GUARD YOUR TONGUE! (Your Confessions Control Your Life)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Psalm 91:2 AMPC “I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Oftentimes, we think about certain things that happened to some very “good” people and say, “If that could happen to So-and-so, what about me? That fellow was better than I am!” Well, it’s got nothing to do with who’s better than who. It’s got to do with your personal walk with the Lord and your faith in His Word. It’s about your faith-confessions. Bad things can happen to good people.
Ponder again on the anointed words of the Psalmist that we read in our opening scripture. It was David’s confession, and it’s got to become your confession as well. Every so often, you say, “The Lord is my Refuge and my Fortress; He’s my God; on Him, I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!”
Learn the power and value of thinking right and speaking right. If your thinking is wrong, it’ll reflect in your words. And if your words are wrong, things will go wrong in your life. Your confessions regulate your life. The Bible says, “You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth” (Proverbs 6:2).
No wonder Psalm 39:1 admonishes that you guard what you say and speak only what’s right: “…I will guard my ways, lest I sin with my tongue; I will restrain my mouth with a muzzle….” James 3:2 says, “…We all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.” Proverbs 15:4 says, “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life...”; a wholesome tongue is one that speaks in line with the provisions of Christ in His Gospel.
Do you want to live the awesome, transcendent life of ever-increasing glory that God has destined for you? The key is your confessions: ‘For “He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit”’ (1 Peter 3:10). Refraining your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile means that you only speak in conformity with the Word of God.

OUTSIDE THE SENSE REALM (The Faith-Life Of A Christian)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Everything a Christian does must be by faith to be accepted by the Lord. Romans 14:23 says, “… whatever is not from faith is sin.” Romans 1:17 tells us that “… the just shall live by faith.” So, faith is the conscious lifestyle of the Christian. The Word of God teaches us that faith is the victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). There’s a system in this world with tests, trials, and temptations that we must overcome on a daily basis, and our faith is what guarantees our victory.
Through study and meditation on the Word, your faith grows and prevails; your focus, therefore, must always be on God’s Word and not on circumstances. Refuse to be moved by what you feel or what your senses tell you. Man became a slave to his senses through Adam’s transgression; his spirit became subject to his senses. Romans 8:8 tells us that those who are controlled by their senses—the flesh— cannot please God. But thank God, the ninth verse says, “… you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you….”
If you’re born again, you’re born of the Spirit and are therefore required to walk in the Spirit; that means living the Word and seeing only from God’s perspective. Your outlook on life should be from the standpoint of faith and of the Word. A man can either walk by faith or by his senses. The Bible says, “...those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God...” (Romans 9:8). The children of the flesh are those who are ruled and dominated by their senses. Instead of walking by faith, they’re controlled by what they can physically see, hear, touch, taste, or smell.
The Bible says we “…do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). You must live as a man or woman of faith every day by disregarding temporal circumstances and focusing on the eternal realities of our heavenly Kingdom. Remember, without faith, it’s impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).

