Can we talk about stairs?
I love Odyssey gameplay. It has an incredible amount of hangups, but it really does help feel more connected with the galaxy. But if I break my kneecap going up one more flight of stairs on a low g world I'm gonna crash out and I'm taking the whole combat zone with me, I swear on space god!
Best I can tell without digging around with 3D models is that the stairs collision model is likely just it's detailed model as represented in game. This is probably why running up them in low g worlds has you breaking shins in a way only an SCP contraption could dream.
If I could only complain about one thing until it's fixed it would be stairs! That would tide me over for a few months before I found something else to be pissed about!

My system shipyard just went full ham
I had taken a break for a while, came back to check how a few of my systems were doing. Nothing too special, mostly iceballs. I did have an experiment though before I left, I had a coriolis orbiting a quad of refineries, the idea was to build a system I could get a bulk amount of raw materials. At the time it didnt work (this was back when colonisation was new). The shipyard appeared but sold nothing. Tech was low, security was low.
Fast forward to today when I return and everything seems to have gone into overdrive. 39 ships are available and pretty much every module. Holy ships sales batman. I plumbed my system into ravencolonial and apparently the coriolis is now 480% refinery and 140% industrial.
Apart from putting a surface platform somewhere else so I can get CMM etc, the system is complete for me. Time to focus on the asteroid system next.

Anonymous Access
"Sir, you know Cmdr Trelfar, right?"
"Of course I do Lt, she's docked here literally hundreds of times and everybody on the flight deck knows her ship by sight."
"That we do, sir. And you know how she bumped the landing pad 2 minutes ago and we gave her a fine and revoked her docking privileges?"
"Yes, damn shame after hauling 200,000t of cargo all the way out here, but rules are rules."
"Right sir, but, um... it's just there's a ship outside that looks just like hers that is requesting docking with anonymous access."
"Yes, and? Let them dock."
"Well sir, it's just... it does look exactly like her ship, sir..."
"Lt, the request says 'anonymous access', there is literally NO WAY of knowing who that ship belongs to."
"Right you are sir, approving docking request."

If I had one wish from a magical fdev genie...
I'd wish for entertainment installations both in space and on surfaces.
1. There'd only be six in the whole galaxy (5 in the bubble and 1 in colonia. This will ensure it becomes a real concentrated social hub.
2. Gambling: Let players bet on PVP matches populated by players with big rewards for bother the audience and the gladiator (if you win). You can spactate and bet in private rooms for on-foot matches, watch from your seat or use the camera function to watch.
3. Casino fun: All your usual casino games but renamed with future like sci-fi names. You can play with NPCs, your friends, or whoever is sitting at the table. You uber rich one-percenter cmdrs would finally have somewhere to burn your quintillion credits.
4. Arcade with fun mini games; community high scores and such. Maybe some galaga with friends or randoms.
5. Illegal gambling den: You need bounty or notoriety to get past the security guard. Give two cmdrs shock batons and bet on who wins. The stakes are high so you win big or lose big. You can bet your extra ships or modules if you lack money.
(Unrelated): More clothing items: People will want to walk around more of their drip is on point.
(Unrelated #2) Steaming coffee mug that you can click when looking around your cockpit. It spawns in your hand and you take sip, then it teleports back to the decor spot on the dashboard.
Declaimer: I know this is unrealistic so y'all ain't gotta tell me

Are there that many players born in 1988 ?
There have been a pretty large amount of people with 88 in their name online the past few weeks, saw more than 10 just in 2 weeks, it was pretty surreal.
And most of them had pretty nasty behavior in chat.

Playing Elite Dangerous After Star Citizen
I've played Star Citizen for \~3 years now, and I did legitimately fall in love with it, but over time the bugs and the business practices just really really got to me, and the most recent stuff with their most recent patch was sort of the nail in the coffin for me- I uninstalled and on a whim decided to try ED.
Going in, I had read that the game was boring and dead, that it was basically just a flying sim with no substance, and it's not that those are *inaccurate* assessments, but man compared to playing Star Citizen, where the world still feels bland and dead, *and* it rarely works, Elite Dangerous is incredible. I went in thinking "It literally cannot be worse than Star Citizen, and so far I was right.
Now, granted, even though the games are different, a few years of flying and navigating in SC did prepare me better than most new players so I didn't really get the skill cliff thing, but within about 70 minutes I did a few hauling contracts and bought a new ship, the Adder, so I could play with my friend later today- and it just worked! It literally just worked- I didn't lose my cargo or ship to a stupid bug, I was able to navigate systems and plot my course without error (and honestly way faster than in SC even when SC DOES work) and honestly? It was just fun too, this type of game doesn't bother me because the ideal to me is chilling with my friend doing space trucking while we yap anyway. I had a couple of hiccups- Getting to a planetary outpost was a lot more complicated than I expected, but I still had fun figuring it out.
I haven't done any of the other game loops yet, but honestly I enjoy hauling so much that I probably won't for a while anyway, at least until I feel like I need a change of pace. ED seems like a game to just kind of sit back and enjoy the ride, which is what I like, and from what I've heard the devs seem to be gearing up to add more new stuff so I feel like now might have been a good time to start too!
All in all, I came in with the expectation that this game literally could not be worse than Star Citizen, and in about an hour and a half, I had more fun doing the first like cargo/data contracts and navigating gravity wells and plotting my course through systems to optimize taking multiple contracts, AND managed to buy a new ship. I've had a lot of fun doing complicated org activities in SC, but I've never had as much fun just flying around enjoying the feeling of gliding through deep space, and to me, that makes it more than worth it- Not being able to walk around my ship sucks, but honestly, the trade off for a game that WORKS and makes me think about logistics even a little is more than worth it.

First Trip To Colonia!
So this is my first time in colonia (Just a little over 100 hours on steam) and i wanted some suggestions about things i could (Or should) do while im here. The main reason im here is because im heading out for exobiology in the galactic centre and colonia just seemed like a closer base of operations (So i wouldnt have to travel 22k Lightyears to claim my exobio)
