Why do most games on this sub have a cartoonish style?
I'm a full stack dev new to game dev. Just curious, are they just easier to make for solo devs? I'd love to make something similar to poe, d4, etc.. someday. But I'm not sure if I'm being realistic. Do you guys actually prefer those styles of games or is it just more feasible to build them?
To clarify, I'm not expecting to build poe by myself lol. But something with similar mechanics and low level systems built into a different experience.

Lights not working with forward renderer
I made a distortion shader to simulate a heat haze effect however it only works if I have forward renderer on. But when I turn forward renderer on all 2d lights stop working. I'm new to these renderer things so does anybody have a way to get lights working with forward renderer? Or a distortion effect with 2dRenderer?

Turbo Snail
Turbo Snail is a small horizontally scrolling endless game. The player plays a small snail that has to try not to collide with the top or bottom of the screen on horizontally scrolling levels.

In doing so, it has to collect strawberries, which give it points for the score. Drops of water accelerate the speed of the pinto for a short period of time. Bombs that are collected can be used against the nasty bats.

How do I use multiple key presses at the same Time In the New input system
Hey guys, first post here!
I'm currently making a fighting game but for the life of me I can't work out how to have directional attacks working i.e. ( if you hold right arrow and attack > play different animation ).
Is there a simple way to do this? It's such a fundamental part of the games core design I'm hoping there's an easy solution.
I did try to make a variable type of the input system but it didn't work. I asked chatgpt too but nothing is working LOL. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

cannot implicitly convert Quaternion to float (quaternion.rotatetowards)
this methods takes two quaternions and a float.
networkRotation is a quaternion.
the last parameter is a float, not a quaternion.
why is it telling me that it cannot convert the quaternion into a float?
Quaternion objectrotation = gameObject.transform.rotation;
