DEPEND ON THE LORD (Pride Yourself In His Ability)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
John 15:5 AMPC “I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
Here’s a powerful truth: Jesus said in John 15:5, “... without Me you can do nothing.” That means you won’t get very far if you rely solely on your own human abilities, cleverness, wisdom, skills, and competence. So, never let pride creep in because of your seeming human talents. Instead, put your trust in the Lord. Your success hinges entirely on your connection with the Lord. Your competence comes from Him (2 Corinthians 3:5 AMPC).

That’s why Apostle Paul didn’t brag about his own skills or knowledge. He boasted in the Lord, saying, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). He wasn’t saying, “I can do all things because I’m so knowledgeable”; no. It’s about Christ and who He is in you—His ministry in and through you.

It brings to mind the story of Asa in 2 Chronicles 14. The Bible tells us Judah was invaded by an army of a million men and three hundred chariots. King Asa and his army were completely outnumbered. Asa realised that the only way to victory was to completely rely on the Lord. In 2 Chronicles 14:11, Asa cried unto the LORD his God in heartfelt prayers and said, “…Lord, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”

The Lord responded and gave Judah a remarkable victory: “So the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled” (2 Chronicles 14:12). Now, here’s something to notice about Asa: he didn’t sit idly by, thinking, “Whatever will be, will be”; he took action. Your step of faith is important. Having prayed, Asa and his army charged against the enemy forces and got the victory. Hallelujah!

SING A SONG TO THE LORD (Are You A Singer Of His Praise?)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Psalm 105:2 “Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; talk of all His wondrous works!”

▶️ LET’S TALK
All the great men or women of God you find in the Bible were singers of the Lord’s praise. No wonder they lived an extraordinarily victorious life in every way. It’s time for us to learn to praise and sing unto the Lord Most High; we’re to sing songs of the Spirit, for we’re singers of His praise!

For example, after crossing the Red Sea and witnessing how the Egyptian warlords perished in it, Moses broke out in songs of praise: “…I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a warrior; the Lord is his name” (Exodus 15:1-3 NIV).

When the Israelites fought against King Jabin and destroyed him, Deborah and Barak sang to the Lord with these beautiful words: “…Hear, O kings; give ear, O princes; I will sing to the Lord. I will sing praise to the Lord, the God of Israel” (Judges 5:3). How about Miriam’s poetic acknowledgement of Israel’s miraculous deliverance from the charging Egyptians: “…Sing to the LORD, because he has won a glorious victory; he has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea” (Exodus 15:21 GNB).

Over in the New Testament, we read the prophetic utterance about Jesus that says, “…I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises” (Hebrews 2:12). The prophetic utterance about Jesus declares that He would sing praises to the Lord in the midst of the church, among His brethren. And He did. Hallelujah! The night before He was betrayed, after He had served His disciples the Holy Communion, the Bible says, “They sang a hymn and went directly to Mount Olives” (Matthew 26:30 MSG). Then in Luke 10:21, He did something beautiful: He sang a psalm. Psalms are spiritual songs. Glory to God!

NO DEATH FOR YOU! (You Have Dominion Over Death And Hell)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Revelation 1:18 CEV “…I died, but now I am alive forever, and I have the keys to death and the world of the dead.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
While teaching a class, Miss Bernadette emphatically declared that everyone born into this world would inevitably die someday. But Miles thought differently because of what he had learned from God’s Word. So he raised his hand politely and said, “Ma’am, that’s not how it goes for me. Jesus defeated death, and because I’m in Him, I have dominion over death.”

The Bible says, “...Through one man (Adam) sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). Death was associated with sin, so when Adam committed high treason back in the Garden of Eden by obeying Satan, death began to work in every man. Satan gained the liberty to afflict men with sickness, disease, destruction, and ultimately death at his will.

But when Jesus came, things changed. Men and women who were all their lives subject to bondage because of the fear of death were liberated through the victory of Jesus Christ over death and the grave (Hebrews 2:14-15). Jesus went right into hell—Satan’s domain—paralysed Satan and his crew and obtained the keys of death and hell! He dealt with the problem of death when He triumphantly rose from the dead and ushered man into a new life.

