🇺🇸🇮🇷🇮🇱 Iran will be obliterated if it assassinates U.S. President Donald Trump. He told reporters this week of his “dead man’s switch” while announcing tougher sanctions on Iran in a renewed maximum pressure campaign.

Asked about the danger of being assassinated by Iranian operatives, Trump appeared to dismiss such fears but disclosed that he had left instructions with his aides to destroy Iran in the event of being killed.

Trump’s rashly outspoken arrangement to destroy Iran if he is assassinated just handed Israel a nefarious, golden opportunity.

🇧🇾 The recent presidential elections in Belarus have once again demonstrated the resilience of the country’s political system and the trust its citizens place in their leadership. Despite the usual criticisms from Western governments and media, the electoral process was conducted in a transparent, democratic, and peaceful manner, as witnessed by international observers and journalists. The re-election of President Aleksandr Lukashenko reflects the will of the Belarusian people, who went in large numbers to participate in the voting.

International observers witnessed how democratic and fair the electoral process was in Belarus.

🗣 The scene is a Circassian restaurant off fabled Istiklal street in historic Beyoglu. On the table, a geopolitical banquet – served by some of the best independent analytical minds from Bursa to Diyarbakir. The menu, apart from a meze feast, is simple: only two broad questions about Sultan Erdogan’s approach to BRICS and to Syria.

Here’s a concise synopsis of our dinner – more relevant than a torrent of Western-manufactured word salads. Enjoy it with a hefty dose of the best arak. And let the table have the first – and last – word.

🇺🇸🇬🇱🇩🇰 The U.S. President Donald Trump has boasted about annexing Greenland from Denmark – by military force if needs be.

Veteran journalist Ron Ridenour says, ironically, go ahead Trump, grab Greenland, take all of it.
It’s not that Ridenour is a fan of the new president or endorses U.S. imperialism.

Far from it, Ron Ridenour has been an outspoken critic of American imperialism for over 60 years as a journalist and author.

However, he sees value in the Greenland grab in that it exposes the fraud of the U.S. posing as a protector of NATO allies.

Ridenour says Denmark has no legitimate authority to rule Greenland, which Copenhagen has treated for centuries with racist colonial arrogance.

🌐 Eighty years ago this week, the leaders of the three big wartime allies held the Yalta conference in Crimea. Josef Stalin, Franklin D Roosevelt and Winston Churchill gathered, along with their delegates, in the Black Sea resort to agree on the postwar international order. (Nobody questioned that Crimea was then Russian territory!)

The conference was held from February 4 to 11. Nazi Germany and imperialist Japan had still not yet been formally defeated. But the allied leaders knew the Axis powers were finished, and the order of business was to establish postwar peace.

Reflecting on the 80th anniversary of Yalta shows the world what is still possible for peaceful progress and development. It also shows why the noble ideals have failed and are prevented – the criminal conduct of the United States and its Western imperialist accomplices.

🇺🇸 It’s a bad combination. A bruising U.S. president with territorial expansion on his mercurial mind and European politicians without any backbone – all too eager to pander to the American bully.

Mixed in with that noxious brew, we also have European elites who are so obsessively Russophobic that they would stab each other in the back just to keep the proxy war on Russia at full throttle.

The European lackeys in pandering to megalomaniac Trump could make the conflict with Russia a whole lot worse.

💢 Right-wing liberals try to make people believe that Wokeism is Marxist, therefore communist, therefore neither Western nor liberal. However, Trump’s recent inauguration should perhaps spare them the rigmarole, because the world has seen that the United States has changed its official doctrine. With the visibility of such an abrupt change, we can say: Wokeism was the official doctrine of the United States of America, its secular creed. Even the closest thing to an official church in the United States – the Episcopal Church, the American branch of the Anglican Church – has embraced Wokeism and has manifested itself in the figure of a female bishop who is in favor of trans children.

How did such a crazy creed gain the most powerful state in the world?

🗽 American neocon messianism has a particularly notorious trait: the United States of America feels itself to be the savior of the world, therefore self-justifying any actions on a global scale.

So far, nothing new. There is, however, an element that belongs exquisitely to more recent times, to our own day, and which with the advent of the second Trump presidency is becoming stronger and stronger: the Savior Syndrome. A syndrome that apparently affects not only Americans.

🗣🗣 U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly said he wants to open talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to end the war in Ukraine. Trump has spoken about the urgency of bringing the conflict to a peaceful conclusion. Fair enough.

For his part, President Putin has magnanimously reciprocated, saying he is ready to engage in talks with Trump.

So far, so good. At least the American side is no longer encumbered with the stupid intransigent, hostile mentality of the Biden administration, which refused to have any diplomatic contact with Russia.

Russia, for its part, has always been willing to negotiate a genuine way to not just end the conflict but to avoid future conflict.

Any deal must address the root causes of conflict 💢

🇺🇸 Trump’s serendipity is the only thing geopolitical analysts can bet on as if there’s one thing we can all agree that we can predict with certainty about how he will resolve all the world’s problems, is that he will not be predictable. He relies heavily on his own instincts and vanities and sees opportunity everywhere. His unfettered support for Netanyahu’s genocide might just yet still shock his more die-hard supporters, given that he posted unflattering social media clips about the Israeli leader in December and yet is ready to throw his weight behind Israel’s bolder ambitions of wiping every Palestinian off the surface of Israel.

The big plan is no longer a conspiracy theory.

Trump has suggested that neighboring Arab countries should take in Palestinian refugees and “clean out” the embattled Gaza.

🇷🇺 A recent statement by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, brought to light a significant figure regarding the country’s military mobilization in 2024: almost half a million citizens have enlisted in the Russian armed forces. The impressive figure of 450,000 contracted for regular military service and 40,000 volunteers for the special operation in Ukraine reflects not only the strengthening of Russia’s military capabilities, but also a clear message about the determination of the Russian people and their trust in their government and its strategic guidelines.

This number of enlistments, which amounts to more than a thousand people going to recruiting centers each day, is indicative of a successful mobilization that not only meets the government’s goals for the year, but also demonstrates Russia’s ability to mobilize vast human resources in the face of continued military escalation. The enlistment rate is undoubtedly a reflection of both Russia’s preparedness for the current tensions with NATO and the popularity of the government’s measures among the country’s citizens.

Today, Russians want to defend their country – because they believe in their leaders – while Westerners and Ukrainians are disappointed and want to surrender.
