Better way to deep core mine?
Was trying to deep core mine in my t9 up to the shutdown (black adder crashed not withstanding let's hope they're fixing it rn) and in 2 hours only found 2 asteroids with fissures
Should I be looking for different belts? I've been hitting a low temp diamonds hot spot right near me home station (beregovoi colony) in orishpucho coz it nets decent profit but sad I rarely get use out of my seizmic charges there

Trying to find the original YT fan trailer when Frontier was asking for funding for the Dangerous reboot.
Bear with me. I'm a veteran Commander, earning coin with the old Computers/Furs shuffle back n forth in Galaxy 7, old school. I can swing into witch space and pick off Thargoids at long distance. I have docking comps which I never use. I range through long space with Pink Floyd in the background whilst I find pirates to laugh at. With 10 million in the bank, and the Gold-Plat-Gem 254 pension plan in place, I'm in a good spot in the galaxy. I even upgraded the Cobra to Empire lasers. They sound just like you think they do. (Seriously. Fire at an asteroid, and you'll be close to Alderaan)
But...
I'm trying to find something I lost contact with on YouTube. When Frontier was asking for money to reboot to Elite Dangerous, there was a guy who made a fan trailer promo. It had the 'Blue Danube' soundtrack, started off with a Cobra IV firing up in the hangar, gently undocking, getting station permissions for exit, and leaving Lave station, spinning away.
I cant find it, and if you can find it for me, I'd be very grateful.

Any Plans For Visible Bridge/Cockpit Crew?
So my four year old likes watching dad play space games, Elite in particular.
He wants to "join" me in the cockpit and asks where his guy is.
Are there any plans to add hired crew or even just tick a box for NPC bodies in seats? Doesn't even have to be functional, simply there for a little added life to the screen.

Another VR post... AA is terrible...
Finally got some time in busy day to strap on my good old HP reverb G2 head set and continue my way to Colonia with some exobiology on the road.
But graphics is simply BAD!
Aliasing especially.. all over the place. Inside cockpit it is nasty.. then land on the planet.. ugh..
Draw distance is terrible I see models loading in front of me and I have everything ramped up to ultra or high.. (ryzen 5950x, 128gb ram, 4090 gpu).. aliasing again all over the place.
And worse thing.. disembark and there is no VR anymore but big flat screen in front of eyes.
State of aliasing and overall graphic in eltie dangerous is really shamefull and having that crap on foot... I'm seconds away from just throwing towel and moving on to the rest of my VR steam library..
And just to bear in mind.. looooong loong looong tim Elite fan, since 80s and commodore 64 started with original elite...
Which makes this so much harder :(

Salomé sighted prior to Distant Worlds 3 launch
Kahina Tijani Loren, also known as CMDR Salomé, appears to have registered for the Distant Worlds 3 expedition, indicating that reports of her death at the hands of CMDR Beseiger in 3303 were premature.

An entry in the Distant Worlds 3 flight roster, which is hand-vetted by members of the expedition's staff, describes Loren's biography in the first person. "On April 29, 3303, my ship was attacked in the Anumclaw system, while I was traveling from 46 Eridani to Teorge to deliver a vital message," the biography notes. "My allies Raan Corsen, Tsu Annabelle Singh, and Yuri Nakamur escaped. Myself however ... well ... 'I was laid to rest by words, not by certainty.'"
Loren briefly served as an Imperial senator from 3300 to 3302, when she was placed on trial for an attempted assassination against Imperial Navy Adm. Denton Petraeus. The prison convoy ferrying Loren to Daibo was destroyed en route, and she disappeared for nearly a year. During this time, a two-part op-ed in the *Imperial Citizen* sharply critized the senator, writing, "She claims to have been kidnapped, abused and held to ransom, only to overcome her enemies and return the Prism system to Imperial control after a battle with the Federation. The truth is that she did nothing of the sort." The second part of the op-ed continued, "Beautiful and charismatic she may be, but she is also a bloodthirsty, selfish and manipulative individual who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals. Do not trust a word she says."
CMDR Erimus Kamzel, one of the leaders of the original Distant Worlds expedition, encountered Loren during the expedition in system Ceeckia ZQ-L c24-0, which would later be renamed Beagle Point. There, she reportedly passed along information to members of the Children of Raxxla and tasked them to return the data to the Core Systems as soon as they could. "I don't know where they're going, possibly back to the Bubble now," Kamzel reported, overflying the meeting in an Asp Explorer. "That confirmed some rumors, and created more questions that I wouldn't know how to answer."
The CoR later revealed the senator's message:
>Commanders, I am gratified to see so many of you have survived the voyage here. My heart goes out to those who lost their lives along the way. Remember them with me.
We are tens of thousands of light-years from your homes in the core worlds. What you have achieved is nothing short of breathtaking: the first mass expedition to the far side of the galaxy. Reflect on that for a moment.

