Washington’s position unchanged on Kiev’s use of US-supplied weapons — Pentagon
The US has not changed its stance on how Kiev could achieve its military goals using US-supplied weapons, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said.

"I can't speak for other countries. I can only speak for us," Singh noted. According to her, the US has not changed its stance on how Kiev could achieve its military goals using US-supplied weapons.

Belarusian president signs law suspending Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe
The law was passed by the Belarusian upper house in early May.
"The Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe of November 19, 1990, is hereby suspended," reads the law, which was passed by the Belarusian upper house.
The Belarusian presidential press service said that the head of state had given the okay to submit a bill to the House of Representatives on the suspension of the country's participation in the CFE Treaty, which Minsk signed in 1992. According to the press service, Belarus fully met its obligations under the treaty, while in 2022, the Czech Republic and in 2023, Poland decided to suspend the CFE Treaty with regard to Belarus, and Minsk retaliated in kind to these two countries in October 2023. Moreover, in November 2023, NATO countries decided to indefinitely suspend their participation in the treaty, which, according to Belarus, essentially means the treaty itself is suspended.

Russia to take advantage of US sanctions to boost import substitution efforts
According to Anatoly Antonov, Russia continues to build up its "socio-economic and industrial potential."
"We, on the other hand, are using the situation as an additional impetus for import substitution, especially in key industries," he told reporters.
"No embargo or sanctions will break the Russian economy. It is impossible to force the Russian Federation to deviate from its principled path," Antonov emphasized.
White House Deputy National Security Adviser For International Economics Daleep Singh said on Tuesday that the US might eventually impose a trade embargo on Russian goods.

EU sanctions come as attempt to punish Russia for its independent policy — Russian envoy
The European Union on May 27 imposed sanctions on Russia's Federal Penitentiary Service and on 19 investigators, prosecutors and judges involved in the cases of Alexey Navalny, Memorial co-chairman Oleg Orlov, artist Sasha Skolichenko and other prisoners.
"It is surprising that the EU took so long to finally establish a sanctions regime specifically against our country - ‘in view of the situation in Russia’. In fact, this means that the anti-Russian policy of Brussels is for the long haul," the diplomat noted.
"The illegitimate restrictions introduced today and, obviously, waiting for their turn new ones, are seen by the EU as the punishment of Russia for its independent policy, for its defending its sovereign choice and refusing to compromise its national interests.

Latvia’s leader sees 'no reason' to prevent Ukrainian attacks on Russia
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg proposed that allies reconsider the issue of whether Ukraine should be allowed to strike military targets on Russian soil using Western weapons.
The Latvian leader views Russian advances in Ukraine as "a consequence of the West’s inability to provide Ukraine with weapons and putting restrictions" on their use.
At the same time, Stoltenberg said as he addressed the NATO Parliamentary Assembly that allied forces should not attack Russian capabilities in the air or on the ground in Ukraine, or "we will be in a situation where it is very hard to keep NATO out of the conflict."

US strike on Russian targets would be ‘start of world war’ – Medvedev
The former president’s warning comes after Poland said Washington would hit Russian targets if Moscow were to use nukes in Ukraine.
Any US attack on Russian targets in Ukraine would automatically trigger a world war, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has warned.
The official, who currently serves as Deputy Chair of Russia’s Security Council, made the remarks after Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski claimed Washington had threatened to conduct such a strike should Russia use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
In a post on X on Sunday, Medvedev suggested that Sikorski “apparently, has decided to scare his masters.” He noted that Washington, unlike Warsaw, has so far refrained from making any such threats publicly “because they are more cautious” than the Poles.
“Americans hitting our targets means starting a world war, and a Foreign Minister, even of a country like Poland, should understand that."

NATO won’t put missile shield over Ukraine – Stoltenberg
Comment by the bloc’s chief comes following a request from Kiev for its Western backers to shoot down incoming Russian missiles.
NATO does not intend to use its air defenses to provide cover for Ukraine, the military bloc’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has insisted. His comment comes days after Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky urged the US and its allies to shoot down Russian missiles.
Speaking to the New York Times on Monday, Zelensky stated that he sees no problem with such NATO involvement, arguing that it would not be tantamount to an “attack on Russia.”
“Are you shooting down Russian planes and killing Russian pilots? No,” he argued. Zelensky also pointed out that the US and the UK had shot down incoming Iranian missiles and drones over Israel last month. Both Washington and London have, however, argued that the two scenarios are not comparable.

