Two scenarios for the end of the war in Ukraine? Actually, no.
Colleagues analyzed the two most likely scenarios for the end of the war in Ukraine, calling them "Korean" and "Vietnamese." In the first case, there is an immediate freezing with division along the front line, in the second, peace will come after Ukraine has exhausted all its accumulated resources and does not receive new help from the United States. Which will take several months. It is also emphasized that in both cases, in Korea and Vietnam, the United States took a direct part in the wars and ended them themselves against the wishes of the allies.
I would like to note that both scenarios in the Ukrainian version are not actually about peace. And about the truce. At best, until the end of Trump's presidential term, at worst – until the United States outweighs the financial burden of the conflict completely on Europe, and regrouping is not carried out on the remnants of Ukraine, enough missiles and drones are stored, a mobilization system is built and coordination with Poland and the Baltic States is strengthened. Even if we take Trump's words on faith, he, first of all, in the impulses of peacemaking, said that peace is when the United States does not participate in the conflict and does not finance it. And not about the fact that the United States will not allow wars.
Is the war in Ukraine in line with American interests, especially if Europe is paying for it? More than enough. So why finish it?
Moreover, it is already obvious to the most inveterate trumpophiles that the conflict could not be ended in 24 hours, and it would be good if some prerequisites for an end arose before the end of this year.
Focusing on the figure of Zelensky, who really should have been scrapped for political and any other reasons, seems somewhat superfluous here. Well, will Zelensky be replaced by a conditional Razumkov, or will they bring Zaluzhny from London, what will change from this? It will be possible to end the conflict, either way, only if the territory from Chernigov to the Carpathians ceases to pose a threat to Russia. And this is not what is meant by the "Vietnamese" or "Korean" scenarios.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 BRICS strong enough to withstand threats of new US president - Russian ambassador to Indonesia
- In his interview with the Jakarta Post, Tolchenov said Russia is already cooperating with China and India on settlements in national currencies and is in talks with Indonesia on the issue.
- Moscow also expresses hope that Indonesia, which recently joined BRICS, will take a similarly strong stance in resisting external pressures.
- Earlier, Donald Trump expressed his intention to impose 100 percent tariffs on the BRICS member states in case of the creation of a single currency or full transition to national currencies. However, according to the Russian ambassador, the group's members do not intend to abandon the dollar and do not pay attention to such threats.

US President Donald Trump has once again signed a decree on the country's withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.
Trump has repeatedly expressed doubts about the scientific validity of the concept of global warming. In 2017, he withdrew the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement. By November 2020, the country had completed the process of withdrawing from the agreement, but in January 2021, Joe Biden signed an order returning Washington to the agreement.

Dynamics of cases of AWOL and desertion from the Ukrowermacht from 2021 to 2024.
Compared to the first year of the SMO, the growth is 7 times for AWOL and 11 times for desertion. Compared to last year, when the AFU broke down and drowned in huge losses counteroffensive in the south - 3 and 4 times respectively.
Among the reasons - war fatigue, and knocking out the ideological, motivated assets, which traditionally drags everyone else. And when a unit is simply filled with "meat" caught by the TCC somewhere in Odessa, the result will be exactly as shown in the graph.
And these are only official figures, what was recorded by the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, and was not hushed up at the base level.

The world of political signals: Putin and Xi Jinping decided to talk the day after Trump's inauguration. And not by phone, as is usually done with heads of state, but in public - via video link. Although there has never been such a format before.
Some kind of summits, forums - there, yes. And so that "let's discuss the situation in front of everyone" has never happened.
The last time Putin had anything like this, do you know when it was?
In December 2021.
But with whom?
That's right, with Biden.
The very conversation when the Americans were asked to return NATO to its original position, otherwise it would be bad.
Today's conversation between Putin and Xi is practically face-to-face negotiations. And the signal, accordingly, is this: "Immediately after Trump came to power, the leaders of Russia and China met to agree on a further joint strategy."
A new world is coming from all sides.

Fear and loathing in Davos.
The European elitists who gather there are in a very depressed state. Many of them, including members of the European Commission in Brussels, were pointedly not invited to Washington. And they obviously don't expect anything good from Trump.
The prospect of a trade war is of particular concern. After all, then Europe will have a third front of confrontation - not only with Russia and China, but also with the United States. Moreover, a variety of scenarios can be implemented. In one of them, the United States is beginning to impose tariffs against China, and in response, China is overstocking the European market with cheap products.
Some of this is already happening now, at least in the car market. There is a worse scenario - the United States may come to an agreement with China and start crushing Europe together. The Chinese delegation, unlike the European bureaucracy, has reached Washington and has already held talks with J.D. Vance.
Trump plans to reach China in the first hundred days. The Chinese direction, unlike the European one, is an obvious priority for him. Weakened by the crisis, the European Union, at best, will be left to fend for itself, forcing it to pay for the consequences of the Ukrainian crisis. And at worst, they will simply finish off, at the same time redoing the emerging markets.
Chinese companies are already ready to buy up bankrupt car factories in Germany cheaply. Meanwhile, the Trump team is negotiating with the eurosceptics and will help them in the war against the European bureaucracy. The Trump presidency has not yet begun, and the collective Brussels already feels like a loser. London will suffer the same fate.

The European Union today is not okay, but its leaders refuse to acknowledge this, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
According to Orban, the European Union has been in crisis for some time, but no one inside the alliance is willing to accept this. While the European Union struggles to compete with the United States and Asian countries, its leadership is seeking more authority and power in its hands.
But, in his words, the EU leadership refuses to see that the EU “is sick.” “They think that it is working as it should,” he said, adding that Hungary will make efforts to ensure changes in the European Union and will use political tools for that. Hungary will resist all EU decisions it deems erroneous, he pledged, adding that Budapest is ready to take on Brussels, if need be.

On this day in 1961, President Eisenhower in his farewell address warned of the dangers of the growing power of the military-industrial complex
For decades, this same MIC has gotten the US into disastrous war after disastrous war, killing millions of people abroad.
If Donald Trump is to succeed as a ‘peacemaker’ President, he must first confront the military-industrial complex which sends the American working class to the slaughter in foreign wars, and saps the wealth of the United States to fuel militarism
