Using a soldering iron to remove screw
I had to remove a stripped screw for a friend, his HDD was dead so I gave him an SSD in the hopes that he would be able to take it apart himself, turns out he didn't have a suitable screw driver and tried to use one out of a Christmas cracker, I warned him that it wasn't suitable and he is likely to strip the screws and I offered to pick it up and do it myself with the correct tools.
Anyway, a week later he sends me a text saying he broke the screw 🤦♂️
After trying many different screw removal kits, trying to drill it out, I even tried superglue, nothing worked, so I thought I would just melt the plastic and get the screw out that way, which worked a treat 😂
So now he as a perfectly working laptop, albeit with a big hole in the bottom caused by my soldering iron.

Windows has reported unallocated sectors on disk!
(For context. My iPod Hard disk has died. And well? I decided to take it apart for fun, the iPod is still in good shape and i might get a replacement in the near future hopefully.)

GTX 1060 pushed to 2200MHz with nothing but copper pipes, a Bunnings run, and curve editor.
This time it was my old ASUS GTX 1060 6GB that took the abuse.
I tore off the stock cooler, grabbed a bunch of copper pipes from Bunnings (for the Aussies here you know the aisle) squashed them flat in a vice, and bolted them to the card in place of a heatsink. No rad, no fans just copper and a bucket of ice water. And a beer, obviously.
Didn’t touch the BIOS, didn’t flash anything. Just stock card, stock limits. Opened up MSI Afterburner, flattened the voltage-frequency curve by hand, and walked the clocks up while watching temps and Firestrike numbers.
I ended up with a pretty clean 2202MHz on the core stable enough for a full Firestrike run, and a score good enough to crack into the global Top 5 for GTX 1060s and a 12600kf. It even benched cyberpunk!
Baseline run at stock was cute, but the overclock run was something else!
Not bad for a $50 card and some plumbing supplies.
I put the whole thing in a video if anyone is keen [https://youtu.be/QpFz6U8hQ0c](https://youtu.be/QpFz6U8hQ0c)

This is the I/O on a $1200 Dell XPS nowadays...
Went to help a friend set-up their new Ultrawide and Dell desktop; was shocked to see they didn't even have an audio out to plug his speakers into. But that's a pitiful amount of I/O.
I told him he should have let me build him one, showed him a PCPartPicker config for $10 less than what he paid for, but he was all 'but muh warrantee!' as if he isn't going to call me first anyway to deal with it. At least is has PCIe ports for a sound card...

When the battery indicator lies more than your ex
Why do we never get full battery percentages on our phones right away?
You plug it in at 2% and it says “Charging...” forever, then suddenly jumps to 20%. It’s like the battery is playing hard to get. Who else waits, staring at that number like it’s gonna magically jump?