Today, anyone who’s born again need not fear death, for death has been defeated by Jesus. No wonder the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:54-57, ”…“Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” He’s given us victory over death and the grave.

Today, Satan can no longer take anybody’s life at will because he doesn’t have the power of death anymore. Christ has given us life to live to the full. In His presence is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures evermore. “The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)” (John 10:10 AMPC).

ALPHA AND OMEGA (He’s The First And The Last, The Beginning And The End)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Revelation 1:8 AMPC “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).”

▶️ LET’S TALK
“The future looks so bleak, Liz; my family lost everything in that fire. What do I do?” Stacie lamented to her friend, Elizabeth.

“Have no fear, Stacie. Jesus knows all about your future, and He’ll replace all you’ve lost; just trust Him.”

As you study Jesus in the Scriptures, you come to an unequivocal conclusion: He is Himself God, the First and the Last, the beginning and the ending. He’s the One described by Daniel as the Ancient of Days. John the Apostle, while exiled on the island of Patmos, received revelations from the Lord. He said, “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last…”” (Revelation 1:10-11). That’s Jesus!

The Lord also said to him, “…Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen…” (Revelation 1:17- 18). The only one who fits this description is Jesus. He’s the One who died but is alive forever more. Hallelujah! Now, if He’s the beginning and the ending, that means you have nothing to fear or worry about in your journey of success. He’s with you and in you.

As you start, He’s right there. On the way, He’s right there. At the end, He’s also there. He’s got you covered! He’s with you at every phase of your journey. No wonder the Bible says in Hebrews 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith….” That means you don’t need to worry about the future; from the very beginning, He already knows the end, and He says, “Fear not.”

Therefore, be bold and confident always, knowing that you’re in Christ, that He’s in you, and that He’s perfected all that concerns you. He’s the author (beginning) and perfecter (ending) of all things. Glory to God!

DON’T BE A “NĒPIOS” (Become Mature And Speak God’s Language)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
1 Corinthians 2:13 “These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
In Galatians 4:1-2 NIV, the Bible says, “What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father.” An heir is someone who has an inheritance bequeathed to him and is a legal inheritor of an estate or position of high authority and wealth.

However, as long as that heir is a child, he’s not different from a servant. The word translated as “child” is “nēpios,” one who’s unable to talk right or communicate wisely. Someone can be forty years in Christianity and still be a “nēpios”; he can’t form the right words in the realm of the spirit.

Yes, the Word says we’re heirs of God and jointheirs with Christ, but “nēpios” can’t live the life of an heir. 1 Corinthians 3:21 says, “…all things are yours,” but they’re suffering through life because they haven’t matured spiritually. They use the wrong terms because they’ve never learned God’s language.

The way to learn and speak God’s language is by studying and meditating on the Word. Our opening verse says we’re to speak words which the Holy Ghost teaches— words of wisdom from and by the Spirit. So, get yourself trained in the Word of God and have the Word in your heart and on your lips always, irrespective of the circumstance.

ASK OF ME! (Travail In Prayer For The Nations)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Psalm 2:8 “Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
The Message translation of our opening verse says, “What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? Continents as a prize?” I first came across this verse when I was fifteen years old, and I prayed to the Lord according to this scripture. In response, the Spirit of the Lord said to me, “I’ve given you the nations!” At that tender age, I was concerned about unbelievers living in spiritual darkness, estranged from the life of God, hopeless, and without God in the world.

So, I got a globe, and many times, I placed my hands on it, speaking and prophesying over the nations of the world and over men’s lives. I travailed in prayer for the needy people of the world. I prayed and cried before the Lord for the nations of the world! Ever since that time, many years ago, I knew that not one nation could shut its doors against me.

Today, the Lord is doing many great things through us in the nations of the world. When He says, “Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance,” He’s talking about the souls of men, impacting them with the Gospel and the righteousness of God. That’s what the apostles did, and it’s what we must do today. And nothing can stop us. When Paul preached the Word in Ephesus, there was a lot of resistance, of course, but it wasn’t enough to stop the work of the Gospel.

