Central Asian massive blackout!

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan informs: massive power outages in Central Asia are due to an accident in Kazakhstan. Samruk-Energo holding
experienced an emergency shutdown of high-voltage power lines connecting Alma-Ata with the northern and southern parts of the energy system.

According to the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, a power outage occurred throughout the energy ring in Central Asia.

❗️Who can enter Tashkent?

Since Tashkent is marked as a "red" zone again, Samarqand and Tashkent regions as "yellow" from June 28 till July 12 passengers travelling between cities and regions by car or bus won't be allowed to enter Tashkent city. However, there are exceptions. Here is the list of passengers who are still eligible to enter capital city:

📌 Those who have permanent registration in Tashkent city - both local and foreign citizens;

📌 Those coming for medical treatment;

📌 Those working permanently in Tashkent (certificate from place of work is required);

📌 Those leaving Tashkent via Tashkent airport to foreign countries (air tickets are required);

📌 Foreign citizens entering Uzbekistan as tourists and drivers of the buses, tour agency representatives;

📌 trucks delivering constructions materials, vegetable and fruit, mail of "O'zbekiston pochtasi";

📌 staff of Ministry of Health, Sanitary and Epidemiology services.

⚡️As of May 5, according to the official statistics by the Ministry of Health, the total number of detected cases of coronavirus in Uzbekistan is 93 176 (+452). 229 of them are in Tashkent, 83 in Samarkand region, 71 in Tashkent region.

🟢 The total number of recovered patients is 88,975 (+440).

◾️ Total deaths 657.

🛌 3544 patients are being treated in medical institutions.

⚡️💉 To date, the number of people vaccinated against coronavirus infection in the country has reached 1,009,510 people.

These people are mostly teachers, doctors, those over 65 years old and the vulnerable due to preexisting conditions. This is the first round of doses. The vaccines are Uzbek-Chinese, AstraZeneca and Sputnik V.

Exactly 55 years ago, on April 26, 1966, a devastating earthquake occurred in Tashkent

Its magnitude in the focus was 5.2 (on the Richter scale), and the seismic effect on the earth's surface at the epicenter exceeded 8 points.

The zone of maximum destruction covered 10 sq. km in the central part of Tashkent (Kashkargi region), which was mainly built up with adobe houses.

The earthquake deprived of housing almost half of the residents of Tashkent: in one minute, more than 2 million square meters came to an emergency state. m of housing. More than 78 thousand families were left homeless, or over 300 thousand people out of 1.5 million living in Tashkent at that time.

On April 24th Hashar Week team is organizing a Book Fair at Hashar Week: Joy - Sergeli.

You are welcome to take part at the first book fair for local community in Sergeli, Tashkent. The fair will take place from 16:00 - 19:00 - you will be able to exchange books or bring 1kg of paper and 0.5kg of PET bottles and take any one for free.

I will be reading my children's books later that day from 16:30-18:00 and donate some books as well.

⚡️The second batch of Sputnik V vaccine (50 000 doses) and the Uzbek-Chinese vaccine (1 mln doses) have been delivered to Tashkent international airport.

⚡️To date, the number of people vaccinated against coronavirus (with AstraZeneca or Uzbek-Chinese vaccines) in the country has reached 565 934 people.

⚡️As of April 26, all pre-schools in Samarkand have been transferred to distance learning for 14 days.

❗️ The following numbers are given in the official statistics.

In Uzbekistan, 275 new patients with coronavirus were recorded yesterday (141 in Tashkent). Covid-19 has been detected in all regions by now.

The total number of deaths reached 646 since March 15, 2021.

The number of patients in hospitals with confirmed covid has reached 2804 people.

⚡️The first batch of Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus has been delivered to Tashkent international airport from the Russian Federation.

⚡️To date, the number of people vaccinated against coronavirus infection (with AstraZeneca or Uzbek-Chinese vaccines) in the country has reached 510,329 people.

⚡️As of April 23, 243 out of 10,008 schools in the country have been transferred to distance learning.

The numbers vary depending on the requirements of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service Centers.

❗️❗️The number of patients with covid continues to rise. The following numbers are given in the official statistics.

In Uzbekistan, 399 new patients with coronavirus were recorded yesterday, most of them - 217 - in Tashkent and Tashkent region - 83.

TEACHING UZBEK TO FOREIGNERS

For the past months I have recorded a number of video lessons on Uzbek language, translated and simplified short stories of Western and Uzbek writers, made some captions for short movies and cartoons in Uzbek and preselected easy-to-learn popular Uzbek songs.

With all of this set, now I can launch short-term course for learning basic Uzbek language. It will be delivered in blended format where you would have to watch pre-recorded lessons on your own pace and attend Zoom lessons for practicing dialogues with a partner, ask questions regarding presented material and meet native speakers. In two months period you can learn survival spoken and written language, as well as understand local cultural specific moments related to Uzbek language. All materials will be shared with you and you will have an access to them for unlimited period of time.

❗️Considering that the number of cases per day for the first time since the beginning of the year exceeded 300 people, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov has introduced a number of restrictions in Uzbekistan starting April 18, 2021.

🔺️The mask control will be reinforced, social distance will be reminded and antiseptic will be sprayed on hands everywhere. This applies to all indoor facilities.

! People without masks, even in the open air, are promised to be fined.

🔺️ Any educational institution will be closed for 2 weeks if at least one sick person is identified.

🔺️It is intended to limit capacity of seats to 50% in public transport.

🔺️Strengthen control over compliance with quarantine requirements at railway stations and airports.

🔺️ The number of people (up to 100 people) will be limited to weddings, iftar.

🔺️Namazes in mosques were recommended to be carried out only in open areas. Those praying should be wearing masks and keeping social distance.

🔺️In catering points, the number of places will be reduced to 50% of the total capacity, but no more than 100 people.

🔺️From May 1, concerts will also be held only in open areas.

🔺Mobile medical teams and a three-month reserve of drugs will be created.