REFUSE VIOLENCE AND ANGER! (Don’t Let Them Rule You)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
2 Chronicles 18:23 TLB “…Zedekiah (son of Chenaanah) walked up to Micaiah and slapped him across the face. “You liar!” he yelled. “When did the Spirit of the Lord leave me and enter you?”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Ahab, the king of Israel, wanted to go to war to reclaim Ramothgilead, a land he believed was rightfully his, and he invited his friend Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, to go with him. Jehoshaphat agreed but requested Ahab to call the prophets in the land to know what God thought about the decision.
Ahab called the prophets, including Zedekiah. The Bible says, ‘…All the prophets were staging a prophecy-performance for their benefit. Zedekiah son of Kenaanah had even made a set of iron horns, and brandishing them, called out, “God’s word! With these horns you’ll gore Aram until there’s nothing left of them!” All the prophets chimed in, “Yes! Go for Ramoth Gilead! An easy victory! God’s gift to the king!” (2 Chronicles 18:9-10 MSG).
In spite of this unanimous prophecy, Jehoshaphat still wanted some more confirmation. It was at this point that Ahab sent for Micaiah. But amazingly, the prophecy of Micaiah was different from that of Zedekiah. After Zedekiah had said to Ahab, “Go, the Lord is with you,” Micaiah said, “God isn’t with you on this mission.” So, who was “lying” here?
The Bible shows whose prophecy couldn’t have been from the Lord. Their response and disposition let us know who was being moved by the Spirit of God and who wasn’t. Zedekiah, in anger, slapped Micaiah in the face for daring to give a word that contradicted what he had prophesied! Evidently, Zedekiah’s behavior was contrary to the Spirit of God.
Look at Jesus! The only time He responded to anybody in anger was when worshippers abused His Father’s house, and it was holy anger. He had a strong zeal for His Father’s house (Psalm 69:9). He never responded in anger to what anyone did against Him. No matter what was said to Him or about Him, He never responded in anger.
Don’t let anger or violence rule you; be yielded to God’s Spirit. Always maintain the right attitude that’s befitting to your nature as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, regardless of how pressured you might be to act otherwise.

READY FOR THE RAPTURE? (The Lord Is Coming With A Shout!)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 ESV “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
How I’m looking forward to the coming of the Lord at the Rapture of the Church! I hope you are too. He’s coming with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God! He’s coming “with a bang.” Hallelujah!
This isn’t going to be an ordinary shout; it’ll be so loud, every Christian who ever died will hear it and come back to life! The Bible says the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we that are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air. And the Bible says, “...so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
That shout reminds me of the story in John 11: “And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes...” (John 11:43- 44). Jesus shouted, and Lazarus came hopping out of the grave, still bound in gravecloth. If Jesus hadn’t singled out Lazarus, calling him by name, every dead person would have heard His shout and come out of the grave! But He was specific when He shouted, “Lazarus, come forth!” He’s going to shout again, and when He does, only those who had lived for Him before they died and those of us living for Him now will hear it at the Rapture of the Church!
That day is coming; are you ready? That’s what all this is for! That’s why we’re sending Rhapsody of Realities around the world in every language: we’re preparing the nations for His return. We want to reach every man, woman, boy and girl on the face of the earth with the Gospel: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14).

STAY FULL! (Practise Being Full Of The Spirit Always)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Ephesians 5:18 AMPC “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
When I just started in ministry, whenever I had an upcoming programme or event, I always knew I had to be prepared by being filled with the Spirit. And so I practised being filled with the Spirit just as Ephesians 5:18 says. When I got filled like that, there was always a manifestation of the supernatural. But later on, I thought to myself, “If being filled with the Spirit every now and then could be so wonderful, how about staying filled with the Spirit?”
That glorious power that was available and in manifestation during those events, I wanted it always for my daily life. I discovered that being filled with the Spirit could actually be always; I went for it and stayed there! It’s like swimming: there’s a way one might swim and get drowned; there’s also a way to swim and remain afloat.
I discovered I could swim in the Spirit and stay afloat. I discovered that was what God always wanted for us: staying filled with the Spirit, which was much easier than being filled occasionally. It’s a practice. You can go from practising being filled with the Spirit sometimes to being filled every day, and then learn being filled always.
Study and meditate on Ephesians 5:18–21 (AMPC) to learn how to be filled and stay filled with the Spirit. It’s the best life! You can’t stay filled with the Spirit and be dominated by sickness, failure, or lack. You’d discover that your results are endlessly increasing, your life is forward and upward, and you walk in blessings only. Hallelujah!

