DOWNLOAD AND UPLOAD BOOST
How to get?
Download and upload boost features are available only in beta-version of Plus. Read this before installing it: /channel/plusmsgrfaq/45.
Your version is beta if last digit of its build number is 7, 8 or 9. If it is 0 or 1 then you use stable. Tap here to see your build number in brackets after version number (here is the screenshot where build number is marked).
Where to find?
Boost features are available in Plus settings » Downloads partition.
Anything else?
Features are experimental (the same as as whole beta is). Everything may go wrong if you use them (the same as when you use beta at all).
❗️Use them at your own risk.
APP INTERFACE TUNING
Plus Messenger provides the way to customize its user interface. Here are some settings users often ask about.
1. In order to hide arrow buttons near top right corners of message bubbles use P2.3 Show 'direct share' button.
2. In order to hide status circles near users avatars use 1.2.9 Hide user status indicator (in chat list) and 2.2.13 Hide user status indicator (in chats). Please note: you can only remove indicators of all statuses but you can not hide just online indicator.
3. In order to hide quick bar arrow button use P2.12 Show quick bar.
4. In order to change app header use 1.1.5 Header title.
5.In order to hide image size from top left corner of images use P2.26 Hide image size.
6. In order to hide image sender name from the same place use P2.27 Hide pic sender name.
Please note: to turn on mod numbers displaying open any partition of Plus Settings and tap on its title.
I DO NOT GET VERIFICATION CODE
Telegram platform does not send one time password (OTP) by SMS and does not call when user tries to login in third party app (like Plus Messenger).
But if Plus user has active session on another device and/or in another app then Telegram usually sends OTP to that session.
So
1. Install official app.
2. Log into your account there.
3. Then log into your account in Plus Messenger.
Please note!
If code does not come even when you log into your account by official app then this is Telegram issue, not Plus one. Maybe it relates to Telegram changes of 02/18/2023, and maybe it does not. You may contact Telegram support to get details: Settings - Ask a question.
If you have another device with Telegram app camera then you can try QR-login feature in Plus Messenger: App menu - Add account - three-dots button - QR login.
Advice
If you are going to log out of your account in Plus Messenger or to uninstall app then make sure you have another active session of your account. If you have no another active session then create it: install another Telegram app (for example official one) on some of your devices and log into your account there.
WHY ARE MY IMAGES SENT WITH LOW QUALITY?
If you are having issues with images sent from your device appearing blocky, pixelated, and unreadable, then please go to Plus Settings > Messages > Quality of sent photos and make sure quality is set to 85% or more.
If you want to send an image/video with no compression at all (in case you want to send a long image, a 4K video, etc.) them
1. Tap on the 📎 paperclip button
2. Tap on "File"
3. Select the file you want to send
Alternatively you can follow the instructions here
CAN I RESTORE DELETED MESSAGE/GROUP/... ?
Short answer:
Deleted items can not be restored in Telegram.
Long answer:
Deleted means DELETED.
Every item you delete in Telegram is deleted forever. Telegram does not give you any chance to say "I've changed my mind", to look in some kind of Recycle Bin, nothing like that. Everything deleted is deleted forever, without any way to recover it. This is true for messages, groups, channels, contacts, whole account and so on.
This is not Plus Messenger restriction, this is Telegram one. Developers of any Telegram app should follow it.
BETA TESTING
Plus users are advised to remain on stable version. Beta versions should be for testing purposes only.
⚠️ Do not install beta versions if you do not wish to encounter bugs!
Beta versions may be unreliable, crash, or behave unpredictably. The only "solution" offered to beta users is: wait for update or uninstall beta version! So be prepared before even thinking about installing beta versions.
This is especially relevant for users of virtual number accounts, who may be left unable to login after reinstalling stable version.
⬇️ Information for beta testers ⬇️
If you'd like to live on the bleeding edge (and realize that things could potentially break) you can get our beta version here.
Make sure to read bugreporting guide before sending any bugreports.
❓ How do I know if I use beta?
Look at last digit of your build number (in brackets) and read /channel/PlusMessengerUpdates/12.
BLUR IN CHATS
What is this?
Blur in chats is a feature of Telegram app v8.6 and newer.
It makes chats titles transparent when user applies night theme.
How to enable it?
Turn on Plus settings > Messages > Enable blur in chats
Any settings?
Tap on any chat title to tune transparency.
Unfortunately there is no way to reset blur settings to default values.
What else?
Official Telegram app displays "Blur in chats" mod in Settings > Chat settings only when device is considered smart (quick) enough. But Plus Messenger provides this feature for any device. Use it on your own risk!
