Day of the Glorious and All-Praised Primitive Apostles Peter and Paul
We have reached the feast of the glorious and all-praised and first-ranked Apostles Peter and Paul. They are duly honored by the entire universe. It is worthy of praise, for they rejected themselves and laid down their lives for the sake of Christ Jesus, our Lord, and for the salvation of human souls. They renounced all the beauties and pleasures of the world, and by their teachings they enlightened the entire world, which was darkened by idolatry and various passions. They brought many souls to Christ, thus saving them from eternal destruction and leading them into the Kingdom of Heaven.Saint Righteous John of Kronstadt
Oh, let us, brethren, be firm in our faith and love for Christ until our last breath, and at our last breath let us surrender our spirit into the hands of Him who is the Life of our eternity. Amen.

We should try to have a good opinion of people. Only God knows the heart, but we can't judge them accurately.
You understand that if you reconcile your own heart to the one who is angry with you, the Lord will also reconcile his heart to you.

Seraphim of Sarov
(30 July [O.S. 19 July] 1754 or 1759 – 14 January [O.S. 2 January] 1833)
Born Prókhor Isídorovich Moshnín (Mashnín) is one of the most renowned Russian saints.
He taught that the purpose of the Christian life was to receive the Holy Spirit.
Reading of the word of God should be performed in solitude, in order that the whole mind of the reader might be plunged into the truths of the Holy Scripture, and that from this he might receive warmth, which in solitude produces tears; from these a man is wholly warmed and is filled with spiritual gifts, which rejoice the mind and heart more than any word.

John of Kronstadt
Ivan Ilyich Sergiyev
(31 October [O.S. 19 October] 1829 – 2 January 1909 [O.S. 20 December 1908]) was a Russian Orthodox archpriest and a member of the Most Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. He was known for his mass confessions, numerous miracles, and charitable work.
Praying, adhere to the rule that it is better to say five words from the heart than ten thousand words with the tongue. When you notice that your heart is cold and prays reluctantly, stop, warm your heart with some living image, for example, of your spiritual misery and blindness, or an image of the great, minute-by-minute blessings of God to you and to the human race, especially to Christians, and then pray slowly, with a warm feeling; even if you do not manage to read all the prayers in time, there is no harm, and you will receive incomparably more benefit from warm and unhurried prayer than if you had read all the prayers, but hastily, without sympathy.
Je dirai tout simplement : la chose la plus parfaite et la plus grande que l'homme puisse désirer et réaliser est de se rapprocher de Dieu et de rester en union avec Lui.

Do some needlework, for this also drives away evil thoughts. This was given to a great saint by an angel.
Memorize something from the Scriptures, focusing your mind on it, and this also prevents the demons from entering in your lives.
This is a suggestion from the holy fathers.

Try to understand all your deeds in this way... as if they were directly assigned to you by the Lord Himself...
Through this, while doing, your thoughts will be with the Lord... And this is what is required, that is, to walk in the presence of God.

Semyon Ivanovich Antonov (January 17, 1866, village of Shovskoye, Tambov province — September 11 [24], 1938, Athos, Greece) was a monk, asceticized on Mount Athos.
Silouan of Athos is famous for his example of humility and spiritual experience.
If we were humble, the Lord would give us to see paradise every day. But it is a misfortune that we are not humble, and therefore it is given to us to wage war with ourselves; to him who conquers himself, the Lord gives for humility and labor His Holy help.

St. Anthony of Optina
Alexander Ivanovich Putilov

He was a humble ascetic and man of prayer, who patiently and courageously bore the cross of physical illnesses throughout his life. He contributed in every way to the work of eldership in the skete, which he led for 14 years.
Every person, no matter what his life, is given his own cross by God, which everyone must bear with childlike obedience to the Heavenly Father; since it does not become easier from pusillanimity cowardic and impatience.

If you want to defeat your enemies without fighting,
to conquer without weapons, to tame without effort, and to subjugate.

The chief disease which afflicts our time is the uncontrollable passion for pleasure, which spreads with each passing year and day. Everyone wants to live well and only enjoy themselves...
If you, Christian parents, want your children to be happy, then try to suppress this irrepressible passion for pleasure in them, teach them to be unpretentious and to be content with their situation. You will only make them happy when you develop in them the spirit that filled the Apostle Paul, who said of himself: "I am satisfied with the habits in which I am"...

Hieroschemamonk Macarius of Optina, venerable
Mikhail Nikolaevich Ivanov (November 20 (December3), Dmitrov district, Oryol viceroyalty, 1788 – September 7 (20), 1860, Optina Hermitage) - clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church and a venerable Optina elder.
Everyone needs a fire of temptations for testing and learning in patience.
Look at things from the point of view of how God's Providence cares for our salvation: for some more, and for others less, opportunities for patience and learning are needed, and for others the time has not yet come...
Temptations are a spiritual fair where many gain and many suffer loss.
