The Iraqi parliament issued an arrest warrant for “Ahmed al-Sharaa”, formerly known as “Abu Muhammad al-Julani”, after his inauguration as president of Syria. The warrant was issued on charges of his involvement in al-Qaeda massacres in Iraq.
An official request was submitted to the Public Prosecution Office to prevent him from attending the Arab League summit in Baghdad next month.
