scams or any exploitative company.
My post was about the high cost of being an MLM hun. The hun had a short night and tries to fix it by supplements and products in the amount of almost $10.

Why don’t they ever put time into a real small business?
I see so many (usually women) putting 8-15k+ into buying an Enagic machine etc. but if they are finding that kind of credit anywhere, why don’t these people ever try moving into a legit business?
Like, they do spend $$$ and tonnes of time on their phone and they could see some wins. Is it all just “too hard” basket, and they are sold on the “support” of their team structure?
I know a lot is feared based and a lot of psychological tricks to make women feel they gain a community - but small businesses or market stalls etc. also aren’t impossible to make successful especially if it’s just to “spoil your family” or take a cruise over summer - have you seen any former huns make it in legit business? And what do you think the main barrier to creating a real small business is? I mean, if they wanna work on their phone 24-7 there are legit ways they can!

Help! Simplest link to explanation of dangers of MLM to send someone who JUST joined?
Someone I know and care about just followed me on social media from a new account as a Vita Health Sales Agent. I'm very concerned for her - she's made a great life for herself and family here in the U.S. and I'm worried this could sap a lot of the wealth she has created. Her first language is Spanish (Mexico), but she's fluent in English. Does anyone have advice of a message of concern to send and something that can very simply explain the dangers?

Just found out my GF is in an amway subgroup
I love my girlfriend and one of the reasons I committed to her was her ambition and work ethic. Recently, though, I found out that she’s involved with Amway, which honestly crushed me.
She’s always been vague about her second job, and I had no prior experience with MLMs, so I didn’t catch on earlier. Now that I know, I’m worried she’s stuck in a motivational sales-cult, and I’d like to help her get out if that’s even possible.
She doesn’t know that I’m aware yet. We’re going on holiday together soon, and even skipping one of her weekly “mindset” meetings was a big issue for hot damn holidays I will pay for. After New Year, I’ll also be meeting her family for the first time.
My questions:
When is the right time to bring this up?
Should I ask about her actual income and net profit?
Is it wrong to ask her friends if she’s tried recruiting them before and get some more infos because she told me it’s energy contract sales she does, but this sub group also dabbles with Amway products ( i have found some infos online) so its weird and I don’t have enough info online
How much time should I give her? I will break up sooner or later if I can’t help her to cut her losses and leave them

Today is The Day!!!
Yup it's the day that MK officially started their new e-Commerce shop that they announced in Sept or Oct (don't recall).
Pink Truth had a great blog post today titled "The Writing is On The Wall" definitely worth a read.
It appears that there are a fair amount of consultants/directors who are planning on attempting to persuade their customers to not use the new website - instead, contact them directly to order for that all-important personalized service! I guess we'll just see how THAT works out.

I Need help (Primerica)
Ok so here’s the story as it stands for my fucked up situation. Yesterday I thought I’d get a job interview since I’m a poor high school senior who needed the money. Halfway through I realize I fucked up and even then let myself get pressured into “hiring” me. Now first thing I did is call my bank and as of now my bank has told me that the charge on my account has been reverted and that anything Primerica related will get blocked from making a transaction.
But that’s all I’ve done. Honestly? I’m angry at myself. Feel for it and they even used a fake name on indeed to get my idiotic self. So now I wanna ask for advice as to what I need to do next. Beyond learn to say “fuck this” when a job seems too good to be true.

What do we know about Arbonne?
Are there any good docs to watch or youtube videos?
I love this stuff like gossip or tv, but i’m actually a little worried about a girl i follow on instagram… she’s a new mom, and she was promoting arbonne before she was pregnant, but since birth shes been clearly too busy to post about her “business”… well the other day she posts that her business is “on the brink” and that it’s “slipped through her fingers”, like she was having a full meltdown about it, and then a couple days later she’s posting about how she’s been “given a second chance” and she owes everything to @bossbabe1 and @bossbabe2 (and like… three or four whole stories about it… like too much, yknow?) and then today she posted like 6 or 7 minute-long stories about that nasty green mud drank, clearly reading from a script just off screen, and talking about things she clearly felt uncomfortable talking about (like her bowel movements)
so it’s pretty clear (right? or am i paranoid?) that she wasn’t pulling in enough $$ postpartum, and then probably got on one of those nasty boss babe zoom calls, and they probably made her feel so inferior and stupid for not being able to find 10 minutes from her phone for her business and the “help” of other women right? i’ve seen videos that show the zoom calls from some of these mlm’s and they’re so fucking mean and nasty, and prey prey prey on them, is arbonne like that? are these two boss babes holding her hostage behind the scenes?
is there anything i can do to help her? is that overstepping? is she long gone?