THE GRACE DISPENSATION (It’s The Day Of His Mercy And Grace)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
James 2:13 NIV “...Mercy triumphs over judgement.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Someone might see the evil, wickedness, deception, suffering, and cruelty in the world today and conclude they’re a result of God’s judgement due to sin. But that’s not entirely true. We’re in the day of God’s mercy and His grace; we’re in a new dispensation, so it’s different today from how it was in the Old Testament.
The evil happenings in the world today aren’t judgements from God; rather, they’re actions and orchestrations of Satan upon the world. You can easily discern this by the Spirit and through the Word. It’s the reason God expects us to respond by addressing Satan, cutting off his influence from our world and from men’s lives.
There’s sin, but Jesus already paid the price for sin on behalf of all men. The Bible says, “Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus...” (Romans 8:1 AMPC). The word translated “condemnation” is the same as judgement. Jesus was judged in our place, and not just for us but for the whole world. The Bible says, “And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world” (1 John 2:2).
Satan wants to make people believe that God is mad at them, punishing them and inflicting them with pain, whereas God isn’t the one behind it, but Satan. Our job, therefore, is to let the world know that God isn’t mad at them; rather, He’s made righteousness and eternal life available and free in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:19).
The Bible says, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Lamentations 3:22 KJV says, “It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” We’re in the dispensation of His overflowing grace and mercy. Glory to God!

YOU’RE A SOLDIER (Your Role In The Gospel Of Christ)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
As God’s children, our role in the Gospel is clearly defined. Our Lord Jesus said, “...Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). In Matthew 28:19, He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Like the Apostle Paul, you ought to personalise your role in the Gospel and say, “According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust” (1 Timothy 1:11). The Gospel has been committed to your trust; how faithful are you to its spread around the world? Has it dawned on you that you’re a soldier and that taking the Gospel to every man’s world as Jesus asked us to do means war?
In every nation, you have civilians and the army. The army has a role that’s clearly defined for them: to defend the nation, protect vital national interests, and fulfil national military responsibilities. You’re in God’s army (2 Timothy 2:3-4), working in sync and in partnership with an unseen heavenly host to cover the earth with God’s righteousness.
By God’s principles, these heavenly hosts can’t do the things they need to do without us, and there’s a whole lot we can’t do without them. You have a role in the scheme of things. You’re God’s watchman, His mouthpiece, and His messenger. You’re a co-labourer with God, His minister of reconciliation: “… God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19 NIV). While there’s a raging battle for the souls of men, God needs you to prevail in prayer and preach the Gospel with all fervour.

REFUSE TO RECOGNISE IT! (You’ve Already Surmounted All Obstacles In Your Path)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Ephesians 2:10 AMPC “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Every one of us has a path that’s preordained by God for us to walk in life. It’s a path of success and greatness. However, as you journey, you’ll collide with forces or situations that’ll test your faith. For David, there was a bear and a lion. Afterward, there was a Goliath, the armies of the Philistines, and then lots of other armies. But he defeated them all. Hallelujah! I’m not sure what’s in your path, but there’s surely something in your path. But one thing is certain: You’ve already won. That’s why the Bible says, “My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can!” (James 1:2 TPT).
The challenges or obstacles in your path are all mirages. When you get to them, don’t cry. Don’t start begging God to do something. Don’t cower. When you meet that “masked devil,” which could mean a stumbling block in your studies, a limitation or restriction in your soulwinning or evangelical efforts, or some issues in your health, you say, “In the Name of Jesus Christ, get out of my way!”
When you say that, it may seem the obstacle is still there; refuse to recognise it and keep journeying. Don’t keep observing it; instead, close your eyes against it and begin to utter incantations of the Spirit, speaking in tongues. Then, as David charged towards Goliath, charge towards that obstacle and walk through in the Name of Jesus, as the Spirit inspires you.
God took care of it before you got there. Now you understand the reason He tells you not to worry. It’s because when you face the biggest troubles, He steps in. You don’t need to shout. You don’t need to kick. You don’t need to push. Just keep going; just walk through! Hallelujah!

