Do not listen to obscene words; run away, as much as you can, from all unlawful speeches: they are sharper than any knife.
Put a strong bridle on an impudent tongue, setting a measure for it both in conversation and in silence, so that you can speak only what serves to glorify the Lord and gives spiritual grace to those who listen.

When it comes to the Mysteries of God, do not ask inwardly: how does this happen? You do not know how God created the whole world out of nothing; you cannot, and you should not know here either, how God does anything secretly. The Mystery of God must remain a mystery for you, because you are not God.🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 Читать полностью…

No matter what bitterness has befallen you, no matter what unpleasantness has happened to you, say, “I shall endure this for Jesus Christ!” and it will be easier for you. For the name of Jesus Christ is powerful. Through it all unpleasantness is calmed, and demons disappear. Your disappointments will also be calmed and you pusillanimity will be quieted.🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋 Читать полностью…

"Humble self-knowledge is much more important, difficult and glorious than high knowledge of sciences. The conquest and mortification of one's lusts and passions, no matter how insignificant they may be, deserve greater praise than the capture of many fortresses, the defeat of hordes…
Thus, spiritual work destroys ignorance of the mind, which is so dangerous for man."

Share your warmth and light with those around you; try to begin with your family and work on that. Soon this work will entice you so much that your family circle will become too narrow for you. Then the halo of your warm rays will gradually grow, illuminating more and more people; so try to keep your lamp burning bright.

Metropolitan Tryphon

We notice a division in our souls, for sin lives in them; it is as if two people are living in us. One is good, he loves what is good; he is ready to receive the whole world into himself, he humbles himself, endures, loves his enemies… While the other loves the flesh, he is vainglorious, envious, lustful… And our whole life goes on in the struggle between these two people; that is, in the struggle between good and evil. In this struggle to conquer evil is the entire Christian goal of our lives.

Hieroconfessor Roman Medved
Roman Yaroslav Ivanovich Medved (October 1 [13], 1874, Zamostie, Lublin province — September 8, 1937, Maloyaroslavets) a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church.
From around the ages of twenty to twenty-four, I consciously began to respect every person, and my whole life I was afraid to make someone my servant, and outwardly and inwardly I am afraid to inflict on anyone pain or force them. It’s my job to convince and reassure; I cannot compel. I dare say I loved my freedom, and never made anyone a slave, and I think that is why I value the freedom of others. Let them live according to their own mind and conscience, and I try not to judge anyone.

Ascension of the Lord
By His Ascension into heaven, the Savior opened for each of us the path of ascent from earth to heaven; but we are created in the image and likeness of God with free will, and therefore it depends only on us whether we will follow this path or not.
Let us today, on the joyful day of the Ascension of the Lord into Heaven, remember that “This Jesus Man is God”, who re-created our soul and body, “God the Man will come again as Judge of the living and the dead.”
Let us remember that we too will be resurrected on that day in a new body. Let us follow the path of cleansing our souls and arranging our bodies into a temple of the Holy Spirit. On that joyful day we can easily ascend to the Heavenly Throne and, together with the prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and all the saints, enter paradise, where the God-man with the flesh sits at the right hand of God.
Amen.

The best inheritance that parents can give their children is a good upbringing. It is of far greater value than all the riches and blessings of the earth.🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 Читать полностью…
First of all, teach your children to obey you for God's sake. Suppress their willfulness from the earliest times. Do not give them everything they demand from you, on the contrary, teach them self-restraint and restraint. Demand from them the quickest and most precise obedience, teach them to fulfill your will at your first word.
Nikon Optinsky hieromonk

It is difficult to say what is better – to partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ rarely or often. Zacchaeus joyfully received the dear Guest, the Lord, into his home – and he did well. But the centurion, out of humility, recognizing his unworthiness, did not dare to receive – and he also did well. And they appeared before the Lord equally worthy. The point is to worthily prepare oneself for the great Mystery.
