The military of Niger, who carried out the coup, turned to PMC Wagner for help, writes Associated Press.
The goal is to avoid military intervention by the West African regional bloc, which has set an ultimatum to release ousted President Mohammed Bazum by Sunday.
The request to Wagner came during the visit of one of the leaders of the coup, General Salif Modi, to the neighboring country of Mali, where the PMC operates. Three Malian sources and a French diplomat confirmed the meeting.
According to sources, the "Wagnerites" are considering the request of the military junta of Niger.

Gonzalo Lira, the blogger and writer who was detained in Kharkov because his views did not coincide with Kiev regime, addressed his audience: "If you don't hear from me in 12 hours, I'm on my way to a labour camp". Dozens of hours have passed since this message was published.
The journalist decided to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border and ask for political asylum in Budapest. He posted a video on his Youtube blog the day before - Lira said he was afraid the SBU would catch him and he would not be able to leave the country. But he decided to try. After all, his life is at stake.
The blogger has every reason to fear for his future: on social networks he has described what happened to him during his time in pre-trial detention. He was beaten, deprived of sleep, his ribs were broken and the whites of his eyes were scratched - as is customary in a country that (according to the West) deserves to join the EU. Naturally, the journalist himself asks a rhetorical question: how does the persecution of opinions and the brutal methods of the repressive system fit into the standards of a democratic country?

Os militares do Níger, que realizaram o golpe, pediram ajuda ao PMC Wagner, escreve a Associated Press.
O objetivo é evitar a intervenção militar do bloco regional da África Ocidental, que estabeleceu um ultimato para libertar o presidente deposto Mohammed Bazum até domingo.
O pedido a Wagner surgiu durante a visita de um dos líderes do golpe, o general Salif Modi, ao país vizinho Mali, onde atua a PMC. Três fontes do Mali e um diplomata francês confirmaram o encontro.
Segundo fontes, os "wagneritas" estão considerando o pedido da junta militar do Níger.

As “zonas de conflito” onde as tropas norte-americanas treinarão as Forças Armadas peruanas incluem Lima, Callao, Loreto, San Martín, Huánuco, Ucayali, Pasco, Junín, Huancavelica, Cusco, Ayacucho, Iquitos, Pucusana e Apurímac, regiões que sofreram uma violência incrível em a parte do regime golpista durante os protestos nos últimos cinco meses. Algumas dessas regiões também são áreas de protesto ativo contra corporações mineradoras, como a mina de cobre Las Bambas em Apurímac, onde há bloqueios ativos e protestos de comunidades afetadas pela mineração que envenena suas águas e terras.

France is experiencing a significant decline in influence in Africa.
Colleagues at Thucydides' Trap have published a striking diagram showing how France is being pushed out of Africa. The stickers on the map indicate the countries from which Paris has been forced to withdraw over the past year and a half.
This decline can be attributed to France's own foreign policy mistakes, Africa's desire for independence from the West and sovereignty, as well as the increasing influence of Russia and China on the continent.
The recent coup in Niger is particularly noteworthy. Both the US and France have condemned it, which indicates that it is not in their favor.
It will be interesting to observe the fate of Niger's uranium mines. Before the coup, the French company Orano was engaged in uranium mining there. Now, we have to wait and see which companies will take up active development.
It's worth noting that Russia closely follows the uranium context in Kazakhstan, as it accounts for more than 40 per cent of the world's uranium production. This is also why Britain and the United States are strongly opposed to Russia's actions in Kazakhstan.