PLUS MESSENGER FILES ACCESS ISSUES
Plus Messenger since version v8.2.3.0 has files access issue: see details plusmessenger/PlusMessengerFilesAccessIssue">in this article.
You can fix files access issue by following these steps:
1. Download Appcenter version
2. Give full access to files for Plus Messenger: tg://settings/externalstorage
3. Set separate (from cache folder) folder for media storage: Use External Main Folder
Please note!
If you use
1. Android 11 or newer and
2. Google Play Market version of Plus or AppCenter version with Use External Main Folder set to OFF
then your Android native file explorer probably won't let you see Android\data\org.telegram.plus
folder due to Android security restrictions. Try another file explorer to observe this folder. Usually EZ Explorer works.
Telegram 8.3 provides CONTENT PROTECTION feature.
Some details are available in official Telegram blog here.
What is it?
Now group/channel owner can protect content of his group/channel by restricting some actions for all group members or channel subscribers.
What can be restricted?
1. Group (or channel) owner is the only one who can protect content. Admins can not.
2. Group owner can restrict the following actions:
• forwarding messages;
• saving messages to "Favorite";
• saving media to device.
3. Group owner can restrict only all of these actions, not some of them.
4. Group owner can restrict there actions only for all group members / channel subscribers together (including all admins regardless their permissions), not for some of them.
5. Group owner can restrict these actions only for all group messages, not for some of them. If the message was sent before group was protected then that messages can not be forwarded/saved too.
How to protect my content?
1. Open group.
2. Tap on group title - pencil icon - "Group type"
3. Turn on "Restrict saving content" switcher at the bottom of the screen.
Does Plus Messenger have any specialties?
Plus Messenger 8.3.1 allows saving content from protected groups/channels to "Favorite". But not forwarding or saving media to device.
Why can not I open a group or a channel?
If you get the message "Group administrator has restricted content from the group. Update your app to open the chat" then
1. Group or channel is protected by its owner.
2. You use outdated app version.
You need to install 8.3 (or newer) version of your app: read details below.
How to get Plus Messenger 8.3?
Read here: /channel/plusmsgrfaq/23
Any ways to copy/forward content of protected groups/channels?
No. It breaks Telegram Terms of Service.
BUGREPORTS

2. Tap on a first item in menu which appears (see. screenshot).
⚠️ Please note the following:

Read more details about voice chats in official Telegram blog.
APP DOES NOT CLEAN CACHE TO ZERO SIZE
Official Telegram app has bug in 7.2 version: when you clean cache app says cache is cleaned, but user data can still take much space on device (sometimes few gigabytes).
Plus Messenger is based on official Telegram app source code, so Plus v7.2.x.x has this bug too. There is no way to clean user data to zero (or close to zero) in Plus Messenger v7.2.x.x.
Please wait for new official app version (stable, not beta!). We hope this bug is fixed there.
ARCHIVE
Archive is a separated place where you can move chats which you do not want to see in main chat list.
How to open Archive?
Way №1
1. Switch to "All" cloud folder.
2. Swipe it to the top.
3. Swipe it down one more time: Archive will appear on the top of the screen.
Please note! Turn on P1.26 Show 'Archive chats' in any tab to be able to open Archive from any tab.
Way №2
1. Open app menu and tap on "Archive" item.
If there is no "Archive" item in app menu, add it there by tuning P3.3 Show menu options.
How to move chat from main list to Archive?
1. Open chat list.
2. Tap and hold chat. Wait until it is marked.
3. If you need to move few chats, tap on each of them.
4. Tap on box button on the top of the screen.
How to move chat from Archive to main list?
1. Enter Archive.
2. Mark all chats you want to move.
3. Press box button on the top of the screen.
Archive chat is displaying in main chat list. Why?
It's because of folder settings. Read point 3 from here: /channel/plusmsgrfaq/20.
Sometimes chat comes back itself. It happens when
1. Notifications in chat (of any type: private, group or channel) are on and new message appears in the chat.
2. Group notifications are off and user X mentions you in this group and notifications in private chat with user X are on.
Any settings?
1. P1.26 Show 'Archived chats' in any tab. Turn on to be able to open Archive from any tab.
2. P1.32 Archive chat by swiping to the left.
3. P1.34 Remove 'Archived chats' from list. If on, then Archive won't appear on the top of the list. Use app menu to enter Archive. If no "Archive" in app menu, add it there by tuning P3.3 Show menu options.
4. Long tap on Archive on the top of the screen to be able to
👉 Mark all archived chats as read.
👉 Pin/unpin Archive on the top of chat list.