The Bible says, “So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed” (Acts 19:20). The key to this kind of result is travailing in prayer. So travail in prayer for your nation, your city, your neighbourhood, your school, etc., and surely, the Word of God will grow mightily therein and prevail. Hallelujah!

PROTECT THE SEED (Keep The Word In Your Heart)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Mark 4:14-15 “The sower sows the word. And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
The Amplified Classic version of the Bible renders Mark 4:14-15 this way: “The sower sows the Word. The ones along the path are those who have the Word sown [in their hearts], but when they hear, Satan comes at once and [by force] takes away the message which is sown in them” (AMPC). The most valuable thing in your life that Satan seeks to go after is the Word of God in your heart.

This is why whenever you receive the Word of God into your heart, the forces of darkness, knowing the power of the Word, come quickly to attempt to steal it from your heart. This is what the Lord Jesus brought to light in the parable of the sower.

It explains why some people hear the Word but don’t understand it. They find it difficult to comprehend why all hell seems to break loose against them right after receiving a wonderful prophecy. It’s because Satan will do everything to steal the Word from their hearts; he’ll throw all his darts and accusations at you in a bid to steal the Word from you. He tried this trick even with the Lord Jesus, questioning the Word that had been spoken concerning Him by asking Him to prove Himself (Luke 4:3). Of course, the Master successfully repelled him because He had the Word deeply rooted in His heart.

You have to deliberately guard the Word in your heart. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,” that means let the Word settle and take root in your heart. That way, no matter how hard the enemy tries to steal it from your heart, he won’t succeed.

That’s why you must protect that seed—the Word of God—in your heart. Don’t let the Word remain on the “surface soil” of your heart, where the enemy can reach it and knock it out of you. Drive it deep into your spirit through meditation and praying in other tongues. Hallelujah!

AN END TO ALL HOSTILITIES (Jesus Brought Us Into Peace And Union With The Father)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
John 14:27 NIV “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
It’s my heart’s desire that people all around the world fully grasp the incredible significance of the Lord Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Before His sacrificial act on our behalf, the Bible tells us that we were “…without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12), which means we were enemies of God. But praise God! Romans 5:10 says He reconciled us to Himself by the death of Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:13-18 says, “...Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.” Hallelujah!

Jesus paid the price and brought us into peace and union with the Father. No wonder Paul says in Romans 5:1, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The word “peace” is from the Greek “eirene.” It describes an end to hostilities. It means to be set at one.

Through Christ Jesus, you’ve been set at one with God; you’ve come home in Him! Isaiah 53:5 NIV says, “...The punishment that brought us peace was on him….” There’s no need to live in fear of judgement; Jesus has already taken the punishment for your sins. Hallelujah!

HE’S THAT SAME GOD! (Same God—Same Testimonies)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Acts 5:15 TPT “In fact, when people knew Peter was going to walk by, they carried the sick out to the streets and laid them down on cots and mats, knowing the incredible power emanating from him would overshadow them and heal them.

▶️ LET’S TALK
“Pastor, my sister suddenly couldn’t walk when she woke up from sleep. Please, can you come over and help us?” wailed Cyril over the phone.

“Okay, I will be over there in a short while,” assured Pastor Mark.

Sure enough, his Pastor came over and laid hands on Cyril’s sister, and the young lady jumped, leaping for joy.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever” (NASB). Some have wondered if what we read of Peter in the opening verse above is still possible in our day. Absolutely! We see the same miracles and testimonies today because it’s the same God. The Bible says handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched Paul’s body were placed on the sick, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them (Acts 19:12).

Similarly, we’ve received countless testimonies of how this very devotional you’re reading—Rhapsody of Realities— was placed on the sick and even the dead, and there were miracles: the sick got healed and the dead were raised back to life! This has happened multiple times in different parts of the world because this material is from God.

A lady, whose husband had died, said to someone, “I heard that when people use Rhapsody of Realities, they raise the dead in your church. Please come with a copy to the hospital; my husband is dead.” The lady whom she had called took a copy of the devotional with her to the hospital and placed it on the dead body, and the man came back to life. Hallelujah!