The ship registered to Salomé in the Distant Worlds 3 database is an Imperial Clipper named Seven Veils, matching the ID of the ship that was impounded on Achenar in 3301 and was later destroyed by CMDR Beseiger in 3303. Its jump range is listed at 50 light-years, indicating it likely contains Guardian hybrid technology and extensive engineering that its predecessor did not possess.
Decommission my carrier before DW3 start?
Its will take approximately 4 months to complete the DW3 event then another month or so to return to the bubble.
The DW3 organizers don't want personal fleet carriers jumping to way points so servers don't get overloaded.
Is there any downsides to just decommissioned my fleet carrier since it will be left behind and basically useless?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just really cheap & don't like wasting credits. I'm actually just trying to draw attention to cmdrs not to bring your carrier to the waypoints as some cmdrs may not know.
I like the idea of leaving it in a high res area like one person suggested. Anyone want me to put it somewhere I have most services turned on with no tariffs. Let me know.

I just did Exo-Bio for my FC. Here's my takeaway
For the last three months, I have been doing Exobiology scans to get my Fleet Carrier and it has been rough. Really FUCKING rough. But worth it! Just click the stratum and get 19 mil. Seems easy right? Well...it was...just arduous. However since I'm at the end of this amazing journey I realize now it was less about the objective and the more about the sights I saw on the way.
I always have and always will be a bit of a rambler irl, I've moved three states in two years, traveled the entire circumference of the earth four times over just because I can't stay still in one particular area for very long without getting antsy. When I picked this game back up a few months back, it supplanted my need to go anywhere. Why go anywhere and everywhere when the literal galaxy's the limit? I met a group of bang-up lads, got two systems to my name, innumerable more discovered that are tied to me, saw some pretty crazy alien plants, and land features that make what I've seen seem small in comparison.
This game somehow fixed my desire for wonderlust and rambling. Why the hell did I ever stop playing?
I figure that when I am done with my needs in my two systems, I'm just gonna fly out to a far-off corner of the galaxy and see what else is out there. And I'll be sure to take pictures this time!

Landable SLF
If anyone from frontier watch this page. Please as a landable SLF. You can make it useless for combat. We just want it for exobio, to avoid trying to land large ships of bad terrain.
You gave us the Caspian. Which is amazing. But to complete that package and the ultimate exploration ship. It needs to be able to give players easier access to terrain that isn’t favourable to large ships.
A SLF, perhaps one that can only be used by the Caspian, that has landing gear, would be utterly amazing. And really bring gameplay to another level. Especially for VR and roleplay users.

To FDEV: an open letter from a veteran VR CMDR
I booted up Elite: Dangerous for the first time in 2015, not long after the game’s launch. It was me, my trusty 3DPro joystick, an aging laptop, and the wide open galaxy. I played my first hundred hours this way, getting past most of the initial learning curve, and becoming absolutely hooked in the process. Though, the more I played, the more it became apparent that my hardware was struggling to keep pace.
After some planning and saving up, I built my first gaming PC in 2016— though relatively modest, the experience was leagues ahead of what my laptop was capable of. After my joystick started to drift pretty badly, I graduated to a HOTAS; another absolute game changer.
However, those pale in comparison to the next hardware jump I took about a year after— the Oculus CV1.
The experience of it all is hard to forget. Opening the box, speedrunning through the setup, and finally… experiencing my favorite game in true virtual reality. My final pancake session was spent running errands in my Asp Explorer. I still remember the extreme giddiness fading into pure awe, once I loaded in to that fishbowl cockpit.
I. Was. In. Love. I went from sitting at a desk, to sitting in my spaceship. It truly brought new magic to every task in-game. I was fully taking in the sights while exploring, tracking targets in combat by just turning my head— even the side panels would pop up when I simply turned to look at them. It turned Elite from a PC game, into an experience.
These days, I’m rocking a Quest 3, VKB stick + omnithrottle, and a decently capable VR rig that is basically just an Elite: Dangerous machine. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
To Frontier: please don’t forget that you have developed one of the best VR experiences to date. I know it’s not really feasible to develop a full, on-foot experience with motion controls like some people ask for. But please: don’t abandon virtual reality entirely.
P.S: if you fix anti-aliasing in VR, I will buy $500 in ARX.