APP DOWNLOADING
If you need to update Plus Messenger, use the official sources at:
1️⃣ AppCenter: https://install.appcenter.ms/users/rafalense-70ux/apps/plus-release/distribution_groups/public
(will update automatically)
👍 This is recommended source: see details here.
2️⃣ Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.telegram.plus
3️⃣ APKMirror: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/rafalense/plus-messenger
(open the site, scroll down to "All versions" section, and download the first file there).
4️⃣ Huawei AppGallery: https://appgallery.huawei.com/#/app/C102568417
🚫 Do not install Plus Messenger from APK files if they are downloaded from any other sources! Malware can be embedded in these APK files, which can send your private data to scammers and putting you, your contacts, and your chats at risk.
If you are a channel maintainer please don’t share the APK in it, instead just refer to one of the official sources above. This way the author can keep track of the number of downloads the apk has, and users can be sure of downloading a genuine & unmodified apk of Plus Messenger.
ℹ️ Feel free to subscribe to official Plus Messenger channel @plusmsgr to get news about new versions.
LOGIN BY E-MAIL ADDRESS INSTEAD OF PHONE NUMBER
Sometimes Telegram platform switches user from phone-auth method to email-auth one.
If this has happened then app prompts you to type your e-mail address when you try to log into your account next time. After that you have to type the same e-mail as your login every time you log into your account, and Telegram sends one-time-code not you phone number but to that e-mail.
Please note the following:
1. It is Telegram who switches you. Not Plus Messenger. Plus Messenger just displays to user what Telegram server tells.
2. You can not switch back to phone-auth method, as far as we know. But we may be wrong: we are not Telegram support.
3. Some details are available here: /channel/tginfoen/1481.
MUTUAL CONTACTS
Plus Messenger provides displaying mark which shows is your contact mutual or not. Mutual contact is user who is added to your contacts list and who has added you to his contact list.
This mark is displaying in your Telegram contacts list (App menu - Contacts).
To turn mutual contacts marks (👤) ON do the following:
1. Open your contacts list: App menu » Contacts. If there is no "Contacts" in your app menu then turn them ON in App menu » Plus settings » Navigation drawer » Show menu options.
2. Tap on Contacts list screen header.
See screenshot here.
WHY DO NOT I SEE SOME MESSAGES?
Some issues (including: some messages are not displayed, some chats are not displayed, app regularly crashes and some else) may be caused by broken local messages database of Plus Messenger. To fix it please log out of your account and then log back.
Please note: Telegram platform often does not send SMS and does not call to users who try to log into account by Plus Messenger. Please log into your account in some another app before logging out of it in Plus so one-time-code will come to that app when you log back into your account in Plus Messenger.
SOME WORDS ABOUT SPAM BAN
Spamban restrictions do not relate to Plus Messenger support: it is Telegram platform who gives spamban and restricts accounts. But here is what we can say about that.
If you can not
• send messages to users who have not added you to their Telegram contact lists, and/or
• add users to groups and/or channels by their usernames, and/or
• send messages to public groups and/or join such groups, and/or
• create groups and/or channels, and/or
• add admins to your groups and/or channels
then you probably got limited by Telegram.
Why has it happened?
• Maybe you've sent message to user who had not added you to his Telegram contact list and that user has reported you as spamer.
• Maybe you've added someone to group or channel by username and that user has reported you as spamer.
• Maybe some users have reported some of your messages in some group as spam.
• Maybe something else has happened.
What can I do?
Start conversation with @Spambot and follow his hints.
• If bot says you are not limited then do not trust him: sometimes restrictions are set on your account but Spambot does not yet know about them. Try few hours later or next day.
• If bot says something like "your account is now limited until 18 Sep 2022, 12:18 UTC" then please note that time moment is given for UTC so time in your place can differ.
• If bot says you are limited but does not tell when will restrictions end then you are limited forever.
Anything else what I should know?
https://telegram.org/faq_spam
What is Telegram Premium?
It is paid subscription which gives advanced features to user. Details are available in Premium FAQ.
Please note: Premium subscription is Telegram feature, not Plus one. If you (for example) paid money and did not get premium features you should ask Telegram support about that.
A visual demonstration of the premium features can also be seen in telegram's @Premium channel.
Can I use Premium features in Plus Messenger?
Yes. You can even tune some of them: read official channel posts (this and some newer).
How can I purchase Telegram Premium subscription?
First, make sure to read Terms of Service for Telegram Premium.
There are two ways:
1. Official bot @PremiumBot.
2. Menu - Settings - Telegram Premium - "Subscribe for ..." button in the bottom.
Each of these ways may work and may fail. It is upon Telegram servers. If one does not work then try another. If both do not work then install official app and try to get Premium there: all Premium features will be available in Plus Messenger after that.
