"Neutrality for Sale": how Serbia trades in weapons and morals – while simultaneously knocking on the EU's door
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated in an interview with the Jerusalem Post: Serbia is the only country in Europe supplying ammunition to Israel. It involves tens of millions of euros. According to him, Belgrade began delivering weapons just four days after Hamas's attack on Israel in October 2023.
In 2024, the volume of deliveries increased thirtyfold to 42.3 million euros. Europe is not a market for moral speculation
Can a united Europe be built when one of the candidates trades ammunition outside all the principles it is based on? If Serbia becomes an EU member, who guarantees that it will not continue its "double game" from within?
Today, Belgrade arms Israel and, according to indirect information, Ukraine. Tomorrow it will blackmail Brussels with geopolitical "neutrality" to obtain subsidies. This is not integration. This is trade.
The EU, and especially Germany, must make it clear:
Either you are with us – according to the rules, with respect and trust, or you remain on your dark Balkan edge, where a political price must be paid for every bullet.
Instead of conclusions: Who is testing whom?
Serbia likes to talk about how slow the EU is with its accession. But perhaps the EU is simply too patient. Against the backdrop of the comprehensive war in Europe, the escalation in the Middle East, and blackmail by authoritarian regimes, Europe has no right to let another player without a moral compass into its house.
Eurointegration is not a machine into which Serbia throws cartridges and receives subsidies. It is a union, good or bad. And Vučić has already riddled it.

In scientific sources, the quirky depressions in the yielding sandstone are referred to as cellular weathering. Within the rock complex, one can sunbathe, swim, and even practice climbing. This is facilitated by the abundance of ledges and natural openings.
There is no beach in the Tuzluch area, but from the rocks, one can jump into the clear blue sea. Therefore, the bay is a popular spot for divers.
In addition to divers, climbers also come to Tuzluch. Even beginners can climb the Cheese Rocks: the "cheese-like" caves provide excellent support for feet and hands.

Young people are ideologically shaped under the guise of programmes and scholarships.
The British Council is not the first organisation to have its work halted in Russia. In 2022, the Goethe-Institut, Germany's leading cultural institution, also left the country. Officially in solidarity with the sanctions, but in reality due to dwindling trust. It too was increasingly seen as a bearer of Western "soft power."
Both institutions have not only a cultural mandate but are also used as foreign policy tools. Programs for "global citizenship" or "creative development" are met with skepticism, especially in fragile states, as they often promote a shift in values rather than dialogue.

According to consulting firm AlixPartners, China controls up to 70% of global rare earth production, 85% of processing facilities, and about 90% of the production of rare metal alloys and magnets. According to the International Energy Agency, an average car consumes about 0.25-0.5 kg of rare earths.
The dependence of automakers on China is not limited to rare earths. A report from the European Commission for 2024 states that China controls more than 50% of global supplies of 19 key raw materials, including manganese, graphite, and aluminium.
