Concern about raccoon roundworm
Hi I've become aware of this over the years now that I have a child. We were walking on a paved trail at a park and our son accidently stepped in what we thought was dog poop. Now I'm not so sure since there were very tiny hairs or possibly debris from the trail in it. I can't tell the difference. I always thought raccoons don't tend to poop out in the open on a man made walkway but I don't know about these things. We had no way of dealing with it at the time and we didn't really see anything obvious on the shoe but what should we do now that we are home? Is it necessary to decontaminate in some way and how? We walked around the park for a while afterward and nothing apparent was on the shoe. Would that get rid of any issue there could by the time we got back to the car? The information about this in the media makes it sound like you have to wear hazmat and deal with every microscopic trace. It's intimidating.
If raccoon poop can be anywhere that dog poop is then I don't see how this doesn't happen all the time with children so I'm really trying to stay calm.
Thanks.

Mama Raccoon w/Fleas?
In early spring a raccoon I knew from feeding her and her babies last year suddenly showed up while I was working on my car in the driveway at night (long story). It was still cold out but she obviously was hungry enough to come right up to me so I fixed her a plate.
She's been coming every night since then and I figure she is either pregnant or already had her kits. I suspect the latter because she will sometimes leave in the middle of eating and return about 20 minutes later. I think she is checking on them.
She scratches herself a lot. I have baked wheat free banana peanut butter cookies with brewers yeast to try to help her skin condition. I don't give her any bread or wheat products because I know those can cause allergic skin reactions in dogs. I also give her a tiny amount of pet CBD which helps dogs with skin conditions.
Anyway, if this is a flea infestation, I need recommendations on how to help her especially considering she most likely is nursing kits. So I need a treatment that won't harm nursing kits.