You can immediately see the similarity between this and the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:4348: “she heard,” and because she heard, she pushed her way through a teeming crowd to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed instantly. The difference is that the book Rhapsody of Realities is an even better repository of the power of God in that it contains God’s Word that you can study again and again, rather than the handkerchiefs or aprons on which nothing is written. Praise God!

DON’T BE LIED TO! (Learn To Identify And Believe The Truth Only)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
John 17:17
“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
One of the easiest ways a Christian can yield to demonic influences is by believing and acting on lies. For example, you received the Holy Spirit by receiving the truth of the Gospel of Christ. You received Christ when you believed God’s Word; He didn’t come into you because you ate or swallowed anything, but through words. You believed and accepted the words of the Gospel, and Christ took up His abode in your heart.

Similarly, demons take up residence in people when they accept and believe lies. When Satan entices people with lies, he brings those lies into their lives and continues influencing them. That’s the reason when someone believes a lie, he starts behaving abnormally, be it at home, in church, among his friends, or at school. And it all depends on the lie he may have believed and the particular spirit that’s peddling that lie. When that spirit gets comfortable in such a person, he brings in other demons, and then that person’s condition worsens.

But as you learn and live by the Word, you’re able to take your stand against satanic influences and manipulations. You’re able to judge everything with the truth of God’s Word. Don’t accept lies. Believe only in the truth. But how can you identify the truth? Truth blesses and uplifts. Truth makes you grow, fills you with love, and makes you walk and talk like Christ! Truth promotes you and those who are with you; it doesn’t bring confusion, and it carries no hate or bitterness with it. Truth is light. Glory to God!

“My uncle is a billionaire business mogul, and I can ask him for anything I want,” Eleanor smiled smugly to herself as she rode to school in his chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce. But her feeling of pride didn’t last for very long, as the next time she tried asking a favour from him, she got reprimanded. Until that point, she didn’t realise she’d been solely focused on and dependent on people who could fail, reject, or refuse her. How important it is for us to take our eyes and attention away from ourselves and those we’re “connected” with, and look to the Lord!

It brings to mind the story of Abraham in Genesis 15. God told him, “Do not be afraid…I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward” (verse 1). And in Genesis 15:5–6, we read, “Then He (God) brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.” Soon afterwards, Isaac was born. God helped Abraham look in the right direction and set his focus correctly. In the end, Abraham looked away from his old age and circumstances towards heaven and got Isaac.

Refuse to be one who looks into your wallet or purse to determine what you’ve got in life. Refuse to be anxious about who’s going to help you! Don’t say, “I’m so broke; there’s no money here.” No! Look away from that to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. That’s one reason you pray and meditate on the Word. That’s how you can really focus your attention on the Lord to see and experience the miraculous!

NEVER GET INTO WRONG FIGHTS! (Your Fight Is The Good Fight Of Faith)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
2 Timothy 6:12
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
“I wish I knew where Kevin lived, so I could go beat him up,” fumed Andrew. “Hey man, where did that come from?!” Steven replied in shock.

“He hurt me, and I’ve got to give him a piece of my mind,” Andrew retorted.

“Come on, man, let it go. That’s not a legitimate fight for you. Leave it alone!”

When you study 1 Timothy 6:12, you’ll discover that the fight of faith is the only legitimate fight for the Christian, and it’s not a fight with people. So, never fight or get into strife with anyone over anything. Fighting with people is wrong. Sometimes, it might seem right just to “fight” for something or a cause, but seek the Lord’s guidance first, like Jehoshaphat requested (2 Chronicles 18:3–4).

If you think you’ve been defrauded or cheated by a fellow brother or sister, as you resolve to take up the matter, remember the scriptures. 1 Corinthians 6:7 says, “…Therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?” Live the higher life; don’t strive with people. Like Ahab, many people fight for different “Ramoth Gileads” today without listening to the Lord. Don’t function that way

Consider Abraham, who, when he had a land dispute with his nephew, Lot, resolved it without any squabble. Abraham, with a heavenly consciousness, said to his nephew, “...Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren” (Genesis 13:8). That’s the way heavenly people talk. They don’t think they might have a disadvantage. That’s the way you should think, and when you do, you won’t need to fight anyone for anything.

WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? (Be Influenced By God’s Word)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
2 Timothy 3:15 “And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
Day after day, we hear and see things that influence our lives—events that seek to control our joy, happiness, and decisions. But it’s God’s desire that we study and meditate on the Scriptures and be influenced by His Word and not circumstances. God’s Word is able to make you wise and deliver to you your inheritance in Christ. So, never take your mind away from the Word of God, because your glory is in the Word.

The Bible says, “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). If you keep looking at the glory of God in His Word, you’ll be transformed into what you see. Paul said to Timothy, “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Timothy 4:15).

God’s Word is an album that contains God’s pictures of you, and as you flip through the pages in study and meditation, you keep seeing your glorious reflections, and they keep getting better because your life is from glory to glory. So, let the Word influence you. Feed your spirit and mind with the Word. Adjust and renew your thinking with the Word. When your mind is renewed with the Word, God’s thoughts, opinions, and ideas will dominate your mind. Then your mindset will be one of success, victory, health, prosperity, and greatness. Hallelujah!

CHOOSE LIFE (You’re The One To Make That Decision For Yourself)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live”

▶️ LET’S TALK
Even though God wants you to be prosperous, successful, excellent, and sound, you have to line up with the Word and decide to be all He wants you to be. It’s a personal choice that you must make. Anyone can do anything for you, including praying for you and sharing the Word with you, but no one can make decisions for you. You’ve got to do that yourself! God’s role is to guide you through the Word and the Holy Spirit so you can make the right decisions. Your life today has turned out to be the way it is because of the choices you made yesterday. In the same vein, your tomorrow is dependent on the choices and decisions you make today.

God has given you the right to choose either life and blessings or death and curses. He didn’t predestine anyone for failure; rather, He wants you to prosper and be in health (3 John 1:2); He’s ordained a great life for you. Therefore, decide that you’re going to fulfil the dream He has for you and be who He’s destined you to be. It’s your responsibility; no one can do it for you. How you live your life and make your decisions is entirely your responsibility.

You can choose to be a success! You can choose to do exceptionally well in life. It’s a choice that you have to make You might ask, “Is it that simple?” Yes! And I admonish you to make that choice today if you haven’t already. Don’t allow circumstances to determine who you’ll be in life. Make the decision to live the glorious life that God has planned for you.

“GET OUT OF HERE, SATAN!” (Keep The Devil On The Run)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
James 4:7 AMPC “... Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
You know, Satan doesn’t play fair; he’s always up to some tricky business. So, what do you do? Well, you’ve got to be on the offensive against him, always ready for the battle. The Bible says to resist him, but how do you do that? It’s with the Word—the sword of the Spirit! Don’t think the devil is sleeping; he’s not! The Bible says he prowls to and fro like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).

Don’t wait for his fiery darts before putting him in check. What the devil likes to do is get your attention so that you’re always on the defensive. He wants you fighting to get your peace back, to get your health and strength back, or to get things back to normal; ever fighting to restore something; say “No!” Don’t let yourself be hemmed in such a position.

While, with your faith, you’re neutralising all the fiery darts Satan throws at you, always be on the offensive with the “Rhema” of God in your mouth. In Ephesians 6:10-16, the Apostle Paul gave a list of the protective parts of our armour. Then, in the 17th verse, he gave the only offensive tool: “the sword of the Spirit,” which is the “Rhema” of God.

Rhema is Greek for the “spoken word.” In this case, it’s your proclamation of the inspired Word of God for the hour and the season. It’s always a word said or a word in saying; otherwise, it’s not a sword; it’s not a weapon. So, always keep God’s Word on your lips; that’s your weapon to mess up the enemy’s plans and tackle any challenges that come your way

IT’S A SPIRITUAL REACTION (The Word You Hear Imparts Faith To You)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
I remember a certain young man who came to one of our meetings years ago. He came in saying he didn’t believe and wasn’t going to believe any of the things we were sharing. But his friends convinced him to come nonetheless. So he sat in the meeting, trying not to believe. But he was “hearing” the message (remember, faith comes by hearing). Later on, when I had a chat with him, he said, “Somehow, I found myself accepting the things you shared; I believe everything you said.” He couldn’t escape it because faith comes when you hear the Word! Hallelujah!