Does Plus provide any Premium features for free?
No. Most Premium features are handled by Telegram server, so app cannot provide them itself.
In the meantime, you can enjoy all original Plus Messenger features for free, as usual.
ARCHIVE AND MUTE
Official Telegram app for Android provides "Archive and Mute" feature. So Plus Messenger provides it too.
What is this?
If it is ON then new chats, groups and channels from non-contacts are automatically
1. Muted.
2. Moved to Archive.
Important note!
This feature is available not for all users. It is Telegram platform who decides if your account gets enough chats from non-contacts to be given this feature.
Or you can buy Telegram Premium: it is available for all Premium users.
How to enable this?
If the feature is enabled for your account then you see "New chats from unknown users" partition on your Privacy and Security settings screen.
Turn on "Archive and Mute" switcher to enable the feature.
If you do not see this mod then Telegram platform does not give this feature for your account.
Subscribers of Telegram Premium have access to this feature as part of their subscription perks.
APPCENTER IS THE MOST RECOMMENDED SOURCE FOR DOWNLOADING PLUS MESSENGER
Why is Appcenter version better?
1. Appcenter version provides the way to bypass files access issue. Here is the instruction: /channel/plusmsgrfaq/39.
2. Appcenter version has some more settings which are not available in Google Play Market.
3. Appcenter version has no some (but not all!) copyright restrictions which are in Google Play Market version. In fact Appcenter version is similar to direct version (https://telegram.org/android) of official Telegram app.
4. Appcenter version checks for updates itself. You do not need to check them: app displays notification when new version is released. Of course if you did not turn those notifications off by /channel/plusmods/updateAppMethod.
5. New versions are released more quickly in Appcenter than in Google Play Market: read /channel/plusmsgrfaq/38 for details.
But
Appcenter version can conflict with Google Play Market for updates. Read details in section "plusmessenger/PlusMessengerFilesAccessIssue#sSi8">Google Play Market conflict".
Links
You can get Plus Messenger from Appcenter by following link:
https://install.appcenter.ms/users/rafalense-70ux/apps/plus-release/distribution_groups/public
Google Play Market version can be outdated
Google Play Market staff needs some time to approve every app version which was released by Plus Messenger developer. Sometimes it takes quite long time: days or even weeks.
So if Google Play Market does not show "Update" button then it does not guarantee your version is last one.
You can get lastest version in Appcenter:
• Stable version: here
• Beta version: here
Please note: Appcenter version can check for updates itself so you do not need to check for its updates in future: it will display popup notification about new updates (check /channel/plusmods/updateAppMethod mod).
Telegram 8.3 provides Anonymous posting in groups feature.
Some details are available in official Telegram blog here.
What is this?
Any group member which has purchased Premium can send messages signed not by his own Telegram name but by any of his channels (so they are called anonymous). If all conditions are met:
What are conditions?
You can send in group A messages signed by channel B name if all conditions are met together:
1. You use Telegram app or Plus Messenger app 8.3.0 or newer.
2. Group A is public or group A is linked to any channel as discussion group.
3. You are the owner of channel B.
4. B is public channel.
5. "Hide sender selector" mod is off.
6. Your channels are not banned in particular group (see details further).
7. You are Premium Telegram user.
How to send anonymous message?
1. Open group A.
2. Tap on your avatar on the left of input field.
3. Choose one of your channels.
4. Type the message and send id.
Can I restrict sending messages signed by channels in my group?
Telegram platform does not provide any way to restrict this for all group members at once. But you can restrict this to particular member if he has already send at least one message from one of his channels.
Do the following:
1. Tap near that message.
2. Tap on "Delete".
3. Tap on "Ban user".
Now that member is not able to send messages signed by his channels in this group. He will see icon for choosing one of his channels until he restarts app. After app restarting icon will not be displayed.
Please note: you won't know which member was that.
How to remove my avatar from input field?
App menu - Plus Settings - Messages - Hide sender selector.
DATABASE OPTIMIZATION
Telegram app v8.0.1.0 has database optimization feature.
What should Plus Messenger users know about database optimization?
1. Telegram developers had to implement it to make Telegram platform able to accept new users and to provide new groups/channels creating. Read details here: /channel/durov/167
2. Database optimization is not Plus Messenger feature, it is Telegram basic feature.
3. Database optimization starts automatically at first run of Plus Messenger app v8.0.1.0 or newer.
4. You can not use app until database optimization is finished.
5. There is no way to show you estimated time of database optimization.
6. It depends on your local database size and device speed.
7. If you minimize Plus Messenger app during database optimization and start official app then optimization may stuck or may be finished improperly. This happens if Plus Messenger cache is stored in the same folder as Telegram app.