JESUS: GOD’S LOVE MANIFESTED (Experience Divine Love With The Father)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
John 15:13 NIV “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
“Christmas is my absolute favourite day of the year,” Spencer exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with joy. “It’s a time to exchange gifts and spread happiness to the people we love!”
“Absolutely, Spencer!” Carlos agreed, “Christmas is super special because it’s when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who is God’s love manifested to us.”
Jesus was God’s sacrificial lamb to die and pay the price for the salvation of the world, to bring men into divine fellowship with the Father. Before the foundation of the world, God planned that you’d live in His love (Ephesians 1:5-6). He planned that, in Christ, you’d be the proof of His goodness. Ephesians 2:10 AMPC says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”
Jesus experienced the love of the Father the way no man ever did. He walked in the Father, and the Father walked in Him (John 14:10). We’re to do the same as admonished in Ephesians 5:1-2 AMPC: “Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance.”
He saved us with His own love and gave His life for us so we could experience the Father’s love through fellowship. Now we can better understand the angel’s message to the shepherds in Luke 2:11-14: ““For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”” Hallelujah!

ONCE FOR ALL TIME (His Death Was A One-Time Sacrifice)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Hebrews 9:12 “Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
The Bible refers to the first tabernacle in the Old Testament as that which “…was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience” (Hebrews 9:9). The Old Testament priests gave different offerings and sacrifices to God, such as “...foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances…” (Hebrews 9:10).
But when Jesus Christ came, His sacrifice was His own blood; He offered Himself. Whereas the priests of the Old Testament had to offer sacrifices year after year for a yearly atonement, Jesus did it once and obtained eternal redemption for mankind. The previous will—the offering of the blood of animals—wasn’t God’s best and not what He wanted. So, Jesus said, “...Behold, I have come—in the volume of the book it is written of Me—to do Your will, O God” (Hebrews 10:7).
The Bible says the Old Testament priests were “... offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man (Jesus Christ), after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:11-12). No wonder the Apostle Paul, while ministering to some unsaved Jews in Antioch, unveiled an extraordinary truth.
He said, “…Through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:38-39). Blessed be God! Tell it everywhere and to everyone: Christ Jesus has consummated man’s eternal redemption once and for all. Hallelujah!

2 Corinthians 5:18 “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
In the New Testament, you’ll notice that the word “minister” is used quite a bit. It’s interesting to know there’re three Greek words from which it’s translated. The first one is “doulos,” which is like a servant or a slave. Paul sometimes called himself a “doulos” (a bondservant)—a slave or servant of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:1).
Then there’s another Greek word for “minister” called “hupēretēs,” which refers to the office of ministry, like we find in the story of the conversion of the Apostle Paul on his way to Damascus. During that conversion, Jesus said to Paul, “...I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you” (Acts 26:16).
And the third meaning of the word “minister” is one that applies to every Christian. It’s “diakonia” (Greek), which refers to a person who serves, like someone who’s a waiter. In Acts 6:4, it’s used to describe the ministry of spreading the Word: “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
We all have the responsibility to be servants of Christ, servants of His message and of one another. You have a responsibility to be a witness for Christ and to deliver the Gospel to other people. God has made you a competent minister of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 3:6 NIV).
So, go wild for the Lord! Open your mouth and declare His Word of salvation boldly anywhere you find yourself. He’s counting on you.

