The NewsDemon database became corrupted overnight, as a result there will be some auth issues until we restore the latest backup.
Working on it. Looks like a script got hung and started going crazy with the database. Could cause some people's accounts to not authenticate properly.
I will keep you updated.

is NewsLeecher still the best binary news reader?
After more than 15 years I joined easynews again. My favorite client in the old days was newsleecher and I took advantage of its SuperSearch feature. My news provider at the time was giganews. I just visited newsleecher official site and found out that the latest final build goes back to 2016 and the beta build goes back to 2019, and I cant find the forums anymore. So I am curious is the client dead or still a good option?

PSA: Watch out for auto-renewals with Eweka with no warning emails
So I just got hit with an automatic subscription renewal with Eweka, had zero heads-up that it was coming. No email, no reminder, nothing. I only found out when I was already charged for another full year.
The frustrating part is that if they had just sent a simple "your subscription is renewing soon" email, I could have decided whether I actually wanted to continue. Instead I was locked in without a choice.
I ended up cancelling immediately, but because the renewal had already gone through I'm now stuck paying for a year I didn't intend to sign up for. The only reason I cancelled was to make sure it never happens again.
Honestly, auto-renewing customers without any advance notice should not be acceptable. It feels deliberately designed to catch people off guard rather than giving them a fair chance to opt out. Most reputable companies send at least a 7 to 30 day heads-up before charging you again — it's just basic respect for your customers.
If you have subscriptions with Eweka. go check your renewal dates now. Don't assume you'll get a warning because apparently some companies just don't bother.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Were you able to get a refund?

Usenet Indexer and Provider Duo Question
Good Morning all,
Just after some advice :)
I have setup my first home server and have it running and working fine using public Torrent indexes. Mainly to test the workflow and make sure it all works before moving to Usenet.
While I get started, I want to stick to a single usenet Provider and Indexer.
What does everyone recommend as a good beginner duo?
I've also attached my CasaOS apps, if anyone has any good app recommendations :)

Indexers
New user here. I just bought NZBgeek and NinjaCentral. Both give similar results but most of my nzb’s from Geek fails but Ninja’s success rate is 100%. Can someone explain to me like I’m 5. Was my geek purchase just waste of money?

Usenet indexer for games?
I’ve been on a private tracker for a couple years now but since months the tracker is more offline than online. They know about the issue and are „working“ on it but it didn’t get any better.
I get all of my other stuff through Usenet but I wasn’t able to find a good indexer for games. There’s games4you but you need premium to download NZB and they only accept bitcoin. Do you know of any other indexer for games?

Did i pick a bad usenet provider?
followed an arr-stack tutorial and paid for usenet.pro as my usenet provider. everything worked fine for few days and out of nowhere i start getting "Failed login for server reader.usenet.pro [502 Authentication Failed\]" on my sabnzbd. all my credencials are correct, nothing changed on sabnzbd. Used usenetpro's troubleshooting tool and it tells me "Username [PRO****\] and password [*********\] combination is invalid." and they wont respond to a support ticket.
did i just pick a shitty provider? if so, can yall help me pick a better more reliable one. Also, is there a way to get a refund from usenetpro that yall know of?
Thanks!

Fileleechers Login/Support
Does anyone happen to know if Fileleechers is still online? I tried to log in again, but my login credentials no longer work. I can't reset them either, because the system says my username and/or email address don't exist.
The Proton Mail address listed on the site for reset support is incorrect or doesn't exist.

How far back does your sabnzbd/nzbget history go?
I know I had it for many years before this, but somewhere along the way I must have lost my history with a new computer or install (or something)....
Mine goes back 14 years. 1.9MB/sec, nzb downloaded from nzbmatrix.

Download slowdows with UsenetServer
Ok this is an odd one.
I have used UsenetServer for a looong time and just started seeing this.
If I download an hour long public domain PDF thats between 2-4gigs, I get full speeds on the download (100mb/s - 115mb/s). If I download these PDFs then there is no issue one at a time.
Now it's say i am looking for a full series of PDFs to download that could be between 60gb - 100gb, it will start off at full speeds and then maybe 10-20 mins after it will slow down to 10mb/s or so.
I wanted to test my isp to see if that was the issue so I started a free trial with GigaNews, and I could not duplicate the issue. I would get full download speeds and never slow down no matter how much was in the queue.
Anyone else seen something like this with UsenetServer?
I wanted to send support an email, but their contact me form is broke and cannot see another way to reach out.

NinjaCentral support non-existent?
I donated BTC for one of the NinjaCentral plans last Thursday and followed the instructions on their donation page. I sent an email to their support address and submitted a message through their contact form, but haven’t received any reply so far.
Joining their Discord isn’t an option either since that’s locked behind having an active paid plan, so I’m stuck without any way to get updates or help.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to get in touch or confirm the status of your donation?