You might have noticed that sometimes, as you sit listening to or studying God’s Word, your spirit becomes energised. At such times, all the challenges you may have been facing suddenly seem like nothing. The reason is that, at that moment, the Word you’re receiving stirs faith in your heart. The Word of God is spiritual; therefore, it’s even more real than the physical things that your senses perceive.

That’s why, when you receive the Word into your spirit, a spiritual reaction is ignited between your spirit and the Word of God that gives you dominion over circumstances. When that reaction takes place, faith rises in you like a giant, and you have the assurance of victory.

Even if you thought your faith was little or small, Jesus said that little faith can do great things; it can literally move a mountain (Matthew 21:21). Or, perhaps, you’re thinking, “I don’t have faith.” Our opening verse tells us how to get it: faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Whenever you think you don’t have enough faith, it means it’s time for you to hear more of God’s Word. The Word will, of necessity, impart faith to you; it’s a principle of the Kingdom of God. You don’t have to struggle for it to happen; if you’ll pay attention to the Word of God, faith will come to you.

HE DEFENDS YOU (Jesus Christ—Your Eternal Advocate)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
1 John 2:1 NIV “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
The love God has for us is seriously mind-blowing! It’s beyond comprehension! That’s why the Spirit had to pray through the Apostle Paul for the Church to come to an understanding of the immensity and unconditionality of the Father’s love towards us (Ephesians 3:18-19). He sent His Son Jesus to die for us, then He raised Him from the dead and appointed Him as our eternal advocate. Hallelujah!

He said in our opening verse, “…If anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.” No one else qualifies to plead your case except the one who died in your place; He took your place as a sinner and gave you His righteousness. No one can condemn you before the Father.

When Satan, who is described in Scripture as the accuser of God’s people, accuses you and tries to declare you undeserving of God’s blessings, the Lord Jesus, your advocate, stands up in your defence. He pleads your case. The Bible says He loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood (Revelation 1:5). His blood speaks continually in your behalf, cleansing you from all unrighteousness and every stain of sin (1 John 1:7).

Jesus did all that He did in order to present you holy, blameless, and unreprovable in the sight of God (Colossians 1:22). In heaven, Jesus isn’t trying to defend you from the Father’s wrath, for the Father Himself loves you (John 16:27). The Father ordained Jesus to be your advocate—counsel for the defence. With Him on your side, it’s impossible for you to be defeated or disadvantaged. Hallelujah!

THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE (Jesus Christ Is The Judge Of All)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Acts 17:31 TPT “For the appointed day has risen, in which he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has designated. And the proof given to the world that God has chosen this man is this: he resurrected him from among the dead!”

▶️ LET’S TALK
The Bible tells us that the Lord Jesus will be the One to judge the world in righteousness. As John 5:22 declares, “...the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son.” Also, in Acts 10:42, we see that Jesus was appointed by God to be the judge of all men. The Holy Spirit shares the same thought in 2 Timothy 4:1 NIV through the Apostle Paul: “…Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge.”

2 Corinthians 5:10 says, “…We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” The Judgement Seat of Christ is the judgement of God’s people—Christians—where we each receive our rewards from the Master. Everyone will be praised (1 Corinthians 4:5)!

At His return to the earth, Jesus will judge all nations: “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats” (Matthew 25:31-32).

Then, in Revelation 20, we find Jesus executing the most terrifying of all judgements, which are reserved for sinners. It’s called The Great White Throne Judgement: “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them” (Revelation 20:11). These judgements aren’t far away. Therefore, serve the Lord and truly live for Him every day as we await His soon-return.

