hey everyone, i read alot in here about the juice plus pyramid scheme and my sister sadly fell for it and won’t let anyone tell her that it is in fact a scam
she paid them 500€ already and they send her a bunch of weird products ( the package came today ) and she’s working 2 jobs to make money for her drivers license and everything and now she’s throwing her money out of the window because they promised her she’s gonna make lots of money

I just moved to a new city and haven’t been finding work easily. I have an interview with a group called empire management group and I realized theyre a pyramid scheme through this subreddit. I’m signed up for the interview today and I want to do something outlandish for the interview, just to mess with them, I might take the interview in bed and pretend like I’m in a therapy session. I might speak in gibberish, I might show them my cats. Any suggestions? This is completely silly but I want to waste their time the way they steal from people

Chamber of commerce full of MLMs
The city I live in has a fairly active chamber, and I’ve noticed over the past year or so that more and more MLM “business owners” have been trickling in more and more. Has anyone else noticed this?
It’s been so tough navigating it. I’m not sure who’s trying to make genuine connections anymore and who might be trying to get me to join their MLM.

Told Them I Work In Digital Marketing
I work in digital marketing professionally.
I have a day job at a start up, do some side consilting and mentor a few people in the first 5 years in their careers.
For my consulting, I'm 100% referall based, I choose who I work with and have no costs other than 1 software I pay for. I bring in enough each month to make it worthwhile and I enjoy it.
Lil Miss MLM tried to pitch her dogitial marketing business with their low start up fee of $155.
She is growing her digital marketing buisness.
She got really excited when I told her I work in digital marketing. Telling me all about the opportunity.
Asked if she had made money.
She said 'not yet'.
I asked why I needed her business when I already have enough clients, and profitable.
She stopped messaging me after that. Lol

Friend Just Pitched Me WSB
So my friend met someone 2 weeks ago that they like and are considering a relationship with. I have been hearing that they teach some financial literacy course. Well today, my friend invited me to the new person's financial literacy class, and sent me info. Its World System Builder. Didn't take long to see what it was, and I just told them it's an MLM and not to spend any money on it. My friend says they attended one class but didn't spend any money yet.

My family member is an MLM executive
Just found out. Don't know how to feel. And not just an executive, a country manager.
And had long history with many other MLM's managing another one before and served as a high ranking executive for the others.
Also worked for herbalife in the past. Like for the worst possible well known MLM's you can think of. Brruuuuuuhhhh

I went to a luncheon organized by a friend. I didn’t know anybody, but I like meeting people. The woman across from me complained about grocery prices. She mentioned that she was a director with Mary Kay. And that not only does she provide cosmetics and skin care. She also offers financial solutions for those needing extra money since the economy is bad right now. Why would anyone need to buy a $25 lipstick in a bad economy? I didn’t want to be unfriendly so I didn’t say this, but I felt like it.

PSA: Just sat through a pitch for Starfish, a "decentralized cashback" MLM scheme
Recently, I received a message from a distant acquaintance asking if I could chat. Due to overlapping community involvement and interests, I didn't initially recognize this as a potential sales pitch for an MLM, but that's what our chat was.
I received a 20-minute, highly libertarian, anti-Federal Reserve, and anti-big credit card sales pitch to "join the consumer rebellion" with Starfish and earn huge cash back by shopping at major retailers (they neglected to mention any monthly fees). A little further on in the sales pitch, I was told that Starfish had recently partnered with Visa, which seemed counterintuitive to avoiding big banks and big credit card companies that try to deplatform certain ideologically aligned groups. It took a considerable effort from me not to ask about that partnership, but I was more interested in getting off the call than trying to poke holes in someone's sales pitch.
I told them I would do some research and get back to them so I could learn more. Still, I was advised not to believe everything I read on the internet about the founder, Orrin Woodward. "If you're taking flak, you're over the target" was their mantra for dismissing all the negative/scam talk. Still, all I could think of was Nutriboom from Brooklyn 99.
Finally, I am glad this subreddit exists, as it allowed me to conduct a quick search during the call and validate my suspicions. Kicking myself for not seeing it sooner, but I hope this post can serve as a PSA to others when they search for Starfish MLM.

Struggling with cash? Join a MLM
Yesterday, I received a text about a Pampered Chef “party“ via text message. The hun stated that daily she would text products and we would thumbs up the ones we wanted to buy.
Normally, if I’m put in a group on social media, I unfollow it. Now texts? So I responded back with a no thanks, government shutdown, we are a federal family.
This lady literally responds back recommending that I become a consultant. Ummm no.
I responded with no thank you, we are ok because I pick up extra days at my job. I said im sure sales are tough for you right now with this economy and i added that I would never want to bother my family and friends to buy something from me, especially in this economy. It was written better than this but that’s the gist.
She writes back with the benefits of selling. I didn’t respond because I’m actually annoyed that she would recommend someone paying to join a mlm when the person says money is tight.
End of my vent but thought I would share my annoyance with you.

Advice for dealing with MLM mother
I’m a 29 mother of 4 myself and my own mother is MLM obsessed. She did Tupperware for years, the trips the cars all of it, it completely consumed her. In the beginning she guilted me into having parties etc but the last few years when she was most successful that stopped. Well recently she left Tupperware and joined melaleuca like a lot of them did and we’re back to square one. Telling me to join, daily phone calls, having things shipped to my address cause I’m guessing she needs so many sales to different people or something. I hated the Tupperware thing cause it’s way overpriced and you can buy stuff way cheaper elsewhere. Now we’re doing it again, I continue to tell her I don’t want any products I don’t want to sign up but she just goes on about how good they are. I feel like her being so addicted to MLM’s is just ruining whatever relationship we have left. Now she’s extremely sensitive and will in fact hold anything I say against me causing issues when it comes to my kids who love her very much. I have no idea what to do. Saying I can’t afford it doesn’t work she knows we live comfortably. Saying I prefer other products means nothing she just says these are better which I find weird considering she just signed up. Saying flat out no don’t ask again means my kids won’t see her for months, yes she’s that manipulative and while not a great mother, she’s a fantastic grandmother when she’s not mad at me. Please help I can’t go through this again.
