Rubio claimed there must be a "misunderstanding" after Israel bombed Damascus, appearing to target Al-Julani's Gov't. But as Journalist Laith Marouf noted, the strikes were in support of HTS, not against it:

"What we’re seeing is the Israelis understanding HTS can’t govern Syria without control of Suweida, entering themselves into the formula, and attacking HTS and whatever is left of what could be a 'state' of Syria, like the Ministry of Defense and the presidential palace in Damascus, making sure that if the HTS Gov’t falls, and these Wahhabi death squads cannot govern Damascus, that nobody else can have the institutions to govern Syria, if they succeed in leading a revolution."

Iran's President told Tucker Carlson he's willing to resume nuclear talks, brushing over the fact that his country was attacked by the US.

Iran-based Geopolitical Analyst Ehsan Safarnejad noted that many Iranians were “humiliated” by the rhetoric from Pezeshkian during the interview, because he failed to stand up for his country and the legal rights of its civilian nuclear program and right to self defense.

Ret. U.S. Army Col. Douglas Macgregor noted that these same voices were the ones claiming Russia was going to fall apart in 2022.

Israel and Iran traded strikes for a fourth day on Monday, with casualties reported on both sides, as Israel took full credit for the bombing of an Iranian National TV station during a live broadcast. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran does not want to “expand the circle of war,” but will respond “in proportion” to any attack.

Palestinian-Syrian Journalist Laith Marouf noted that as the U.S. reroutes the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier from the South China Sea to the Middle East, in preparation to directly enter the war they have been supporting against Iran… we are also seeing Iran preparing for a long war with not only Israel, but “the entire might of NATO” and “part of the ability to have this long war with the West is making sure that not all of your assets are exposed from Day One.”

The Trump Admin announced sanctions against UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, and dropped the "foreign terrorist" designation on HTS/Al-Qaeda... in the same week.

Palestinian-American Journalist Dr. Ramzy Baroud noted that it wasn't what Albanese said. It was her willingness to criticize Israel's US-backed genocide of the Palestinians that the Trump Admin thinks warrants this punishment.

Putin is making it clear to NATO that Moscow has no plans to back down from its goals in Ukraine, as the Russian president held calls with Trump and Macron this week to discuss everything from the ongoing proxy war, to tensions in the Middle East.

International Relations and Security Analyst Mark Sleboda noted that while the U.S. may be halting some weapons and ammunitions shipments that were set for Ukraine, due to the Pentagon’s concerns about weapons stockpiles, that doesn’t change the fact the U.S. is continuing its support for the proxy war against Russia in other ways, as it also juggles support for Israel and plans for war against China.

Trump claiming he wants to make a deal with Iran, while supporting the attacks carried out by Israel, should come as no surprise…

As Journalist Elijah J. Magnier noted, Trump used similar tactics to assassinate Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in 2020, when he convinced then-Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi to "mediate" the US-Iran conflict as a way to lure Soleimani to Baghdad, in order to kill him in a US drone strike.
