The doTERRA industry made me sick all throughout my childhood
My family used doTERRA from before I was born.
My mother was deep into the MLM as long as I can remember. (and still is to this day, unfortunately.) She'd offer doTERRA massages, order doTERRA products for people, and run seminars. I could think of at least four different places in the house where fifty+ doTERRA products reside.
It was most if not all women that would attend these and sell them. We were close to a couple of the women in this MLM and they were a little crazy, like conspiracy theories, violent blond, 'I have a salt lamp' crazy. But I digress, It was a very holistic home. No shots, no medicine, only oils.
I used to get sick a LOT. I was the one known for being sick all the time, caught every virus that was in the air at the time and all that. Not a very good place to be.
So to combat this sickness, My mother would give me oils! She'd buy these little empty capsules and pour five or six different oils inside till it was full, and id take it. Let me tell you, that little pill caused so much discomfort. I would be burping up OnGuard ALL day (sometimes the day after.)
The oils were never diluted, it was just the pure untouched doTERRA product, and most often that was the case for everything else.
You were supposed to rub the oils on your body for different things to happen. They even have a book on it. Look it up. Rubbing the oil on my chest or face would make my skin red and irritated after like two applications.
I used to be told to ingest it straight from the bottle. I thought I'd list some of the oils we'd use and their effects on me:
Peppermint was said to help with headaches, which i had a lot of at the time. I only got really bad ache from it. Did smell good though.
Breath would never clear my passage ways and would permeate this smell that I can only identify with sickness now. (the vaperrub of Breath didn't help either.)
Teatree/melaleuca was said to help with ache problems (or at least that's what I was told) Really only irritated my skin and made more ache.
Deep blue actually did help with my aching joints so there's that.
DigestZen NEVER helped. I think it made my stomach aches worse and I will never forgive DigestZen for that.
Lavender was said to help with sleep, never really saw any outcome for that.
I STILL don't know what OnGuard is used for to this day but I was given it religiously.
Their toothpaste is pretty good, I like their toothpaste.
I was told ClaryCalm would help with period pains but GUESS WHAT? DIDNT HELP!
They have these cough drops, but whenever I took them they felt like they made my throat worse. I even tested it once when i was well and my throat felt considerably worse after that cough drop.
Eighteen-ish years of taking this stupid product, I finally said that is enough, I learned that taking oils straight from the bottle is in fact *not* good for you! Who would have thought!
I gotta say, I am much healthier now! I rarely get sick, and when I do its a lot less volatile. I'm sure growing into an adult and having a better immune system has a big play in it, but I am proud to say I am free of this doTERRA curse.

I'd have to breath in steam with oils in it, and it often burned my eyes
doTERRA used to sell Christmas ornaments and we have two. You put oils on the ornament and its supposed to smell good or something.
My mother never threw away a single oil bottle, she keeps bags and bags of the empty ones for whatever reason.

Bad Experience with WFG...
I live in the United States. I joined World Financial Group last year. This is year I quit.
I met my upline in 2024. I attended some workshops about finance. They advertised a business opportunity. I wanted to start my own business, so I asked about the business opportunity. I was sold an Indexed Universal Life insurance (IUL) policy and joined the business. Then I started studying for my life and health license for my resident state.
I terminated my contract with WFG/TFA recently.
This is why I quit:
Recruiting- You have to recruit to get promoted to a higher commission contract. Promotions should be based on sales. The entry level contract is very low. You can only recruit people if you get lucky.
Some agents lack knowledge about how to design policies- I only have experience with my upline agent. They didn't design my IUL policy correctly. It wasn't suitable for me anyway. I am single, no children, and I was only earning $43K/year at my job. It shouldn't have been recommended to me in the first place. I stopped paying the premiums when I realized that.
I think every agent should know how to design IUL policies. I learned how to properly design them recently. It wasn't from my trainer.
I'm glad no one bought any life insurance from me. I'm also glad I didn't recruit anyone. I'm taking my licenses elsewhere.

My Workplace Will Be Selling Lularoe Clothing
I will not mention where I work for many reasons.
Anyway, the company I work for sells closeout items. So, I am going to guess Lularoe has unloaded stuff that they can't sell. I am not happy that we got this stuff. And I am responsible for putting it out. I have nobody to help me in my department, so I can't offload it to someone else.
On the other hand, we buy the stuff at a discount, so they absolutely are not getting all the money back for this stuff. And I also don't have to recruit people or purchase the items myself to sell. And as long as it gets to the sales floor, I won't get in trouble if it doesn't sell.

How to attract a hun in Target?
First off I’m sorry if this breaks any rules, I’m on an airplane. I’m pretty tired and I have a long layover in Dallas Fort Worth, with hotel stay, landing soon.
Once I get some sleep I  was thinking of killing some time by seeing if I could attract one of these predatory MLM huns.
I need to shop for a few things and
there is a Target store right next to my airport hotel and I was wondering how I could pass some time by making myself a fake target for an MLM/Amway/hun. I’ve heard that they prowl the aisles of these stores looking for potential recruits. I think I’m pretty aware of the lines they use like oh I love your sweater or oh your shoes are so cute. Kinda that kind of thing . Any advice on how to waste their time?

