Raccoon problem
I have a fountain in my back yard. I got it 6 years ago. It makes me happy to see it and hear it. We get raccoons in our back yard from time to time. But there’s new raccoon activity. They pull the plug out of my fountain, and run off with the plug. They clawed up our little blow up pool the very first night we got it. Ruined it. They clawed up all the little pool toys, ruined them. They are just out there destroying everything and we have no clue if there’s anything we can do about it. I have a very small back yard. The raccoons live inside the drainage pipes under our street, I have seen them coming out of there a few times now. Is there any way we can prevent the raccoons from wrecking our little yard?

He's still the chillest raccoon around. He's so happy just lounging and eating on my deck.

So this is very weird
CONTEXT: We have an elevated deck that surrounds an above-ground swimspa. We have a shade cloth tarp to keep tree crap out, our dumb cat from drowning, and the coons we feed from partying in it all night. Also kerps out drunk people treapasding. The tarp is carabinered to eye boys in the deck. This set up is on the far side of patio from our house, so we don't go up there alot in winter unless we're having a party.
This past winter, we started smelling something rotten. We have .4 acres, and no open lawn, so took awhile to search. Nada. A day or so later, the wind shifted and I sent my INCREDIBLE husband onto the deck to check.
There was a dead raccoon suspended on the tarp over our pool. Like, it purposefully crawled over there and died. It didn't get stuck, because the coons leave us "offerings" on the tarp, like shiny rocks. WTF would an animal die in the most open part of my yard, rather than someplace secluded like UNDER the deck? We've found a couple of dead animals before, and they've always been somewhat sheltered.
The pool was drained at the time, and believe me, we bought all the bleach at Walmart to sterilize everything. I know how gross this is!
It almost seemed like a sacrifice on an altar in a horror movie!
