Day by day, what I notice is that I’m developing obsession with TASK 1.

During the lessons, I usually pick a graph at random - the one that I haven’t seen before and describe it while explaining it in front of the students. And I genuinely enjoy it❤️♥️

This enjoyment, in turn, allows me to get ever more creative.

They say ‘if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life’ and this started to make a lot of sense ✌️❤️

The pie chart shows how water was used in Australia in 2004. The bulk of water allocation was dedicated to the residential use, with other categories contributing only a small proportion to the total water usage. Within residential usage, the majority was allocated to gardens and bathroom, with laundry and toilet usage following closely behind. Kitchen usage accounted for a relatively small portion of the overall water allocation.

The total water usage in Australia showed an uneven distribution. Residential consumption accounted for a staggering 70% of the total water, while industries and businesses shared 10% each. The government’s water usage was twice that of other unspecified purposes, 6% compared to 3%.

There were considerable variations in how water is broken down in residential usage. The proportion of water used for garden and bathroom was the highest, with respective figures of 28% and 27%. A fifth of water was dedicated to washing clothes, as opposed to toilets that required 15%. Lastly, only 10% of the total residential water was used in the kitchen.

Honesty is the best policy. There is a view that this popular proverb is highly applicable to relationships between people, whether they are friendships, romantic partnerships, family connections, or professional relationships. I believe that being honest and truthful is the most fundamental pillar of healthy and thriving relationships as it promotes openness among people, improves communication, and contributes to the longevity of the relationship.

Truthfulness fosters openness in relationships. When people are honest with each other, it creates an environment where they feel comfortable expressing themselves and sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. This, in turn, promotes deeper connections and allows for genuine understanding between people. By contrast, when truthfulness is lacking in a relationship, it leads to suspicion, doubt, and insecurity.

Additionally, being open and honest leads to better communication between people. Honest communication is crucial for effective and meaningful interactions as it allows for open discussions, problem-solving, and addressing conflicts in a productive manner. Without open and truthful dialogue, issues remain unresolved, and resentment can build. The relationship may suffer from a lack of clarity and understanding.

Truthfulness can also help relationships last long. When there is a culture of honesty and trust, it strengthens the bond between individuals, while being dishonest or concealing the truth can fracture these bonds. Constant dishonesty or lying can result in emotional distance between people, and as a result, the relationship may become strained or even irreparable.

In conclusion, truth is the most important component of any relationship because it leads to transparency, better interactions, and stability between couples, family members, friends, and colleagues. Without it, relationships hardly ever thrive

The line graphs show the percentage of households who owned three types of electrical appliances and how much time they spent on house-chores in a week from 1920 to 2019. Overall,  the proportion of households with these appliances grew over the years, with those for refrigerator and vacuum cleaner seeing the biggest changes. Additionally, there seems to be a correlation between the ownership of those devices and how much time was allocated to doing house-chores as people spent increasingly less time doing house-chores by 2019.

The figures for refrigerator and vacuum cleaner ownership exhibited similar changes. In 1920, 30% of households had vacuum cleaners, considerably more than those who owned refrigerators, with around 2%. This disparity, however, became less pronounced by 1960, as the figure for the former reached 70% and the latter rose to 90%. The figures continued their trajectory into 2000s, when they both hit their peaks of 100% and remained stable for the rest of the period.

The proportion of households with a washing machine, on the other hand, bucked the trend somewhat. Starting at 40%, it experienced a noticeable increase to 70%
in 1960. Despite falling to about 65% in 1980, it staged a recovery to approximately 75% by 2019.

In contrast, the number of hours spent completing house-chores saw consistent falls. In 1920, people allocated a staggering 50 hours a week for these activities, a figure that then dropped to 35 hours in 1940 and then to 20 in 1960. After a minimal decline to 15 hours in 2000, the figure hit its chart low of just 10 hours in the final year.

The bar chart compares the percentage of people using the internet in five European countries and the accompanying pie chart shows how much money people from these countries spent on online shopping in 2010. Overall, the proportion of people who had access to the internet was highest in Sweden, followed distantly by the UK and Germany but France and especially Spain exhibited relatively smaller figures. On the other hand, when it comes to online shopping expenditure, the UK and Sweden were at the forefront, with France and Germany showing lower but comparable figures. Additionally, Spain trailed all behind significantly.

The rates of internet access exhibited considerable variations. 35% of Swedish population could use the internet, considerably more than those from the UK, where 20% were connected to the internet. The percentage discrepancy, however, was less pronounced between Germany and France, with respective figures of 15% and 10%. Lastly, only 5% of Spanish population had internet access in 2010.