ALL HIS WEALTH IS YOURS! (You Have All Things In Him)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Colossians 1:27 NASB “To whom God willed to make known what the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles is, the mystery that is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
With wide-eyed wonder, Daniella meditated on a Bible verse that showed her the abundant wealth she possessed in Christ. That verse was Colossians 1:27, and her heart raced as she mused on the truth that Christ was in her, meaning she had been brought into a life of unending glory.
You know, the essence of Christianity—the glory and joy of all that Jesus came to do—is Christ in you. Christ in you is everything. Christ in you is heaven in you; it’s divinity in you. Now that you have Christ, you have everything. No wonder Paul said, “Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21). Hallelujah!
Here’s something remarkable to ponder: Romans 6:23 says, “…The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” That’s a fundamental truth of the Gospel. However, as you get higher in the understanding of the Gospel, you’ll discover that Jesus really doesn’t stand away and give you eternal life; He’s Himself eternal life. In giving you eternal life, He actually gave you Himself. Hallelujah.
The moment you come to terms with this reality, it’ll change your thinking and prayer life. You’d stop asking God for things. If it’s true that you have Christ (and thank God it’s true), what then could you possibly be in need of? Christ is everything, and everything is in Christ. Stop asking God for what you already have in Christ. For example, don’t ask God for healing; take divine health, for it’s your nature in Christ Jesus. The victorious life is yours in Christ. Everything you require for an extraordinary life of glory and righteousness is already yours in Christ (2 Peter 1:3).
Now, you can understand why the Lord Jesus said in Luke 12:22, “...Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.” He’s your sufficiency; in Him, you have all things. Hallelujah!

HE ACTS ON WORDS (God’s Spirit And His Word)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Genesis 1:2-3 “The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
When you read the Psalms, you’ll notice that David knew the value of words, and he taught his son, Solomon, the same. It was Solomon who said, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” (Proverbs 18:21). David, his father, taught him that. David knew that death and life weren’t in the power of the sword; they’re in the power of the tongue. And he proved it when he confronted Goliath of Gath. You need to understand how he defeated Goliath.
It’s easy to think that he defeated Goliath with a smooth stone and a sling. But no, it was with words! Study the account in 1 Samuel 17. He was sure of defeating Goliath because he put his faith in words. He used the tools as guided by the wisdom of God. He had the stone, the sling, and words coming out of his mouth. He knew he didn’t take Goliath out with a stone; the Spirit of God was upon him, and the Spirit of God used words.
Words release spirit-power. Without words, the Spirit will do nothing. Read our opening verse again. The Spirit was all over the world, but nothing changed. Then the Bible says, “And God said…”; suddenly, the Spirit acted, and whatever God said became! Hallelujah!
At the second coming of Jesus, the Bible says He’ll smite the antichrist “…with the spirit of his mouth...” (2 Thessalonians 2:8), which refers to the sword of the Spirit, which is the “Rhema” of God—words coming out of His mouth (Revelation 19:15, Ephesians 6:17).
When you speak the Word, you release the power of God into action on your behalf. So, when you face crises in life, don’t cower. Don’t panic. Speak words! Speak and effect a change. Jesus said you shall have whatever you say (Mark 11:23). Remember, words are powerful, but God’s Word is all-powerful. Glory to His Name forever!

YOU’VE SWAPPED REALMS (Out Of Satan’s Domain, And Born Into God’s Kingdom)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Colossians 1:12-13 “Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
When you’re born again, something amazing happens: You’re moved from Satan’s realm of darkness into God’s Kingdom. It’s the domain of life, light, and great glory. Satan has no claims over you or anything that has to do with you because you’re not in his jurisdiction. You were called out of Satan’s domain into God’s marvellous light: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
Those who aren’t born again, however, are by nature in bondage to Satan, buffeted by the adversities and terrors of life, unable to free themselves. They’re in gross darkness, with no hope of ever coming out, because they’re living without God. Their only hope is to receive salvation in Christ Jesus.
This should immediately get you thinking about your family members, friends, classmates, and neighbours who haven’t yet known the Lord. You’re God’s vessel to bring them into salvation in Christ, to bring them out of darkness and the domain of Satan into the light and glorious liberty of the sons of God. 2 Corinthians 5:19 says, “That is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” No human being can save himself; we couldn’t have done it by ourselves, and that’s why Jesus came.
Through His vicarious death, salvation became possible, and through His glorious resurrection, eternal life was made available. It’s what makes us superior to Satan and above the elements of this present world of darkness: we have eternal life—the God-nature! Hallelujah!