What to do if database optimization continues more than 30 minutes?
1. Relogin to your account
• Log out of your account (App menu - Settings - three dots button in top right corner - Log out).
• Log in back.
2. If it did not work then reinstall Plus Messenger app:
• Delete Plus Messenger from your device.
• Download last version of Plus Messenger and install it.
• Log into all your accounts again.
MY APP WORKS IMPROPERLY. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
If your app works improperly, do the following (and check after each step if app behavior was fixed):
0. Restart your device.
Really: it solves most of unexplainable bugs.
1. Check if you use last version of app.
• See last message on @plusmsgr channel to know which version is the last.
• Tap here to see which is the version and build number of your app.
• If your version is not the last one then update your app.
2. Check if you use stable version or beta one.
• Tap here to see your build number (4 or 5 digits inside of brackets, e.g. 17430).
• If last digit of build number is 0️⃣ or 1️⃣ (for example 17430 or 17431) then it is stable.
• Otherwise (for example 17459) it is beta. If you use beta please do not complain: you have agreed to deal with buggy version when installed beta.
3. Clean chats cache.
• Tap on "Reset chats". Do not be afraid to lose any data: all messages are stored on Telegram servers even after this action, it clears just chats cache.
4. Clean app cache and local database.
• See details plusmessenger/PlusMessengerCache">here.
• Please note that Plus Messenger deletes all downloaded media from your device while cleaning the cache. If you need to keep some of them then feel free do save them to Download folder of your device before cache cleaning: tap near image to save image and use three dots button near video to save video.
5. Relogin to your account
• Log out of your account (Settings > three dots button in top right corner > Log out).
• Log in back.
6. If nothing helped then you can try to reinstall app.
• Delete Plus Messenger from your device.
• Download and install it back (links are here).
⚠️ Attention! You will have to login into all your account after app reinstalling! Make sure you have all SIM cards with all accounts numbers (or have another sessions of your accounts on any other devices) and remember all 2 step verification passwords.
7. Files downloading issues
If Plus Messenger downloads files too slow (slower than before) then check this:
• Too old and slow device.
• Cache oversize: /channel/plusmsgrfaq/24
• Slow connection to Telegram servers: /channel/plusmsgrfaq/19
PRIVACY SETTINGS
Privacy settings of your Telegram account are available here: App menu » Settings » Privacy and Security.
Here is what you can tune:
1. Blocked users. Here is a list of users and bots you have blocked. Blocked users are still able to send messages to you, but you do not receive those messages (and they do not see double tick). They also do not see your profile picture/video and last seen time.
2. Phone Number. Who can see phone number of your account.
3. Last Seen & Online. Who can see last time you were online and your current online status. See details in official Telegram FAQ.
4. Profile Photos. Who can see your profile photo (or video).
5. Forwarded Messages. Who can open your profile by tapping on header of your forwarded message.
6. Calls. Who can call you via Telegram (both voice and video calls).
7. Groups. Who can add you to groups and channels.
Please also note
1. When you set who can or can't see or do something with your account data you can add not only particular account there, but also groups.
2. You can't avoid receiving private messages from strangers. But if you receive messages from strangers often enough then Telegram servers enable "Archive and Mute" feature for your account. Once the feature is enabled you can see it on your Privacy and Security screen (just under Active Sessions).
As of Plus 7.0, video calls have been added to the app.
To use video calls, navigate to the other person’s profile. Then click the video call icon, to the left of the call icon.
Notes:
• Both you and the person you’re trying to video call need to be on 7.0 or above.
• If you do not see the video call icon, make sure the other person accepts calls from you and has updated their app.
• Any issues with video quality, lag, etc. will have nothing to do with Plus. You will need to contact Telegram Support if you want to report any problems with video calls.
Update the app:

ACCOUNT PROTECTION
Telegram provides the way to see all devices/apps where your account is logged in. Such logins are called "Active sessions". "Current session" is an active session from which you look at active sessions list.
You can open active sessions list in 3 different ways:
1. Settings / Devices.
2. Settings / Privacy and Security / Active sessions.
3. tg://settings/devices.
On the top of the screen there is current session, on the bottom - all active sessions. If you want to stop using your account on any device/app, tap on it to terminate corresponding session.
Please note: if your current session started less than 24 hours ago, you can't terminate any sessions from current one. Wait for 24 hours since current session started.
You can also protect your account by setting two-step verification password. More details are on official Telegram website: https://telegram.org/blog/sessions-and-2-step-verification.