HOW JESUS REIGNS TODAY (The Lord Reigns Through Us)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Colossians 2:15 ESV “He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
From our opening verse, we see that Jesus made a spectacle of Satan and his cohorts in hell. He spoiled principalities and powers and openly humiliated them. All the spirits of darkness saw this happen. The Conybeare Translation says He disarmed them. Hallelujah! Now, He’s reigning over them and over all things. 1 Corinthians 15:25 says, “For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.” Jesus is in Heaven, seated at the right hand of God, a place of power.

But then, how does He reign over His enemies? Romans 5:17 gives us an idea; it says, “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” He reigns through us! When we reign, He reigns!

And remember, the Bible tells us that grace reigns through righteousness: “So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 5:21). Thus, while we live for Him as His light, His grace works in and through us—His grace for reigning. Hallelujah!

Our job is well cut out for us: it’s to reign in the realm of life and display the virtues and perfections of Christ (1 Peter 2:9 AMPC). This is why He wants us to learn and grow in His Word and put it to work. He wants us to run this world for Him, using the Name of Jesus. We’re the light of the world, and we have overcome the adversary and all adversities; we win by the blessed Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

DOES YOUR HEART BEAT FOR GOD? (Become Passionate For The Lord Jesus And His Church)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Psalm 69:9 AMPC
“For zeal for Your house has eaten me up, and the reproaches and insults of those who reproach and insult You have fallen upon me.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
Every child of God should be passionate about the Church of Christ. David said, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord’” (Psalm 122:1). He was passionate about the house of God! No wonder God described him as a man after His own heart (Acts 13:22). One day, while sitting on his throne, he felt concerned that, as king of Israel, he had a palace to live in, yet God’s people could only worship Him in a tent. So he decided, “I’m going to build God a house.” What a heart!

The Jews were also passionate about the city of God. Psalm 137:1 says, “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept when we remembered Zion.” Notice that the Bible says they remembered Zion. We also find this in Jeremiah 51:50: “You who have escaped the sword, get away! Do not stand still! Remember the Lord afar off, and let Jerusalem come to your mind.” Let Jerusalem come to your mind; in other words, think about Jerusalem. Also in Isaiah 62:6-7, the Lord set watchmen to intercede night and day with passion in their hearts for Jerusalem.

You’re of the Jerusalem which is above and free (Galatians 4:26). Hebrews 12:22 says, “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels.” The Lord has made you a watchman to intercede for the Church of Jesus Christ. You ought to pray and keep praying until the Church of Jesus Christ is a praise in your city, nation, and the regions beyond. Become passionate about the spread of the Gospel. The time is now! Make a decision to impact your world for the Lord Jesus Christ today.

USE GOD’S MIRROR (The Mirror-Principle Of God’s Word)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC
“And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
Some Christians have difficulty believing and acting according to God’s Word because they think God reasons like a human. But God isn’t like man; we’re the ones called to be like Him, to live and act like Him. He’s made this possible through the mirror-principle of the Word. 2 Corinthians 3:18 typifies the Word of God as the mirror of God. James 1:23–24 also says anyone who hears the Word of God is like a man who sees his face in a mirror. In other words, God expects you to hear His Word and do what it says, but many still don’t know how to do the Word.

Now, the mirror-principle of the Word is that you see yourself as what God sees you to be in His Word and then, consequently, act. It’s that easy to do the Word! For example, in the Word, the mirror of God, He says, you’re a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17). That’s God’s image and reflection of you. See that image and endorse it. Act like it’s true, for it’s true. Again, He shows you in the Word that you’re the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21)— say and see it so. That’s His image of you.

Seeing yourself in the Word—the mirror of God—and acting accordingly is the way to live in the reality of your inheritance in Christ. That’s how to enjoy all that God has made available to you in Christ Jesus. I urge you to use your mirror today: keep studying and listening to the Word of God. As you do, you’ll be transfigured to become more and more like the glory you see in the Word. This is the mirror-principle of the Word.