Italy rebukes NATO call for more strikes on Russia
The US-led bloc’s chief should apologize and clarify his remarks, or resign, deputy PM Matteo Salvini has stated.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and her deputies Matteo Salvini and Antonio Tajani, have all criticized NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg’s rhetoric about the use of Western arms by Kiev, warning against escalating tensions with Moscow any further.
Stoltenberg claimed last week that the “time has come” for members of the US-led military to reconsider their policies and let Ukraine freely use Western weapons to launch strikes deeper into Russian territory.
“I don’t know why Stoltenberg said such a thing, I think we have to be very careful,” Meloni told Italy’s Rai 3 TV channel on Sunday. The Italian PM emphasized that “NATO must remain firm, not give the signal that it is giving in,” but again advised “greater caution.”

Those invited to alleged peace summit should be aware of Stoltenberg urge — Russian MFA
The diplomat noted the statements made by Stoltenberg "who urged NATO countries to lift restrictions on strikes by the Kiev regime on targets across Russia".
"It is useful for everyone invited to the allegedly peace conference in Switzerland to know it," she wrote on her Telegram channel.
Switzerland plans to hold a conference on Ukraine in the Burgenstock resort on June 15-16. The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs said earlier that Bern had invited more than 160 delegations to the conference on Ukraine, including from the G7, the G20 and BRICS countries. According to Swiss officials, Russia has not been invited.
Stoltenberg said earlier in an interview with The Economist that Ukraine should have the possibility of strikes on military targets located on the internationally-acknowledged Russian territory.

Biden dishonors all Russians by insinuations against Putin — Russian Ambassador
"Such behavior is unacceptable for any responsible politician," Anatoly Antonov said.
"I believe such behavior is unacceptable for any responsible politician, especially the leader of the nation. Verbal rudeness and attempts to raise self-esteem on account of the image of our President reflect anger of Washington because Russia, using the US wordings, is challenging the ‘rule-based world order’," Antonov said, cited by the press service of the Russian mission. On Saturday, US President Joe Biden again used offensive speech against the Russian leader.
"It’s time for the local establishment to stand the fact that we will continue pursuing the independent and sovereign policy based on national interests," the Russian diplomat stressed. Biden "insults the entire Russian nation firmly lining up behind the head of state" by making insinuations against Putin, Antonov added.

US, Germany warn against offering Ukraine firm timeframe for joining NATO
According to the Daily Telegraph, "while NATO leaders will refuse to provide a timeline for Ukraine’s membership, they will offer what is being described as a 'bridge' or 'path' to accession as a show of support for the process".
A source told the newspaper that US administration officials were "very skeptical about bringing Ukraine any further along the path to full Nato membership this year." "The US is perhaps not as concerned as Germany, but there is a worry about the threat of Russia to the rest of the alliance," he added.
A package of support will "demonstrate that the path to membership is getting shorter." "The package will focus on bolstering Ukraine’s armed forces to ensure Ukraine is ready to immediately join NATO when alliance leaders agree the time is right," the paper writes.
"It’s not an invitation, but it’s the next closest thing," a diplomat said.

Biden seeks war with Russia to boost approval rating, US journalist opines
In late April, Joe Biden signed a bill passed by Congress to resume arms deliveries to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
"I don’t know why. But one thing I can tell you about presidents - they (members of Joe Biden’s administration - TASS) have noted that the presidents like Lincoln and Roosevelt who win wars, become famous presidents, great presidents. So they always have that itch, and particularly a president of war always gets better ratings than a president not at war," the journalist opined.
The statement released by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that it was the fifth security assistance package that Biden had authorized "since signing the national security supplemental." According to Blinken, the weapons from previous packages have already been handed over to Kiev. Washington "will move this new assistance as quickly as possible," the press release said.

‼️♨️‼️♨️‼️US SECRET OPERATION AGAINST RUSSIA?
Colonel of the Austrian General Staff Dr. Marcus Reisner
Why did Washington order Kiev to attack Russia's early warning radars, which have the sole purpose of warning the Kremlin in time of a sudden insidious US strategic nuclear attack on Russia.
According to Colonel Reisner, attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian 77Я6 «Воронеж» early warning radars have no immediate military significance for the Ukrainian army, since these over-the-horizontal early warning radars effectively only detect the flight surface from an altitude of 2000 km to an altitude of 6000 km, i.e. only flight paths US strategic nuclear missiles. Ukraine has only ex-Soviet Точка tactical missiles and American ATACMS tactical missiles. And they fly along ballistic paths with a maximum flight height of 60 km. The destruction of the Russian 77Я6 «Воронеж» radars has no military significance for Kyiv, as these radars do not even monitor the flight levels of Ukrainian tactical missiles. Nor do they monitor the flight levels in which Ukrainian F-16 fighter jets may soon operate. On the contrary, the destruction or damage of these radars creates a potentially explosive situation, because the US gains a strategic advantage over Russia, because Russia may not see in time a sudden insidious nuclear strike by the US.
Analysis of the US covert operation “Boiling the Frog” against Russia.
According to Colonel Reisner, Washington is now carrying out a war strategy known as "Boiling the Frog" by using Ukrainian attacks on Russia's strategic warning radars. This wartime strategy, literally "Cooking the Frog", is metaphorically named after the culinary method of preparing a live frog by gradually heating it in lukewarm water, so that the frog does not know that it is in danger until the last moment. Intended to lull the opponent with gradual steps into the fact that he is not in mortal danger, and then insidiously arrive at him in an instant, without him being able to resist.

