Solo dev here, can't fill a match for my playtest, any help will be greatly appreciated.
Hello Reddit, I'm playtesting my multiplayer game with friends and family. Unfortunately, I'm not getting the turnout I need to fill a match, so I'm turning to the internet for help. It's a 2D platformer tactical shooter, my vision of what tactical shooters like CS:GO and Valorant would look like as a platformer. If you have time in the next 2 hours, feel free to come join us. Hopefully you enjoy the game, as it has been a long journey to get to this point. Thanks for reading.
It's a small download with pretty intuitive matchmaking to join matches. Feel free to hop on the Discord for any help or feedback. I'll be there, more than happy to help and hear your input.

Leafborn: A character I developed in Unity 6 using C# Jobs/Burst. I've been working on `Leaf Physics` and `Leaf Hero` for years, and I finally turned it into a game and launched the Steam page!

What should I do next.
I just finished the Junior Programming course in Unity. Should I focus on my own projects now, or should I take a few more courses?

I made a code that I'm really proud of
Just wanted to share with someone...
I'm making a game, I need to spawn enemies. These enemies need to have synchronized attacks(it's a rhythm game), but they should also be able to have other types of attacks. Also, their movement needs to be injected too so I can make them move in a nice pattern.
For the movement I'm using splines, which are basically a bezier curve in Unity. But what if I wanted to use other types of movements? Different strategies? Different behaviours? What if I wanted to make the attack pattern different too?
So I made two interfaces, IMovement and IAttackBehaviour. The movement can be AnimatorMovement, SplineMovement, SineWaveMovement, MoveAroundPlayerMovement.... The same for the attack, it can be SyncedShotAttackBehaviour, SyncedLaserBehaviour, ShootAfterDamageBehaviour... ANYTHING.
AAAND on top of that, I'm initializing them outside, on the polimorphic data that I inject to the enemy, using Odin Inspector to serialize the children classes in the Scriptable Object using the base class to initialize stuff, so no need for switches. Pure polymorphic elegance.
I just wanted to share because I'm really proud of this thing I wrote...

Are people too harsh about indie multiplayer games, or are they being realistic?
I asked earlier about making a multiplayer-focused indie game and a lot of replies basically said I have close to no chance of making money if it’s multiplayer.
I get where that comes from. There are tons of dead online games, no players, bad matchmaking, nobody sticks around, etc. But I’m wondering if people are sometimes too absolute with that advice.
My situation is that I’m building something with a strong gameplay hook rather than just “another online game.” I’m also not going in with zero audience. I have a social media account with around 7k followers that I’d use to market it when the time is right.
The game would also be priced at around $10, so not free-to-play and not some $30 gamble either. My thinking is that if the gameplay is genuinely fun and looks good enough for clips/content, maybe it doesn’t need massive numbers to do okay.
I’m not expecting to become rich or compete with huge studios. I’m talking about realistic indie success, getting players, building a community, and earning something meaningful from it.
Do you genuinely think small indie multiplayer games are almost always doomed now, or do you think a polished niche game with smart marketing can still work in 2026?
What would you personally need to see before giving an indie multiplayer game a chance?