TWO IMPORTANT VIRTUES (Walk In Faith And Love)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Have you ever wondered why people sin? There are two reasons: “fear” and “selfishness.” But thankfully, from the moment we were born again, God gave us “faith” and “love” to replace those two. When you walk by faith, you won’t live in fear. When you walk in love, you won’t be selfish. Therefore, when you function in faith and love, you won’t sin; nothing done by faith and in love could ever be sin.
Love is self-giving; when you love, you give. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16). Selfishness thinks only of itself, while love is considerate and puts others first. 1 John 4:18 says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” If you’re born again, you’re born of love; you have the nature of love and righteousness, and can live above sin.
However, if you do something wrong, the Bible says, “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world” (1 John 2:1-2). And also in Ephesians 1:7, it says, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
Therefore, all you need to do is say, “Father, I know what I’ve done is wrong, and I’m sorry; I ask and receive your forgiveness, in the Name of Jesus.” That’s how you live free from sin and sin-consciousness.

KEEP BURNING, KEEP SHINING (Go All Out For The Lord)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
John 5:35 “He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
When Goliath of Gath taunted the armies of Israel, they felt helpless and intimidated, until David showed up. David knew he could defeat Goliath, and he did! It wasn’t about physical strength but about ideology. The difference between David and the others was his way of thinking. He started by saying, “…who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26). The circumcision didn’t mean anything to the others, but it sure meant something to David. He saw the armies of Israel as the armies of God. Hallelujah!
David couldn’t imagine God’s people being defeated; it didn’t matter who the adversaries were. Think like that. Your desire should be to see the glory of God in and on His people and upon His congregations. David said, “O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you” (Psalm 63:1-3 NIV).
That should be your passion as a Christian: God must receive glory everywhere you are and everywhere you go. Even if others around you don’t think much about soul winning, be different. Be a burning and a shining light in your home, school, neighbourhood, etc. Let your light shine so brightly that everyone may see your good works and be provoked to righteousness.

MORE THAN INSTRUCTIONS (The Word Is Your Life, So Set Your Heart On It)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Deuteronomy 32:46-47 ‘…He said to them: “Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe—all the words of this law. For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess.”’
▶️ LET’S TALK
When Lewis’ dad surprised him with the latest video game console, his joy knew no bounds. Eagerly, he invited his friends over for a test session. Excitement filled the air as they unpacked the console, connected it to the TV, and prepared for a gaming marathon. To their dismay, the console refused to turn on! The reason was they’d overlooked reading the manual during the setup and missed a critical step. Once they followed the instructions meticulously, the console sprang to life, and they were able to enjoy their gaming experience to the fullest.
Just as Lewis’ game console came with a manual to help him operate it properly, we also have a manual for our lives—God’s Word. It instructs and guides us, but it’s more than a book of instructions; God’s Word is life! The children of Israel saw the Law as instructions, but Moses regarded the Law as life. As a result, Moses knew the ways of God, while the children of Israel were only acquainted with His acts.
The Word of God is the mirror of God that unveils His character, as well as His image of you. The Word of God mirrors you. For example, the Word says, “…count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience” (James 1:2-3). What God is showing you here is beyond an instruction; He’s showing you the glory in the Word and the kind of person He’s made you; you’re the one who counts it all joy irrespective of the tests, trials, and tribulations, because you know you’ll always triumph!
This is your life. Think, talk, and live according to the picture of you that you see in the Word! Be who the Word says you are! Satan, circumstances, and situations may try to sway you otherwise, but stick only with the picture the Word of God has presented to you. And as you keep looking into the mirror of God, you become what you see.

