Anyone had this crap thrown at them yet? I just answered a message from an old friend’s wife and she started with the sales and sent me a video. I fast forwarded a through a bunch of it, but near the end it gets into the tiers and down chain profits and the diagrams are an obvious pyramid scheme. I’ve always been really cool with him and his wife, but have seen her bouncing from scam to scam over the last decade. It used be her having an alkaline water machine and selling milk jugs of it, but she’s never tried to rope me in before. It’s a sad day when I have to explain to her that I’m not interested and using words like pyramid in my reasoning, without being mean to someone I’ve been friends with for 20 years.

Ugh, friend finally went to the darkside
A friend of mine (for 10 years now) has been an on again / off again serial entrepreneur. He has an actual career that makes good money, but is set on building that "residual income" on the side and I know he wants to be one of these guys that posts on social media, giving coaching tips from a beach somewhere, or while driving in his car.
He's had some good business ideas related to his career that haven't quite taken off, but I commend him for doing something he is passionate (and knows alot) about. Hes also done some of the drop shipping amazon stuff with moderate success. There have also been some previous brushes MLMs over his life, but he never took the bait.
However, I woke up the other day to get a lengthy, spammy text from him for Make Wellness. I thought his phone was hacked. My wife got on social media and noticed the same thing on his Facebook - again thought he was hacked. However as we scrolled down his feed, there were videos of him using the product and sharing testimonials. He's using the product as part of his overall new business, but these products seem to be the main focus of his business.
Its been a few months since we had spoken (we get together every once and awhile) and I was so frustrated that instead of a "hey, how you doing" or "we should get together" it was a text for buying his product. Why do people do this to their friends? Hes a smart, social well adjusted guy to. It just baffles me.
Maybe Make Wellness has the miracle product and I am missing out lol.

My marriage May be over because of what I've read about doTerra on this thread...
So... My wife recently joined doTerra as a seller, after some years of being herself a user. She was given the opportunity to join their ranks by some local doterra Diamond level old lady (or some shit like that). So my house now is like 24/7 with humifiers on, and my kids being rubbed at night with those roll ons (diluted EO). She made a course for some massage called "aroma touch". Bought the kit, and bla bla. Now she is going for a trip for entrepeneurs next week.
So, I decide to search reddit since I use it all the time, came a cross all this kind of disclaimers about how they are basically a scheme, and of course I let her know out of preocupation, but she replied that Im Just being unsopportive, and claims Im Just not happy for her because now he has this zoom meetings everyday, and that kind of stuff... I dont know what to do.... Do I let her continue? I am trying to be suppprtive, but I dont know where to step right now... And this May be the oil drop that spills the glass for us...

Plexus question, about top jewels rebranding themselves?
I went to a small Christian college in the southeast, and it seems that several I graduated college with 20 years ago are Plexus jewels. I've noticed that several of them no longer say 'Plexus' as their occupation on Facebook, and instead they've rebranded themselves with their own podcasts, motivational speaker type of thing, wellness consultant, etc.
"Owner and Founder of Wellness from Within" "Motivational Speaker of Live Laugh Love Wellness" "Business & Life Coach for Team Prosperity with a Purpose" etc.
What is going on? Are they trying to rebrand themselves and start their own company ( with things like ebooks, podcasts, motivational speaking, consultant services, etc) because Plexus is going out of business? Is Plexus OK with their top jewels rebranding themselves this way with vague wordy names? Just trying to figure out what's going on.

A middle level former Modere Hun posted this on her FB. Yesterday she posted that she had an upcoming call and they were finalizing plans and she would announce as soon as she had info (like we care? LOL) She sent a PM to a friend of mine, trying to recruit her to whatever it was she was joining. She told her that a few Modere elites and a couple millionaire friends were getting a new company going. It sounds exciting and will have the best of the best products, reasonably priced. This millionaire has been working on a few things for several years. They mentioned working with RJKJ's doctor and a few other big names. Get in now, to be at the ground floor! LOL

Hey guys I was working for a BD and ran into a client who “owns” their own Brokerage but has a partnership with Primerica.
He’s been reaching out to me about an opportunity and I finally had a conversation with him last week about it. He mentioned that he wanted to be my “mentor”. I was excited, I said why not. We had a phone call and a few days later we had a zoom meeting. At the end of the zoom meeting he presented an opportunity to own my own business and become financially independent. I agreed. From then on he’s been calling everyday. I had to pay $25.99 for a website under Primerica. Now they want me to pay $30 to get my security license transferred over because I already have SIE, Series 6, 63 etc. they also have a summit coming up next week and invited me but I have to pay for my flight.
I am feeling a bit uneasy about this…

My hair stylist got sucked in
I’ve been seeing the same (by all accounts, wonderful) woman for my hair for the last 4-5 years. Recently one of her clients came in and my stylist loved her hair.
Unfortunately, the product the client touted was Monat.
My stylist is so smart, kind, funny and we share so many of the same values. When I saw her post an insta story unboxing the products I literally thought it was satire.
We’ve had a small discussion about how predatory MLMs are, even if the product is fine (I’m aware it is not, but was trying to give a little ground so that maybe she’d be willing to hear the rest lol).
It just makes me so sad. She’s giving all the same answers the new recruits are taught to give. She’s in a position of power when it comes to clients coming in to sit in the chair, and the idea that even if she’s not actively recruiting her influence will impact these women is disheartening.
(If you see this, A, I’m sorry. My heart is honestly kinda broken and no one else gets it the way this sub will.)

All I’m seeing on socials from Oliveda girlies is how they’re featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue and Times Mag and it is sooo annoying.
I work in the marketing/advertising space and I am 99.999% positive that the company isn’t being sought out and featured, they’re paying for ad space in the magazine. This company and CEO is spending thousands, probably hundreds of thousands, in marketing and advertising, and praying it will pay off!

MLMs vs Actual sales jobs question
How to defend against MLM when they say all businesses are pyramid schemes. Personally, my go to is that my job doesn’t require me to sell anything.
But what about car salespeople? Marketing sales? They do have sales quotas and commissions.
Do those jobs not have a leveled commission? Example: I sell a car, I make a commission, does my boss make any commission for my sale? I don’t have to recruit more sales people, but is that the only difference?