NinjaCentral Discord Verification Bot Down
Hello. This is maybe a bit of a long shot post and appologies if this isn't allowed.
On NinjaCentral members are allowed to join their discord server. The website points you to the Discord server as the main way to engage with the NinjaCentral. E.g. if you want support, make a content request, ect.
To get into the server you need to provide a verification code to their Discord bot (prove you are a paying member). The problem is this bot has been down for a few days, so newer members such as myself can't join.
If there is anyone in this sub and part of the NinjaCentral discord. Could you maybe pass on the message that the verification bot has been down for a few days and newer members are currently unable to join as a result.
(They maybe could be aware already, but ways to communicate with them outside of Discord seem to be limited)

Fixed "Connection Refused" (127.0.0.1:6789) in NZBGet caused by Hyper-V / WSL2 port hijacking. Here is how to fix it permanently!
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a quick fix for a frustrating issue I run into a lot. My NZBGet suddenly stopped working and threw a `127.0.0.1` refused to connect error, even though the service was running perfectly fine before.
The Cause:
If you have Hyper-V, WSL2, or Docker Desktop enabled on Windows, the Windows NAT driver (winnat / hns) randomly reserves massive blocks of ports on boot for virtual networking. It doesn't check if you have local apps using them, so it essentially "hijacked" port 6789, preventing NZBGet from binding to it.
How to check if this is your issue:
Open PowerShell as Administrator and run: netsh int ipv4 show excludedportrange protocol=tcp
If 6789 falls inside any of the printed start/end port ranges, Hyper-V stole your port.
The Fix:
You can temporarily fix it by restarting the network service, but to fix it permanently so it never happens again after a reboot, open PowerShell as Administrator and run these 3 commands:
1. Stop the network service to release the hijacked ports: net stop hns (If it asks to stop other services, type Y and hit Enter)
2. Tell Windows to NEVER give port 6789 to Hyper-V again: netsh int ipv4 add excludedportrange protocol=tcp startport=6789 numberofports=1 store=persistent
3. Start the service back up: net start hns
Restart NZBGet and you should be good to go! Hopefully, this saves someone a few hours of head-scratching.

Download issues on NZB Geek
This only started recently for me, maybe within the last few days. Tried multiple NZBs, both old and newer/popular ones. A lot of them fail during download or end up incomplete through my provider, but the same things seem to work fine from other indexers like DrunkenSlug.
That’s why I’m not sure if this is a provider issue, routing issue, or something specific with NZBGeek metadata/NZBs right now. Does anyone else have this problem?

Deceptive marketing with Newshosting?
Signed up for Newshosting Unlimited monthly ($14.95/mo) expecting 100 concurrent connections. Both the pricing page KB article on concurrent connections clearly state Unlimited = 100 connections, no qualifier or asterisk.
I purchased the unlimited monthly plan. My account dashboard shows 30. The upgrade page tells me I'd need to commit to XL PowerPack annual ($15.83/mo × 12) to actually get 100.
Anyone else run into this? Seems like a very scummy bait and switch tactic. Reached out to their support.
Assuming they want a full year commit for unlimited plan but annoyed they dont state this anywhere.

EasyNews Renewed After I Cancelled Service
Hi all, I had signed up for EasyNews last year. I had gone in and removed from credit card information and I thought I had gone through the steps to cancel my service a couple months after sign up as I did not really use it enough. Well I got charged double what I was charged the first time today. I never received any emails telling me it was renewing let alone the price was doubling. Has anybody had this happen to them? I contacted support already. Hopefully I can get a refund and cancellation as it was within 24 hours of the renewal.

Introducing Zenith Uploader – A modern Usenet Up/Downloader for Windows & Linux (Looking for Beta Testers & Feedback!)
Hi everyone,
I’ve spent the last few months developing a new Usenet tool called **Zenith Uploader**, and I’m finally at a stage where I need real-world feedback. I haven't had any external testers yet, so I would highly appreciate your honest thoughts, feature requests, or bug reports!
**What is Zenith Uploader?** It’s a cross-platform Usenet up- and downloader with a modern, clean GUI, built for both power users and beginners who want full control over their binaries.
**Key Features:**
* **Cross-Platform:** Native support for Windows and Linux (64-bit).
* **Linux Performance Optimization:** You can configure the tool to use your RAM for packing and PAR2 generation to drastically speed up processing and save SSD lifespans.
* **Full Automation:** Fully automatable workflows for heavy data handling.
* **Multilingual:** Supports 7 languages out of the box (EN, DE, RU, IT, ES, FR, NL).
* No installation needed
**Licensing & Demo:** The tool is commercial, but there is a **free Demo version** available so you can test everything. The only restriction in the demo is a limitation on the upload \[insert limitation here, e.g., size or frequency\]. No registration required for the trial.
You can find the documentation, screenshot previews, and the download links for the Windows (.zip) and Linux (.tar.gz) binaries on our website: 👉[**https://zenith-uploader.com**](https://zenith-uploader.com)
Please let me know what you think, what features you feel are missing, or if you run into any bugs. Thanks for your time!

What would be a good backup solution for Newshosting?
I started using Newshosting and it's really great so far. What would you recommend as a complementary service, I guess something outside Omicron backbone, right?
I don't even know how often problems occur with services like this, so I wonder if I should get full service from other backbone or just block? Price is really important, of course.
Thanks for your help.

CheapNews Ignoring Customer Support?