A similar scenario can be observed in the online shopping expenditure. In this category, the British population outspent their Swedish counterparts, with an average expenditure of $87 and $76. While 57$ was expended by people from France, Germans allocated a little less, at 46$. Spanish people again lagged behind significantly, with the lowest amount of money spent on online shopping($10).

The bar chart compares how much time was spent on a range of free time activities by the youngest and oldest American population in 2015. Overall, watching TV was the most popular activity among both age groups though older people dedicated much more hours to this pastime. In addition to television, young people tended to prioritize socializing, playing computer games and engaging in sports, while old people spent more time reading and relaxing.

Older people showed consistently higher engagement in activities such as watching TV, reading, and relaxing/thinking. On average, older population spent 4.5 hours watching TV, a substantial contrast to the younger age group, who allocated under 2.5 hours to the same activity. Regarding reading, older people devoted one hour of spare time, whereas those from the 15-19 age bracket spent about 10 minutes. A similar pattern was observed in relaxing/thinking, with older people dedicating over half an hour compared to 5 minutes spent by their younger counterparts.

A completely different picture can be observed in the remaining activities. Socializing showed somewhat similar figures, with younger people spending a little more at around 45 minutes. However, this disparity grew bigger in playing video games or computer use as younger people spent almost twice as much time as older people, 65 minutes compared to 30. Lastly, younger individuals allocated little over 30 minutes for doing sports but this figure stood at less than 15 minutes for those aged over 75.

Some people think the qualities a person needs to become successful in today’s world cannot be learned at a university or similar academic institutions.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

University education has long been considered an important element of a person’s success. This conventional notion, however, is now challenged by people who think that what contributes to the success of a person, such as the necessary qualities, cannot be gained through education at universities or schools. In my opinion, formal education still remains an important determinant of a person’s success as it teaches people a range of skills.

The university education is mostly theoretical. This excessive focus on theoretical concepts without the opportunities for practical application creates a gap between what is learned in the classroom and the skills needed in professional settings. Take my country – Uzbekistan. Most university students have to study around 10 subjects during an academic year, without hands-on and practical experiences. Therefore, most of the students feel they are not ready to start their career after their graduation. This often leads people to question the relevance of university education altogether.

Despite this concern, I tend to think academic education equips students with a number of skills that contribute to their success in the long term. Firstly, when students deal with the load of tasks at university, whether it be completing their assignments or preparing presentations, they learn how to effectively manage their time. Being able to juggle multiple tasks is an important skill, especially in today’s fast-paced job market as it can increase productivity.

Additionally, university education promotes collaboration and teamwork. When students work with each other as part of their studies in universities, they can understand the importance of dividing tasks equitably, taking turns, and making unanimous decisions. Such skills can prove useful
once students enter the workforce since successful career often involves co-operation.

In conclusion, academic knowledge gained in universities may not be what it takes to become successful. However, this does not negate the significance of formal education in a person’s success as it plays a pivotal role in helping students acquire essential skills, such as time management and collaboration.

People nowadays tend to have children at older ages.
Do the advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Many parents these days opt for later parenthood. While this demographic shift entails several drawbacks, they are outweighed by the benefits.

Generation gap can be the main concern for parents who have children at older ages. When parents and children have a significant age difference, parents may find it difficult to relate to or understand their children. This difficulty in connection may lead to conflicts, misunderstanding, and emotional distance, ultimately impacting bonds within the family.

The increased health risks can be another disadvantage. Older mothers, in particular, may face challenges during pregnancy and childbirth. This can even lead to other age-related complications as older parents may struggle to have energy and stamina required to raise a child.

However, the advantages of having children at older ages are far greater. One main upside is parents tend to be more emotionally mature and experienced. Such parents are better positioned for conflict resolution compared to younger parents, who often tend to be reactionary due to their lack of life experience. This can contribute to the stability of the family.

Additionally, many people are likely to achieve financial independence at older ages. The reason why most people choose to postpone parenthood is that they focus on personal development and career advancement. Naturally, most of these people have a stable career into their thirties. This financial stability enables parents to raise their children with confidence, knowing they can adequately provide for their needs.

In conclusion, there are a number of negatives to having children at older ages such as the considerable age difference and health risks. However, these are not as significant as the positives, including emotional maturity of parents and financial security.

I just realized that Romeo and Juliet was written in the late 16th century but Farhad and Shirin was written FIVE centuries earlier.

But the general plot is the same. Suspicious.

In Farhad and Shirin, Khusrow misinforms Farhad that Shirin committed a suicide and then Farhad kills himself and then Shirin finds out about this and kills herself.

In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet fakes her death but Romeo is misinformed and then kills himself and then Juliet finds out about this and kills herself😂

To me, the stories of unrequited love in Arabic poetry are unrivaled♥️❤️