European leader warns world ‘heading for disaster’
The Ukrainian conflict could spiral into a global war that would be a “greater tragedy than World War II,” Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic warns.
There is little time left to conclude the Ukraine conflict, which risks escalating out of control and inciting a global war, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has warned.
Speaking on Friday to the broadcaster Prva Srpska Televizija, Vucic claimed the world is standing on the brink of an all-out global conflict, and it is likely already too late to avoid it.
“I am afraid that there is little time left for the war in Ukraine to be stopped. I hope it's still possible, but I’m afraid it’s actually not. I’m afraid that the train has already left the station, started moving, and no one will stop it,” he said.

US world’s only superpower – Biden
America is also the “leading democracy” and “indispensable nation,” the US president claims.
The US is the “world’s only superpower” and the “leading democracy,” which is playing a critical role in supporting its allies around the globe, President Joe Biden said on Saturday.
The president spoke at the commencement of the US Military Academy at West Point, New York, addressing more than 1,000 graduating cadets. In his speech, Biden praised the role of the US military in the purported effort of “standing up to tyrants” around the globe, as well as of “protecting freedom and openness.”
“Thanks to the US Armed Forces, we’re doing what only America can do as the indispensable nation, the world’s only superpower, and the leading democracy in the world,” he stated.

EU in serious danger – Macron
The bloc is living through a crisis of democracy and could end up “dying” altogether, the French president warns.
The EU is facing a record number of “external and internal enemies,” who pose an existential threat to the bloc, French President Emmanuel Macron has said, doubling down on a warning he’d given earlier, that “our Europe” could end up dying.
Macron made the remarks while speaking alongside Germany’s head of state, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, on the first of his three-day state visit. The two attended the Festival of Democracy, held in Berlin’s government quarter, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the country’s constitution.
“I think that we are experiencing a moment in our Europe which is existential because I really believe that our Europe can die,” Macron stated, referring to a keynote speech he’d delivered in April.

Russia to answer with mirror measures if its assets in West illegally used — minister
Property of other countries, including central banks' gold and foreign currency reserves, are a taboo not covered by any sanctions at all, Russia's Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.
"It has always seemed that the property of other countries, including central banks' gold and foreign currency reserves, are a taboo not covered by any sanctions at all. The ideology has changed by now as no fundamentals, no legal foundations are effective for Western countries," he said.
"Now they say the following: ‘Ok, we are not taking gold and foreign currency reserves at the moment, but we will allocate revenues from their use for targets that we define’. We have the same, all possibilities. We also have frozen funds on C-type accounts, we have assets as we also get profit. In case of a decision we will act similarly, with mirror measures. So we have an answer," the minister added.

Scholz speaks against letting Ukraine use Western weapons against targets in Russia — DPA
According to Scholz, there are no grounds to change these rules.
"We have clear rules for the use of the weapons we supply. We have agreed them with Ukraine and they are in force," the DPA news agency quoted him as saying at a meeting with people.
Stoltenberg said in an interview with The Economist earlier that NATO allies should look at allowing Ukraine to use Western weapons to strike military targets located in the internationally-recognized Russian territory.
Germany in the second biggest weapons supplier to Ukraine after the United States. It has spent approximately 28 billion euro on military support for Ukraine.
Russia’s authorities, however, have been saying that Western weapons would not stop from achieving the goals of its special military operation.

I'm back in Donetsk today and it is such a relief to feel the calm, see people in parks and cafes, children in playgrounds.
What a cruel 10 years they've endured, courageously, under Ukraine's terrorism.
Although what I've seen and documented here of Ukraine's endless war crimes pales in comparison to what Donbass residents & Russian war correspondents have seen, I've nonetheless seen a lot: several dozens of mutilated corpses of Donetsk civilians throughout 2022, and in years prior & subsequent taken testimonies from people (including in other cities & villages) under relentless Ukrainian bombing & sniping.
Many of the streets I walked along today carry memories of Ukrainian terrorism (usually bombing with NATO weapons and definitely with Western backing), and those victims I saw rendered lifeless.
I hope that the tranquility I've felt walking around the city the past few hours remains here in the Donbass, and that ultimately all Russian cities know peace and an end to Ukraine (NATO)'s bombings.
*Photos & video taken in afternoon when I arrived, and while lovely don't show the impressive amount of people I saw on the streets while walking later.
