I have just had an exceptionally productive meeting with Health Minister Maria Caulfield regarding reinstating maternity services at Rochdale Infirmary.
She agrees that it is absurd that you cannot be born in Rochdale unless en route in the taxi to Oldham.
We now have a high-level plan to reinstate Maternity Services in Rochdale, and I will be meeting with the Heads of the Integrated Care Board and Hospital Trust to make this a reality.
Labour oversaw the closure of Maternity. Not one Labour MP signed my motion in Parliament to reinstate maternity.
While Labour fail the town, we work for the #RochdaleRevival. I'm proud to announce maternity services are now planned to be reinstated in Rochdale in 2025.