PUT HIM ON DISPLAY (Set Forth The Virtues And Perfections Of Christ)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
1 Peter 2:9 AMPC “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
“There’s something about Anna I just can’t seem to place my finger on,” Doris said.
“Yeah, she’s really cool; she has no airs about her even though she’s at the very top of her class,” Benita added.
“I know why,” Rodney interjected, “She’s a Christian, and shows in her character and behaviour.”
Like Anna, every Christian ought to reflect God’s glory in everything they say and do. As one who’s born again, it matters whose character is reflected in your life. When you talk, whom do you portray? Let Christ be heard in your words, and let Him be seen in your actions. Don’t let people hear you and have the impression that you’re wild, arrogant or violent. If Christ is in you, let Him talk through you; let Him see through your eyes and work with your hands; let Him show up in your life!
Every time you respond to situations, let it be Christ in you responding. Remember, He lives in you; you’re a “carrier” of His divine glory. You’re the reflector, as well as the reflection, of His glory. That’s what the Word means by “…being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person…” (Hebrews 1:3). You might say, “But that verse refers to Jesus!” Yes, but you’re like Him (1 John 4:17). So, don’t act in the flesh; express the beauty of God’s holiness that’s inside you. Express His righteousness.
Live His Word; portray the virtues and perfections of Christ with your life, because you represent Him. Think, talk, and act like Him. Meditate on His Word; His Word shows you His way of thinking; His Word reveals His personality to us. So, the more you study the Word and act on it, the more you characterise Him with your life. Portray His character of love, righteousness, goodness, and compassion with your life, because your world may never know Him until they meet you. Never forget that.

NOT A WASTE OF TIME! (When You Pray, You Cause Significant Changes In The Spirit)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Ephesians 6:18 CEV “Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God’s people.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
“Marcia, why do you devote so much time to prayer?” Vanessa inquired.
“Yeah, is prayer your entire focus? Spending extensive hours in what seems like idleness and a waste of time won’t bring about change, Marcia,” Laurie remarked.
In spite of her roommates’ criticisms, Marcia cherished her daily intimate moments of prayer even more, having witnessed firsthand the transformative power of prayer in her life.
Those who don’t understand the power in prayer and don’t understand the spirit realm are the ones who think that prayer is the lazy man’s way. John Wesley, the great English minister, once said, “It appears God will do nothing except we pray.” He made this important statement because he observed that changes took place in his life and ministry and in society when he and others prayed.
There’re many results we’ll never see except we pray. It’s God’s way of relating with us; He asked us to do it. Jesus prayed, and He taught us to pray. He said, “…Men ought always to pray and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). Why did He pray so much? It’s because He was living in a world of darkness and needed to effect changes in men’s lives. It’s one of the reasons He was so effective.
With so much going on in our world today, we should never think we’re helpless; there’s something we can do. Any Christian can actually effect changes. Don’t be like the person who says defeatedly, “All I can do is just pray.” No. We don’t just pray. In our prayers, we’re purposeful enough to make definite changes. God never told us to “just pray” as a form of religion. He told us to pray so that things would change to our advantage.
Remember what Jesus said: “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” (Acts 1:8). That power is the dynamic ability to cause changes and it’s in you now. So, when next you take up a matter in prayer, no matter how urgent it is, don’t for a second think you’re wasting time by praying. Instead, be conscious that you’re bringing the power of the Spirit of God to bear on that situation.

LIVE LIKE JESUS (Start The New Year Right By Following The Lord’s Example)

