🇸🇾The situation in Syria

🔴Syria is currently a fragmented country, and the new government is facing major challenges. One of the most important is how to obtain sufficient funding from foreign sponsors to equip the newly established army. Ninety percent of Syria’s military infrastructure and weaponry was destroyed by Israeli airstrikes at the end of last year.

🔴The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Druze groups in Suwayda province have outlined conditions for joining the new Syrian army, which hosts many al-Qaeda-affiliated factions.

🔴It is estimated that more than 60 armed groups are operating across Syria. Over half of these groups are part of the Syrian National Army (SNA), thought to have around 80,000 fighters. Its main task is to weaken or eliminate the SDF. The rest operate in alliances or independently; however, their politics or agendas may conflict with Damascus's policies and programs.

🔴The SDF has expressed a preliminary willingness to join Syria’s armed forces only as an independent unit. However, this proposal was rejected by the new government in Damascus. Forcing compliance could create complications for interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa because, without an agreement with the Kurds, the SNA will likely remain under Ankara’s control, posing a serious obstacle for Damascus in its efforts to consolidate power by creating a unified military force.

🔴Al-Sharaa ruled Idlib with an iron fist, employing repression and a takfiri policy to suppress dissent and impose harsh punishments under Sharia law. He received U.S. support by eliminating independent group leaders who could challenge him. However, he can no longer maintain the same level of brutality in Idlib because he would face potential resistance and backlash from the so-called "remnants of the regime" or from within his own unreliable militia ranks. Al-Sharaa is trying to survive in inescapable organized chaos where his leadership is subject to the whims of regional powers who could revoke their security guarantees at any moment and allow him to fall.

🔴Another real threat in this context is the active resurgence of ISIS. With an estimated 2,500 active fighters in Syria and Iraq, the resurgent terrorist group poses a serious challenge to Damascus. The al-Sharaa regime's control is weak, particularly in Deir ez-Zor province and the Badiya Desert, where ISIS cells operate with impunity.

🔴ISIS's attacks in Suwayda province in May 2025 marked the first direct assault on the new Syrian regime and represented a notable shift in ISIS's tactics, according to military experts. By targeting convoys and checkpoints, ISIS aims to undermine the new government's authority and portray it as incapable of ensuring stability.

🔴ISIS maintains significant financial reserves, including $100–300 million in hidden assets. These funds support a decentralized command structure that allows provincial cells to operate autonomously while coordinating broader campaigns. The group has acquired modern weapons, including anti-tank missiles and drones, from looted regime stockpiles. In the Badiya Desert, ISIS has established a network of training camps and logistical hubs from which they carry out sudden attacks along the Damascus–Deir ez-Zor highway. The group’s operational capacity was further strengthened by the capture of weapons depots in Homs in May.

🔴Prisons in northeastern Syria, which house an estimated 10,000 ISIS fighters and 60,000 of their family members, represent a critically vulnerable point. The al-Hol and Roj camps, controlled by the SDF, have become centers of radicalization. ISIS supporters enforce strict control and recruit children through their “Cubs of the Caliphate” program. The Kurds have reported two ISIS prison break attempts this year alone. If successful, the escapees could flood the conflict with battle-hardened veterans, accelerating the group’s resurgence.

In victory for the oppressed Palestinian people, and in support of their heroic mujahideen, the naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted the ship (ETERNITY C), which was heading to the port of "Umm al-Rashrash" in occupied Palestine.
This was done with an unmanned boat and six winged and ballistic missiles.
The operation resulted in the complete sinking of the ship, and the operation is documented with audio and video.

After the operation, a group of special forces from the naval forces moved to rescue a number of the ship's crew, provide them with medical care, and transport them to a safe place.

The targeting of the aforementioned ship came after the company to which it belongs and the ship itself resumed dealing with the port of "Umm al-Rashrash", in clear violation of the decision to ban dealing with the said port, and also after the ship refused calls and warnings from the Yemeni naval forces.