EXUBERANT JOY (Experience God’s Indescribable Joy Daily)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Psalm 16:11 “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
J oy is a product of the recreated human spirit. Some people haven’t understood the power of a joyful and merry heart; otherwise, they’d always let the joy of the Lord that’s in their spirit gain the mastery. It’s possible to experience indescribable joy every day. Our opening scripture says, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore,” meaning that the divine influence of God upon your life—the presence of God in your spirit—brings indescribable joy to your life. That’s what the Bible describes as joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8 KJV).

The good thing about joy is that it never comes alone. When it comes into your spirit, it comes with laughter, gladness, and happiness. It removes heaviness and gloom from you, such that when people see you, instead of asking, “What’s the problem?” they’ll say, “You’re looking radiant; share the good news with us.” Choose to always be joyful! It’s your responsibility to keep the joy of the Spirit bubbling in your life. Whenever something tries to bother or depress you, don’t submit to it. Rather, consciously subdue it with the joy of the Lord from within your spirit by laughing your way to victory.

Remember, laughter is one of the characteristics of a joyful and merry heart. So, when the laughter of the Spirit wells up in your heart like that, don’t try to stop it. Keep laughing until you saturate your spirit with joy. That way, not only are you declaring your victory, but the devil and his demons will be discomfited, because they can’t stand an atmosphere of joy, love, and gladness.

THE FAITH CURRENCY (Faith: The Ability To Get Whatever You Desire)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Hebrews 11:1 AMPC “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”

▶️ LET’S TALK
Faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God, and one of the things it does is bring to your spirit a picture of possibilities. The scripture above defines faith as the evidence of unseen realities—the proof of the existence of those things that are unseen to the optical eye but can be seen in the spirit. Let’s say you asked the Lord for a new jacket and declared afterwards, “I have that new jacket in the Name of Jesus.” If what you’re exercising is really faith, it means the jacket is already yours. In your spirit, you’ve possessed it, even though you’re yet to see it physically hanging in your closet.

The Bible says faith calls those things that are not as though they were (Romans 4:17). Thus, in the arena of faith, your confessions aren’t based on the things that you can see or perceive with your natural senses but on the things of the Spirit that are invisible to the natural eye. By this principle, therefore, you’ve purchased the jacket by faith and can actually wear it, as it were, even before it manifests physically. Jesus Himself amplified this principle when He said in Mark 11:24: “...Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” This means that your ability to get whatever you desire isn’t primarily dependent on your wallet or physical ability but on your faith.

With faith in your heart, the condition of your spirit will not be affected by the circumstances around you. Remember, champions in life are those who, through faith, obtain a good report from God, because faith is the basis for pleasing Him.

ONLY POSSIBILITIES! (You Can Do The Unthinkable, The Unimaginable, And The Impossible)

👤 Pastor Chris

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Matthew 19:26 NASB “And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.””

▶️ LET’S TALK
When the Bible says, “With God, all things are possible,” it’s not necessarily telling us that God can do all things; that’s not news. If there’s a God in heaven, then He must be omnipotent and be able to do all things; that’s to be expected. Therefore, when it says, “With God, all things are possible,” it’s about who is with you or in you. If God is with you, anything is possible.

Having received the Holy Spirit, you’re that young man or lady in whom God dwells; therefore, you’re invincible, with limitless potentials and abilities. You can do the unthinkable, the unimaginable, and the impossible! This consciousness is what inspired Paul to say, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Have the “I-can-do” mentality. You may think you’re young, but know this: With the Holy Spirit, you’re bigger than the world! Refuse to be limited by anything, including money. The Bible doesn’t say, “With money, all things are possible.” It says, “...with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

The pertinent question to ask yourself is, does God live in you? That’s what’s important! If He truly is in you and you yield to Him—following all His wisdom and guidance—you’ll never be in a fix, you’ll never be stranded or helpless in life. Remember what transpired between Peter and the lame man at the gate of the temple called Beautiful? He said to him, “...”Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you…”” (Acts 3:6). Peter knew he wasn’t limited. He knew he had something greater than money! Never measure your life by money, friends, or earthly parameters. The One who lives in you makes all things possible for you; He’s taken all barriers and impossibilities away. Glory, hallelujah!
