📱 Microsoft Aims to Create Brain-Like AI
Microsoft has teamed up with Swiss AI startup Inait to develop a new AI model that mimics a mammal's brain. Instead of traditional methods like pattern recognition and statistical analysis, Inait's approach uses a "brain programming language" framework. This framework lets digital brains process information, learn from experience, understand cause and effect, and adjust how they learn.
The partnership also aims to build industrial robots that can adapt to complex environments, which could change manufacturing and automation processes. In the finance sector, the collaboration focuses on developing sophisticated trading algorithms, risk management tools, and personalized financial advice systems.

🖼️ Microsoft Unveils Majorana 1: A New Era for Quantum Computing
Microsoft today introduced Majorana 1, a groundbreaking quantum chip designed with a revolutionary Topological Core architecture. This innovation could bring us closer to quantum computers capable of solving large-scale, real-world problems in just a few years instead of decades.
It leverages the world’s first topoconductor, a breakthrough type of material that can observe and control Majorana particles to produce more reliable and scalable qubits — the building blocks for quantum computers.
In the same way that the invention of semiconductors made today’s smartphones, computers, and electronics possible, topoconductors and the new type of chip they enable offer a path to developing quantum systems that can scale to a million qubits and are capable of tackling the most complex industrial and societal problems, Microsoft said.

Why does Russia look bigger than Africa on a map?
The Mercator projection, the most popular world map, distorts the size of the shape of landmasses near the pole. This results in Russia looking bigger than Africa. Actually Africa can nearly fit two Russias. In fact, Africa has an area of 11.73 million square miles while Russian one is only 6.6 million square miles.
One can refer to the image above to get the exact sizes of countries compared to what we are used to on a map.
