FGO's Best-Selling Banners: 2025
I almost lost my faith in Game-i ever updating its data on [FGO's earnings in 2025](https://game-i.daa.jp/?%E3%82%AC%E3%83%81%E3%83%A3%E5%88%86%E6%9E%90%2FFate%2FGrand%20Order&yyyy=2025), but we finally got them.
Before I proceed into the summary, everyone should keep in mind the caveats:
* Game-i provides approximations based on known sales for Apple phones, which are extrapolated to Android phones. The approximations aren't perfect, and they miss payments that completely bypass Apple and Android (such as Aniplex's own store).
* The currency used, Gold (G), is basically equivalent to the Japanese Yen. The fictional currency is used to avoid being mistaken for proper market research.
* Game-i can only calculate spending for periods of time, not for specific banners. If two banners run at the same time, their earnings are divided in half between them.

**The general numbers**
Readers of my previous posts, as well as anyone who has checked the caveats above, will know that Game-i's numbers aren't too reliable. But I'd say that the numbers for 2025 are the least reliable of all. In previous years, Game-i would fail to give numbers for the occasional banner, but this time it missed dozens of them. The majority belong to the Crowning Matches and other multi-Servant banners, but even more important banners were also missing.
New Year's GSSR? The new SSR version of Elisabeth? U-Olga Marie? Game-i gives **NO DATA** for them.
Thus, the numbers for the year should be taken with a big pinch of salt. Game-i probably had trouble tracking them all because it was the year with, by far, the largest number of banners, many of which didn't last long and often overlapped. It gives a total 28.18 billion G, the lowest of all years recorded so far, with an average of 0.41 billion G per banner. But as I said, not very reliable.
And the best example of how unreliable these numbers are is arguably the Top 10 for 2025.

A quick look at this list should make it clear for everyone that Game-i's data for 2025's banners can't be taken at face value.
Three anniversary banners get the exact same earnings because they were running at the same time. The same can be said of the two banners for Summer; with all due respect to Tezcatlipoca, more money must have gone to Passionlip and Kriemhild. all time), but probably can be explained by the fact that the GSSR banner which ran at the same time didn't get any data, so Richard's absorbed it all. And as I mentioned before, no data for U-Olga Marie's banner, which by all accounts should have been a contender for the Top 10.
As usual, rather than looking at the individual banners, I think it's far more useful to look at the campaigns as a whole. While not perfect either, taking all the banners into account can give us a better overview of how successful their event was in terms of earnings.

The totals for the campaigns give us numbers that feel familiar, especially in the last few years. Beginning from the fact that most of the earnings are concentrated in the regular big campaigns (Anniversary + Summer + New Year + Gudaguda account for 55% of 2025's total sales).
2025 gave us the second best Anniversary campaign and the second best GUDAGUDA campaign of FGO's post-COVID era. New Year 2025 and Summer 2025 were relatively weak when compared to previous campaigns, though still going strong. OC4 was the second best-selling Ordeal Call, only behind OC3's (which arguably cheated because it was also a Summer event). And now we see Typhon's and Noah's events in the rankings, despite none of their individual banners making it to the Top 10.
Other campaigns that make the cut are related to the build-up to the Final Chapter. And then there's the 32M campaign, because Morgan said "new Servants come and go, but LB6 is eternal." That said, since her banner also overlapped with others, even this can't be taken at face value.

**Final thoughts**
I'm hesitant about drawing any conclusions for 2025. As I've kept mentioning throughout this post, Game-i's numbers have been more unreliable than ever, and making comparisons with previous years, or even within the same year, is fraught with risks. If taken as they are, the numbers show a constant decline year after year, yet FGO still makes a lot of money, especially when the big campaigns come up.
