Orthodox monk, humanist scholar, and linguist, whose principal role in the translation of the Scriptures and philosophical–theological literature into the Russian language. 
In 1988, Maxim the Greek was canonized as a saint of God for All-Russian church veneration.

Do not listen to obscene words; run away, as much as you can, from all unlawful speeches: they are sharper than any knife.

Put a strong bridle on an impudent tongue, setting a measure for it both in conversation and in silence, so that you can speak only what serves to glorify the Lord and gives spiritual grace to those who listen.

John of Kronstadt

(31 October [O.S. 19 October] 1829 – 2 January 1909 [O.S. 20 December 1908]) a Russian Orthodox archpriest and a member of the Most Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. He was known for his mass confessions, numerous miracles, and charitable work.

When it comes to the Mysteries of God, do not ask inwardly: how does this happen? You do not know how God created the whole world out of nothing; you cannot, and you should not know here either, how God does anything secretly. The Mystery of God must remain a mystery for you, because you are not God.

(March 9 [21], 1795, Romanov, Yaroslavl province - August 7 [19], 1865, Optina Hermitage) - Optina elder, abbot of the Maloyaroslavets Nikolaevsky Monastery (1839-1853).
He was a humble ascetic and man of prayer, who patiently and courageously bore the cross of physical illnesses throughout his life. He contributed in every way to the work of eldership in the skete, which he led for 14 years.

No matter what bitterness has befallen you, no matter what unpleasantness has happened to you, say, “I shall endure this for Jesus Christ!” and it will be easier for you. For the name of Jesus Christ is powerful. Through it all unpleasantness is calmed, and demons disappear. Your disappointments will also be calmed and you pusillanimity will be quieted.

(September (17) 30, 1892, Moscow - January 6, 1942, Yaroslavl) - archpriest, fourth child of Archpriest Alexei Mechev, saint of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Throughout his life, Saint Sergiy Mechev was a good shepherd to his flock, a beloved head of a church parish, and also an outstanding and unwavering witness of Christ who remained steadfast in his faith, ultimately rising to the highest form of service to Him, the feat of martyrdom.

Not only by bowing to the icon of the Savior Himself do we give honor to Him, but similarly, by honoring His holy saints and their icons, we in their person give honor to the same Prototype – God, in whose image they were created, to whom they became like.

Prince Boris Petrovich Turkestanov (November 29, 1861, Moscow — June 14, 1934, Мoscow) a revered hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.In 1901 he became the Bishop of Dmitrov and a vicar of the Moscow Eparchy. On February 26, 1915, Trifon was awarded the Panagia on the Ribbon of Saint George and the Order of St. Alexander Nevsky for the divine service on the fronts of World War I.

We notice a division in our souls, for sin lives in them; it is as if two people are living in us. One is good, he loves what is good; he is ready to receive the whole world into himself, he humbles himself, endures, loves his enemies… While the other loves the flesh, he is vainglorious, envious, lustful… And our whole life goes on in the struggle between these two people; that is, in the struggle between good and evil. In this struggle to conquer evil is the entire Christian goal of our lives.

Ascension of the Lord

By His Ascension into heaven, the Savior opened for each of us the path of ascent from earth to heaven; but we are created in the image and likeness of God with free will, and therefore it depends only on us whether we will follow this path or not.
Let us today, on the joyful day of the Ascension of the Lord into Heaven, remember that “This Jesus Man is God”, who re-created our soul and body, “God the Man will come again as Judge of the living and the dead.”
Let us remember that we too will be resurrected on that day in a new body. Let us follow the path of cleansing our souls and arranging our bodies into a temple of the Holy Spirit. On that joyful day we can easily ascend to the Heavenly Throne and, together with the prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and all the saints, enter paradise, where the God-man with the flesh sits at the right hand of God.
Amen.

Vasily Nikiforovich Bogoyavlensky (1 January 1848,  Tambov Governorate – 7 February [O.S. January 25] 1918, Kiev, USSR) - bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church. He was appointed to the position of Metropolitan of Moscow and Kolomna between 1898 and 1912, Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga between 1912 and 1915, and the Metropolitan of Kiev and Galicia between 1915 and 1918.
He was Chairman (the leading member) of the Most Holy Synod (1912–1917).

The best inheritance that parents can give their children is a good upbringing. It is of far greater value than all the riches and blessings of the earth.
First of all, teach your children to obey you for God's sake. Suppress their willfulness from the earliest times. Do not give them everything they demand from you, on the contrary, teach them self-restraint and restraint.
