Games with a rock/synth soundtrack
I'm looking for the PS1 games that have a soundtrack with screaming guitar solos and blazing synths with lots of reverb, something that sounds cheesy but awesome.
Here are some games that sound like what I'm looking for (Some are on PS1, some aren't)
\- Gradius Gaiden (PS1)
\- Lord Of Thunder (Sega CD)
\- Android Assault (Sega CD)
\- Symphony of the Night (PS1)

Need help with my PS One modchip, model PM-42-2.
I need help with my PS1 modchip. I accidentally pulled out pin 3 from the 12C508A chip. Pin 2 was not connected at all. I can't see any soldering point where pin 3 might have been connected. Could someone point out, where i should put it in? I couldnt find any info online.

Jewel Case Condition
Why do we care about this? I see a lot of collectors sort of investigating the condition of a jewel case as if this was a deeply intellectual and important component of a buying decision.
But the whole thing seems ridiculous - 99% of the time these are pretty routine and standard jewel cases. Just put a new one on it if you don't like a crack or scuff. My perspective is that what matters in the buy are the authentic printed matter and discs. The cases are mass-produced far beyond the levels of any single game, AND are there to protect the contents (and this is clearly nuanced to the point of common sense, so comparisons such as "well the cover of a book protects the book and we care about THAT!" are not valid).
Should the condition of a jewel case really impact a buying decision?

I heard something about there being censored copies or something of the first GTA on PS1. Is there anything that I need to be aware of before I buy a copy on physical?
I'm in the UK looking for a PAL copy on Ebay, but I remembered reading someone on this sub about some copies having censorship, which I'd want to avoid. How common is this, and do I need to look for something in particular on the physical copies to tell whether or not it's a censored copy?

Looking for Will's Mods internal bluetooth kit (Medusa)
Hello,
I am trying to purchase internal bluetooth kit for my PS1 but it looks like Will's website is not accepting orders. Does anyone know where I can find the kit? I also plan on getting a new disk drive but I'm not exactly certain which one I need. My PS1 has the RCA in the back.
Thanks!

Psx dev kit non working
Anyone have leads on where to get a psx dev kit, non working is fine. It’s for a mobile not for profit Musuem that displays psx history including development hardware at expos. We already have the yaroze and debuggers, but would like to get ahold of dtl-h2000 or h2500 isa cards for display. Again, doesn’t need to be working since it’s for display only.

Any way to remove the high pitched ringing while using the console?
I thought it was only when using CRT TVs, but even when using AV cables in my modern LG TV there's still a ringing sound in the audio. Like a lot of people going back to old consoles, It gives me a headache and makes the console unplayable for long periods. Is there a way to turn this off? Maybe change the audio in the TV to not pickup a certain pitch? Thanks!

Weird Noises at Boot
Need some insight. I bought this PlayStation (SCPH-5501) off eBay and it was listed as tested and working. It just came in, and I noticed a weird sort of grinding noise coming from the machine when its turned on with no disc inside. It does it twice and then the boot screen comes on. If I turn the system on with a game inside, the grinding noise is replaced with consistent clicking, and then the screen freezes on the PS screen. Are these noises from a faulty optical drive?

Help getting Save File to work on an actual console
Hi, i reacently got a hold of Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis for the PS1. The game has a lot of fun unlockable characters like Pac-man and Heihachi, so i wanted to try and find a save file online that had all these characters unlocked. I've managed to find a complete save, however when i try to move it over to my PS1 memory card, it just doesn't work.
What i am using:
\- A PS2 slim
\- Real physical disc of Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis
\- Original Sony PS1 memory card
What i am doing:
\- Using memcardrex to export the raw save file from the .mcr file.
\- Move it over to a usb memory stick
\- On the PS2 with FreeMCBoot, use LaunchELF to move the save file from my USB stick to the PS1 Memory card.
After doing this i am able to see the save file in the memory card viewer on the PS2, however when i launch the game, i am not able to load in the save file, i only get a message telling me that there are no save files present on the memory card.
If I run the same physical disc on the ePSXe emulator on my PC using that same .mcr file, the game is able to load the save just fine.
I also created and copied over a working save for the game and compared the 2 save files in an hex editor. On the file i downloaded, all the values after hex position 800 was just filled with the value FF, while on the save file i created, the was just regular data after hex position 800.
Last couple of lines of My save
Last couple of lines of Downloaded save
Could this maybe have something to do with it?
Does anyone know why this save file isn't working on real hardware? and what i might need to do to get it to work?
If needed i can also provide both my save file and the save file that isn't working.

Ps1 trouble
I recently bought a PS1 off of some guy for $10 he didn’t promise it worked or anything but I plugged it in and it was working. Went to pop gran turismo in and it didn’t read the whole console froze and my controller wouldn’t work. I put a CD in and it read that just fine so I’m confused why it can’t read game disc’s.
My dad suggested maybe the laser is faulty and it can’t detect the back of ps1 disc because they are black on the back as opposed to CD’s that have silver backs.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and might have solutions.
