Loaded Teas with false hope
Kinda got crushed this week thinking that I was trying to do a hobby like job when I applied for one of the tea shops in my town. My thinking was and what I was being told was in a way was "you can make a career out of this and we would love to have you as a part of our team!" They were nice fun to talk to people and the job was just going to be making teas and healthy milkshakes so I thought it would be a fun job to work for. I asked what they pay and they said 10$ not even minimum wage in my state so I was confused on how they were able to do that. Then she had me come back later for an interview. "You got to pay $54 to start but you can get a refund as long as its under 12 months." OK I can do that bc this should be something I can try and hopefully it'll at least be fun and I won't quit my main job just in case I don't like it. Ive paid the $54 now being told "you have to make posts and constantly be making posts about our teas and shakes, try to get people to come in for body scans." Well that would've been nice to know before the fact that I had signed up but alright. Made 1 post nobody cared duh lol.... I knew some about Herballife's MLM scheme but I didnt know they would be this pushy about trying to get me to convince family friends and coworkers to try their products. It sucks bc there isn't much to do in the town i live in but work. I wish I could find a job I enjoyed but I quit after the first unpaid training I just couldn't morally do it and after being told in a different way of course that the only way to move up in the company was to get you and others to buy tons of expensive products and that the more money you can spend the faster you can move up i could not morally do it anymore. My "coach" even spent an hour trying to get me to figure out how to use afterpay so id be able to buy products for my favorite tea and it was still coming out to almost $300 with Herballife being out of have the stuff I would need to make the tea with her telling me I could just buy drink packets at Dollar General for replacement for those. That really gave me a red flag.

Happy juice
So I’m scrolling on Instagram and a reel pops up from a lady selling “happy juice”.
She’s mixing some powder into water and saying it “improved her marriage.” Then she makes the drink for herself and her husband, and suddenly they are aggressively making out on camera.
Kissing. Shoulder nuzzling. Hands everywhere.
It was basically soft core ….
How fake do you have to be to set up a camera, hit record, mix powdered nonsense into water, and then start dry humping your spouse while pretending this is natural and spontaneous?
And are these people not embarrassed?
Your parents.
Your uncles and aunts.
Your neighbors.
Your bank teller.
Your kids’ teachers.
The Amazon driver.
Everyone can see what you two should be doing in your bedroom in private.
I’m not a prude, but if your marriage needs a tripod and an affiliate link, maybe it’s not the powder doing the work

What do D2D HawkX sales people actually earn?
I have a mutual friend that went from normal to SUPER cringe with posting about "you can Make $30-100k in a summer" and now posts supercars and motivational clips about making money all the time. His bio is "GOALS: Lambo by end of 2026, millionare by 2028"
My question to those that have done HawkX pest control sales (or something that is very similar), how much do you actually earn? Like what is average, not what does the top 10% make?

I didn't know what I was getting into. Asking for advice.
Hello! I (M in his twenties) finished a webinar I was invited to this weekend. To give context, a few weeks back, I was messaged by a connection (recruiter) I got in a networking event when I was still in uni. I was a bit surprised that they messaged me a year after and was asking about what I'm doing and stuff and if I got a job already (at that time, no, but I just got an offer recently), and then asked me to meet up. I said yes, and I was a bit happy tbh since people rarely ask for coffee with me unless it's the other way around.
He then introduced me to the "opportunity for financial freedom." As a silly old goober, I gave in a bit because he initially mentioned that no money would be involved, and mentorship is free and is proven effective --- saying that only the chosen ones (10% of the population) know about techniques that would lead you to financial freedom. We actually had a great discussion about life, deep thoughts about bureaucracy of modern businesses, and that it's not about the money. (I know it's cheesy)
After that he made me read The Cashflow Quadrant and Go-Giver books (which are nice bookd btw, but looking at it now they seem like marketing books), and arranged me to join a webinar (the one I finished this weekend) about the vetting process and the opportunity. That was then when I became aware that they are connected to TeamMak which is a partner of Amway. I never heard of Amway until now, but what I'm getting from the internet is that they are the fathers of MLM scams? I heard they'll make you drop your relationships with people who would not buy into the products or being recruited?
I'm now really confused and a bit disappointed that the "network" I'm getting into contradicts their own values. I know I'm a fool and a bit gullible, but I am not stupid. My mom was already a victim of Avon before.
Would love some advice on what should I do. I am not quite bold to be confrontational so I don't know how I would be able to handle the situation. I'd also like to help him to realise what he's getting into or is that a bad idea?
Thank you!

