In which video does Contra talk about a specific fetish?
I narrated this gem to my husband, and we laughed a lot. He doesn't know much about sissy porn and fetishization of gay sex by straight men that much; and was curious about what that is about. It appears on some porn sites that I consume, but not something that I gravitate towards. I remember contra (i specifically remember it being her, but it could be another youtube essayist) was talking in a video about how in online porn, the sissification is practiced as a straight degradation fetish and why often it is racist. I can't find which video it is from glancing over the youtube channel so I figured I'd ask the collected consciousness of the contraverse.

Let me preface this by saying none of us are owed the content of any creator in a parasocial relationship. Stop me if you have heard this one; I was a young right leaning man when I stumbled on Natalie's content for the first time. Her uniquely engaging brand of comedic irreverence, insightful social commentary and most importantly of all her contagious empathy played a critical roll in breaking me out of my political shell. The last part was the most important. Here was a trans woman ( something that might as well have been an alien species to my worldview at the time) who not only demonstrated that she understood people like me but was also capable of articulating her lived experience in a way that made sense. Not only that, she was capable of articulating the lived experience of other groups of people I had been taught to demonize. I remember hearing her tell the life story of Freddie Gray in a way that made it feel personal where I previously had no frame of reference through which to judge the injustices of his life. This talent cuts both ways i was blown away by her video on incels in the way she was able to humanize what is to this day a dangerously hateful community. Natalie is uniquely talented among leftist content creators because she gets people. It saddens me that she has taken on less projects and that their scope has in recent years become less accessible and more esoteric. Her content is still artisticly spectacular and her commentary is as intelligent as always. But it's no longer what drew me to binge watch her channel when I still considered myself a republican. I've put off writing this post for a while now mostly because of the sentiment I began this post with. If the kind of dialogue that drew me to Contrapoints in the first place is no longer something Natalie wants to make then quite simply she doesn't owe it to anyone and I wish her the best in whatever endeavors she chooses to apply her talents to. But her talents are rare. This past November I and many others were rudely awakened to the fact that gen z men are not as progressive as we thought they were. There is a profound absence of people with the courage and clarity of thought to speak to these young men. As I survey those leftists still active on YouTube who speak to this demographic (Hasan, destiny, he-who-must-not-be-named-whose-name-also-starts-with-a-V) i can't help but think that none of them quite hold a candle to Natalie's talent in reaching young men who did not know they needed to be reached.

Thoughts on "Mary Sues"
Many attribute different factors to chuds using Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley as shields against accusations of sexism...the evidence of "I like well written female characters": they watched these movies while still happy children instead of jaded adults, these movies are such scared cows, criticism would reveal the grift, etc. These factors probably are at play; but, I propose an additional factor I have not seen as much discussion around.
I was just thinking about Critical Drinker's review of Charlie's Angels and his complaint about petite women beating up men. So, I thought to myself, "Sarah Conner took on Mr. Universe as an advanced android and Ellen Ripley took on an alien"...which is most believable for a woman to win a fight with? Murder robot, alien with acid blood, or normal if buff human male?
Then it hit me. They don't mind seeing women beat up Austrian murder robots or aliens because they do not identify as those things. They see themselves as the buff guy the women are defeating, and they don't like that. A puny woman can't beat me up; she should be sucking his dick.

Guy's for some reason my Instagram feed is filled with Nazi Propaganda, Anti Semitism, Islamophobia, casual racism and LGBTQ phobia for some reason
And whenever I block such accounts, more reels like these show up in greater quantities, I only interact with accounts that are the opposite of these along with Taylor Swift content and guess what, this happens, like if I block an Alt right conservative account, 4 reels later a very disgusting anti Indian (I'm Indian) post shows up on my feed, I don't wanna sound too much like a conspiracy theorist, but is Instagram pushing alt right propaganda??? Twitter has been an alt right cesspool since 2021 because of Elon, but why is Instagram becoming like this?

I am aware that “just a girl” can be a fascist rhetorical tool, but I sincerely do not think that this tweet I’m about to discuss is an example of it.
Maybe I should be ashamed to admit this, but I’ve been the girl in the tweet before—carefree, letting my partner worry about logistics, and just enjoying the moment. For me, it’s less about where we're going and far more about spending time with someone I love. This tweet captured a small, familiar, and tender life moment. I found it beautiful.
But the general response to this was anything but. The overstatements of harm, the vicious essentializing and trashing (much of it laced with ableism), the moral posturing—all of it cruel abuse veiled as feminism and ideological critique. By the time I finished taking screencaps the op had been driven off the platform entirely. It didn’t take long.
I’m so tired of seeing this time and again in our online spaces. It fucking breaks my heart. I know some may accuse me of tone policing, but when will we, or how can we, outgrow this frankly off-putting and despicable behavior? We aspire to build a freer, kinder, fairer world, but can we hope to achieve that if this is how we treat people? Is there something I’m not getting? Do I even belong here if this tweet hit close to home for me?
It’s so fucking demoralizing. It’s like there’s no love anywhere, except for the love of hating. We have to do better. We can’t let these be the dominant voices in our spaces. This is unbearable.

Had a dream where the new ContraPoints video was about death.
I woke up after a few minutes of the dream video but it featured a shot of Natalie walkng down the stairs (where the top of the stairs was on the right of the screen and the bottom was at the left) and it felt very dramatic. I was very disapointed to wake up and find no new ContraPoints video.

Moving forward can how will liberals and leftists deal with bigotry
I'm wondering how do we deal with things without racism, transphobia and etc while trying to convert conservatives, "centrist" and right moderates with already in gained beliefs that aren't based in reason.
On one hand it's kinda apparent that we can't just call it out, nor they don't care about being viewed as a hypocrite. Like TERFs can make a bomb threat to a children hospital that treats 1 trans kid but some how trans people are too radical
Some of these women say that they don't feel safe around transwomen but openly voted for an administration that cannot be 250 feet near a school

Guesses for Main Channel’s new video topic?
I always find it fun trying to hypothesize what the new main channel video essay will be about based on the research tidbits and unintentional Easter-eggs Natalie drops in between video releases (via Patreon tangents, tweets, etc).
Natalie did mention that her Satanism tangent had some overlap in the research for her new main channel video, even mentioning in her last AMA that she originally would’ve liked to post the tangent after the new main channel video as (from what I roughly remember) she had mentioned that it could be like an epilogue of sorts to the main channel video essay.
So between the topics in the Satanism tangent, her original intention to have the video posted close to the American presidential election date, and any other hints or teases made along the way - anyone have any guesses on what the main topic/topics she’ll be covering in the new video?
My personal guesses would probably either be something relating to cults - possibly in relation to maybe something about stan culture or like celebrity and politician worship/idealization. Or maybe even the idea of mass hysteria being created intentionally or unintentionally through social groups and social media.
Anyways not trying to “spoil” what the new video is gonna be about but thought it’d be fun to guess what the little breadcrumbs left around could add up to!

in which video does Natalie discuss microagressions?
I remember (probably not one of the old videos, I run ctrl+f through a handful and it wasn't there) there was one video where she discusses microagressions. She cites the experience of a black professor, apparently one of the original coiners of the concept, and how he felt that students coming to talk to him in a carefree manner, unlike their dealings with other faculty, implied a form of subtle racism. She also discussed how even the original author of it was concerned about the implied paranoia and false positives associated with it.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? thanks in advance. Alternatively, does anybody know which professor might that anecdote be referring to?