(Apologies if well known) PSA: turning flight assist off at the final 10-5 meters of landing can make it much easier
I used to land with F but sometimes it doesn't work, turning flight assist off makes things so much easier, if there is a small hill or something the ship will easily land instead of struggling against you.
And obviously don't do it higher than like 3-5m on high G worlds.
(This is assuming you are good to land, it doesn't make you able to land in areas you previously couldn't, just makes the landing process itself easier)

A trick for accumulating encoded mats...
I didn't realize this trick for far too long. I never had anyone suggest it and I didn't think of it until a few months ago. After having someone again telling me they wish they had known I thought I would post it here.
Its just a slow way to collect encoded mats over time but after awhile it adds up.
If you are doing alot of bouncing around in either of the bubbles and have no need of any specific sensor engineering then go for a Wide Angle mod. As you wander around and see other ships everywhere, make it a habit to scan them all. Over time you can accumulate alot of mats. Over a month of going all over the bubble putzing around I have had to hit the material trader a couple times due to having some of the mats fill up. Even if you don't use an engineered sensor you can still do this.
It all adds up...

It's unknown when or if Loren will make a public appearance. Given the circumstances surrounding her apparent death nine years ago, she may emerge from the shadows at a point along Distant Worlds 3's carefully protected route, though she just may be audacious enough to proclaim her continued survival in a much more public manner as the flotilla prepares for its departure on Sunday.

"Black Adder": laser mining issue with Type-9
So I've been mining Bromellite for the CG for a couple of days. All good until now.
After dropping into the instance, shooting off a prospector limpet, firing off the mining volley repeater, releasing several collector limpets and slowly getting some chunks into the refinery, the connection cuts off with "unrecoverable error on transaction server. error code: black adder".
This happened 5-6 times and it seems I'm not the only one. I've logged into Frontier and added my issue report, so let's hope this gets resolved asap.

The Future of Player Owned Minor Factions?
So I'm aware frontier took down the application for PMFs, but also stated they would eventually add a better way for people to create them again in the future.
But was that supposed to be the squadrons update...?
Kinda stinks now that we can colonize an infinite number of new systems we cant populate them with new factions of our own. So I hope vanguard's was not what they meant by this, and sometime in 2026 we will get an integrated function tied to colonization or the squadrons system for creating our own PMFs once again.

Pros and cons of PvE combat ships?
I'm trying to find info on combat ships and having some trouble. Currently, I'm using a Krait mkII and enjoying it a lot- however, I don't really wanna use an SLF because of the rank gain reduction. I like how maneuverable and fast it is, but from what I gather, not using an SLF on this ship is kind of limiting me. A lot of info on ships seems a bit outdated, so I'm wondering what the current climate is like.
I'm mostly talking about ships for pirate massacre or assassination missions. I know there's no single best ship (depends on who you ask, I suppose) but I'd love to know what each popular ship does well, and what they do poorly. I hear a lot about the Corvette, the FdL and others, but most people focus on the positives which makes it hard to tell what they actually do.
Thanks in advance for any help in figuring out which ship I wanna try next (or, at least, until I have enough rank to feel comfortable using an SLF)
For reference, I'm currently using the engineered Krait mkII build on the Pilots Trade Network website. Not sure if this is a reliable source, but it seems solid enough. Would appreciate any resources on builds on any ships you recommend, if you have any :D