How exactly is MLM a scam? Need a deep explanation :/
Sorry for this stupid question, but I've almost no knowledge about MLMs etc. I just know that you've to add people below you in the tree.
So my friend got into this Pyramid scheme to a company named Forever living products. I opposed her but she of course didn't listen to me. She had to pay 30k rupees (334 USD) for buying the products and after a month and half, she was showing off her payroll check to me of 6k rupees (67 USD). I told her that she's still in loss but she didn't give a fuck and said that she'll recover the remaining money in 4-5 months, afterwards she'll earn constant profit. She has to go to seminars to other cities almost 2-3 times a month (from her expenses). Now after she recovers the losses, will it be like a normal job or is there any other scam waiting for her?

My dad gave an MLM all my information and susbrcibed me against my wishes
Hey everyone! Last month I made a post about my dad joining an MLM. How we've been no contacts, and he tried to recruit me very forcefully and a few months ago disowned me which ended in me being almost homeless over summer, but contacts me now and then asking me for money.
Well today he subscribed me to the MLM and sent a bunch of the products to my apartment as a "Christmas" present so I could sell them... even when I told him I didn't want anything to do with it. He just signed me up for it. He gave them my address and all my legal information
I don't know what to do. Please help.
I am livid, and crying. I am panicking I don't know what to do. I don't want anything to do with that shit. I don't want their stupid products and their emails. Or them having any of my information.
Only thing they don't have is my SSN and new bank account for now thankfully???
I am trying to see how I can deactivate that stupid account and unsubscribe but its not letting me. Its like they have all my information, made an account in my name and I'm not allowed ro back out which is so fucking scummy.
This is such a low fucking point even for him? Idk why he would do this to his own child. He tried tricking me into getting my data and used the power he has over me (being my dad he has legal information)

Aunt Is possibly Involved in a MLM/Scam rn.
Does anyone know if Agaro is a MLM or scam? They basically recruit you to sell coffee. My aunt and uncle have gotten involved in it. It seems really sketchy. They are also making them literally attend a conference on Christmas Eve.

Update: My dad signed me up for an MLM without my consent
So I tried emailing their costumer service and never got a response. Called the company and they never picked up.
The site also conveniently doesn't let you cancel orders or shut down your account without going through a 1000 hoops.
Today at 3pm someone finally picked up after keeping me waiting for 15 mins on the line. And they shipped the order to my location.
I told them very firmly I did not consent to that account being made in my name, getting their promotional emails or orders sent to my address which I never gave them.
The guy on the call gave me attitude saying they didnt do any of that and I should be careful who I give my information to or that it is not the company's fault and told me that if I wanted them to shut down my account I would have to confim information they had on me... so basically tried baiting me into giving him more personal information and going "sorry if you don't tell me where you live and repeate it I can't confirm it's you and shut down your account" and kept asking more questions.
I told him I would file a police report and wouldn't be afraid to pursue legal action for them commiting identity fraud and opening an account in my name and sending me products without my consent. We just talked around in circles where he was gaslighting me saying they don't do that and gave me an email to their legal team? (Which I'm pretty sure is BS too, but I wrote it down anyways).
Idk why MLMs are such a headache to deal with. Why can't I be left alone?
Also the MLM is 4Life, I barely see it mentioned here since its not as big as Herbalife and what not but does anyone have experience with these scumbags? All i find when I look them up on Youtube are people trying to recruit you.

Company holiday party was raffling off gift baskets with doTERRA in them
Every year, the company I work for has this holiday party and they have a few gift baskets that they raffle off. Last year, we had pretty good things, like one basket had high quality cookware and another had expensive wine, etc. This year wasn’t great, since it was mostly just things with my company’s logo on them, but the “wellness” baskets each had the typical blanket, mug, slippers, etc and like 3 things of doTERRA essential oils. It was kinda jarring seeing MLM products in the wild like this, and as something an employee could “win.”
I don’t know who won them, since I put all of my tickets towards the basket that was solely various types of cheese.

MLM ruined my relationship...
A few months ago, my girlfriend joined "Forever Living" a well known MLM. Her family (and I) warned her early on and asked her to leave, but she didn’t.
She had to put money in upfront and now occasionally earn small amounts. On paper it looks like “earning” but once you factor in ongoing expenses, travel for seminars, and constant pressure to stay active, the math doesn’t really add up.
That alone would be concerning, but the real issue isn’t financial anymore.
Since joining, she feels like a completely different person. Every conversation turns into mindset, hustle, positivity or business. Any concern or question is dismissed as negativity or lack of belief and the only argument she has is "no scamming company would survive 47 years" lol. I really can't believe this is the girl I fell in love with and have no idea what to do now instead of breakup.
What really broke me was when I was sick and instead of concern, I was pitched one of her MLM products as a solution. In that moment, I didn’t feel like a partner and I can't get over it. There's no emotional presence anymore... Everything feels scripted, rehearsed and obviously criticism isn't allowed.
So yep, fuck you Forver Living, and all other MLMs. Thanks for reading my rant :/