MLMs have been around forever. Before the net.
The USA has been thru this MLM shit multiple times. The Govt bans it, then the MLM switches to another type of MLM (cant remember the name) then slowly laws are quietly unbanned, and the MLMs all return. Always leading to swathes of broken and broke families. It has to be banned for good. And they shouldnt rescind those laws ever.
MLM isnt a Multi Level Marketing Scheme, its a MONEY CULT. Its like Scientology. All the workers make next to nothing, all while Tom Cruise had a meadow of wildflowers installed for him by low rung Scientologists, so him and Nicole Kidman could frolic thru the wildflowers, like they both wanted. In Monats case the lower rung associates pay for the Monat Dudes bad hairplugs.
They just keep coming back. Then when caught, they switch to another type of MLM, its like a morphing virus. We need a Norton's AntiMLM blocker.

Was it an MLM pitch ?
I met an college alumnus, he was pitching A business/networking opportunity that starts like this:
they are “looking for leaders” to join their team, but won’t explain the company, business model, product, or anything in details. Instead, they want you to attend a seminar first and mention that seats are limited.
They describe themselves as a “social entrepreneur” or “financial strategist” who educates people about finance and develops leaders. When asked whether it’s sales or something like Amway/Herbalife, they say no—but then say that ultimately “someone has to sell” for there to be a profit.
They also talk about leaving the limitations of a regular job, becoming an entrepreneur, and building something bigger.
Is this a typical MLM/network-marketing approach, or could it be something else?

Thought I would share this little story of mines cause I just think it’s so funny. I was texted by an old high school classmate of mine to see if I was interested in whatever she was doing and I ended up getting myself into a zoom meeting with her and her husband 🤦♀️. For a while now I had know they both worked for primerica because my friends who also went to the same school were talking about how apparently her and her husband were making LIKE MONEY and she didn’t even go into college or anything like straight to whatever she was doing, that being primerica. Just a quick scroll through their page and clicking a link in their bio really quickly I figured out they were working for primerica. After the zoom meeting and dm back saying actually I’m not interested I did a little more research. I kid you not, her father in law/husbands dad, is the vice president and owner / manager of the office in my city 😭🤦♀️ also apparently one of the million dollar earners in the company, SUPPOSEDLY! And I immediately thought lowkey… the worst people to be recruiting, cause of course YOU GUYS ARE MAKING MONEY! You guys are basically primerica nepo babies obviously it’s working out for you!?!
I honestly think it’s quite distasteful, because they reach out to regular people, students most likely, like me, to get them to waste their time and money for the most part… not even to make ANYTHING compared to what they’re making, since they literally have ties to big primerica management or whatever. A little extra too, the son/husband tried to sell me on how he used to work in construction and Manuel labor and how exhausting it was but now he doesn’t have to worry about that anymore because he’s working for primerica. Which caught me a little off guard after I did research because… your father, who is supposedly making 7 figures… sent his son out to do hard labor instead of maybe.. I don’t know saying ‘hey son, go get an education in so and so, I’ll pay for your tuition and all you expenses as you work hard to achieve your academic goals.’ 😭 honestly just the most random thing that happened so just wanted to share lol

I hate how much they lie
This is in reference to the MLM I mentioned last time I posted here (3 years ago) that my SIL joined right after leaving Mary Kay. So back then, there was a woman who was on the top of the pyramid who everyone looked up to and was one of those names that everyone knew. What's funny about her in particular is that about a year ago (a lot of these women I still follow simply because I just haven't bothered to unfollow but this how I figured out just how much this particular woman has lied) she left that MLM and hopped over to a different one with some of the other top earners (and the same old "this is the future and it's so much better and everyone needs to join this one instead).
Which, one, shows me that your opinion can't be trusted because you spent the last 3 - 4 years peddling one, but now THIS is the best? Not that she's been promoting that lately, she's been promoting her "coaching" business 🙄
But then one day, in her stories, she mentions about how her family OWNS A SUCCESSFUL FURNITURE BUSINESS. it's under her maiden name (which I could not have bothered to look up even if you paid me) so that's probably how it's gone undetected, but that in particular pissed me off to the highest degree.
Why do they lie??? Why are you lying to these women about how you're so successful and built yourself up WHEN YOU HAVE THE SAFETY NET OF A FAMILY BUSINESS TO FALL BACK ON. Idk that feels pretty important to me to mention??? But of course they don't, because how else can you lure vulnerable people into your stupid scam if they know your lifestyle is actually funded by a successful family business and not your over priced skincare? It pisses me off because I'm sure someone in my SIL's upline was in that lady's dowline and it's how they got them all to abandon Mary Kay for another stupid MLM.