The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that they are continuing to prevent "israeli" navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas, and renew their warning to all companies dealing with the ports of occupied Palestine, that their ships and crews will be subject to targeting in any area reached by the Armed Forces, regardless of the destination of those ships. Out of our concern for the safety of ships and their crews, we reiterate our warning to companies and countries about the consequences of dealing with the zionist entity and sending their ships to the ports of occupied Palestine.

This stance aims to compel the zionist enemy and those who stand behind it to lift the siege on our brothers in Gaza, stop the aggression against them, and end the ongoing war of extermination against them, in full view and hearing of the entire world.

We continue our military support operations for the oppressed Palestinian people and their proud resistance, which defends the entire nation, until the aggression on Gaza is stopped and the siege on it is lifted.

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs. The best Protector and the best Helper.

Long live Yemen, free, proud, and independent.
And victory for Yemen and all the free people of the nation.

(And by this, he did not mean something akin to the recent limited airstrikes, but rather a major war or large-scale military invasion.)

Henry Kissinger, just a few months before his death, made a rather strange statement:
“Events are coming that will reshape the map of the Middle East.”

That statement went unnoticed at the time, perhaps no one remembers it now.

And yet, we’ve recently heard those very same words echoed by Netanyahu.

Let us now complete this picture in light of the latest developments, through the following points:

1. Iran has become a nuclear state. The matter is settled.
I said this as early as 2008, during a session at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
When asked about the Iranian nuclear file, I told them plainly:
“You must learn to live with a nuclear Iran.”

And that’s exactly what happened.

2. Israel is the biggest loser in the region.
We’re not saying it has been defeated, but for the first time in its history, it has called upon the United States for direct assistance, against Hezbollah, against Yemen, and finally, against Iran.

This is unprecedented in the history of Israel’s wars.

Of course, Israel still possesses elite five-star military and intelligence institutions; they remain the pillars of its survival.

But its politicians have become like their Arab counterparts.

As the saying goes:
“He who lives among a people becomes one of them.”

The era of Ben-Gurion, Golda Meir, and Begin is over.

Back then, every war Israel fought brought strategic gains it still benefits from to this day, unlike the confrontations of today.

Now, Israel fights only to keep its political leaders in power, to protect them from prosecution, not for strategic national interest.

Another sign that Israel is no longer the same Israel, and that its enemies have also changed, is its shameful failure in Gaza.

Despite all the brutal massacres, the Palestinians did not flee to neighboring countries, as they did in 1948 and 1967.

Hamas remains in control of Gaza.

Even Hezbollah, despite everything it has endured, stopped Israel's advance in southern Lebanon and did not vanish.

On the contrary, it is rebuilding itself to return stronger, fiercer, and more intelligent than ever before, led by a new generation of young commanders still unknown to the world.
As for Israel’s confrontation with Iran, it is enough to say this:
The scenes of destruction we had grown used to seeing in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon,
we are now seeing them inside Israel itself.

And that is happening for the first time.

3. The war with Iran may have been written in Hebrew, but it will end in Persian.

4. If Iran were ever to return to the American fold, as it once did under the Shah, it would once again become the "Gulf Policeman", in addition to policing Iraq, the Levant, and Yemen.

What many don’t know is that the Americans, and especially the Jews, have a one-sided love affair with Iran.

It is Iran that refuses to return to its former alliance with Israel and the United States.
For the Americans, Iran is one of the region’s most geopolitically important states.

For the Jews, their affection for Iran is rooted in ancient history, dating back to the time of the Babylonian exile.

(Iran is, in fact, the only Middle Eastern country where Jews were never persecuted, and from which they have never emigrated en masse, even to this day.)

5. The biggest winner is Donald Trump, he is now the “Hero of War and Peace.”

6. As for Turkey, its time is approaching,

Syria should firmly oppose all forms of terrorism and extremism and take concrete actions to respond to concerns of the international community about terrorism.