1 John 4:17 “…As He is, so are we in this world.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Happy New Year! Oh, what a beautiful year 2024 will be as we set our eyes on the Lord! You know, every time I read about Jesus in the Word, I’m greatly inspired. I see no greater example for life, nor a greater model. I’m inspired by His thoughts, by His deeds, by His passion, by His love, and by His excellence. His words went forth with transformative power. Men heard Him and were transformed forever. Demons heard His voice and scampered in terror. Circumstances responded to His words.
How could He be so powerful and yet so loving, forgiving, and gracious? Jesus inspires me so much that all I ever want is to be like Him. He sent us the Holy Spirit to help us act like Him, think like Him, and be powerful, loving, and passionate like Him. When you’re filled with the Spirit, you’re filled with Jesus. That’s the Spirit that defined His earthly existence. Today, in His love, He gave us the same Spirit in full measure. Hallelujah! No wonder He said, “…As the Father has sent Me, I also send you” (John 20:21). So, we go with the same love, the same power, the same passion, the same forgiveness, and the same grace. Hallelujah!
Don’t entertain anything that’ll make you bitter or enraged towards someone else. Let Jesus inspire you. Walk in. love and inspire others to love. Be like Jesus! When He walked this earth, He was God tabernacled in human flesh, full of grace, glory, and truth, and the Bible says, “...As He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). YOU KNOW GOD’S WAYS (His Ways Are Now Your Ways)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Matthew 13:11 “…It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Those who don’t know God are quick to say, “His ways are not our ways; His thoughts are not our thoughts.” But for us who are born again, His ways are our ways. We’re born of Him, created in His image and likeness. That means we look like Him, and we function like Him. Moreover, we have the same life and nature as Him.
1 Corinthians 2:16 says, “…But we have the mind of Christ.” He’s given us His thoughts, so we can think like Him. Ephesians 5:1 tells us to imitate Him. Hallelujah! Recall the words of the Master in our opening scripture: He said it’s our heritage to know the mysteries of the Kingdom.
The description of His character is clearly unveiled to us in the Scriptures; you can tell who He is, you can describe God by Jesus Christ, and you know what to expect of Him. You can predict His response. He has revealed Himself and His will to us through His written Word and through the Holy Spirit. The Bible says He showed His ways to Moses.
The only time He said, “My ways are not your ways” (Isaiah 55:8-9), which some people quote out of context, was because Israel, at the time, walked away from God’s ways. His desire is for our ways to correspond with His ways. He calls and invites us to walk in His ways.
If He didn’t show us His ways, how could we walk in sync with Him? So, His ways aren’t mysterious; His ways are revealed to us in His Word. If you know Him as your Father, He is not a mystery anymore. Yes, He’s a mystery to the world and to those who don’t know Him, but we’re family; we’re His children. We live in His Kingdom, and we know His ways. Praise God.

YOU CAN PROPHESY! (The Spirit Of God Has Been Poured Out Upon All Mankind)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Acts 2:17 TLB “‘In the last days,’ God said, ‘I will pour out my Holy Spirit upon all mankind, and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men dream dreams.’”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Did you notice that the first response or result of having the Spirit poured out upon all mankind was that men and women would prophesy? It shows the importance of prophecy in prayer. Until you find yourself prophesying in prayer, you haven’t utilised the power and benefits of prayer.
Prophecy is two-fold: we speak forth and we foretell. The key is being filled with the Spirit. The Bible says in Ephesians 5:18, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit” (KJV). The underlined expression connotes something that’s supposed to continue. The proper rendering is actually, “Be being filled with the Spirit.”
That means you should always be filled with the Spirit. If you’re that way, your prayer life will be enriched with prophecy, where you speak forth God’s Word and you foretell the future. Don’t leave your future in the hands of others; create your “aion”—course of life—with prophecy.
As a young person, how your life goes depends a lot on you. Likewise, as the Church of Jesus Christ, we must also recognise that we have a responsibility to determine what happens in our communities. That’s why our prayers must be laden with prophecies. Whenever we come together to pray, we must know we’re coming together to determine the future of our cities, our nations, and our world through our prophetic utterances. Hallelujah!

DO YOU NEED IT? (Your “Need” Activates Your Faith)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Mark 11:22-23 AMPC “And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! And does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
“Why didn’t my faith work when I commanded that the sky turn red?” Nelson, a young Christian, asked, demanding answers from his Care Group leader. “I thought faith always works!”
“Yes, faith always works, but your faith is activated by your need. Did you really “need” the sky to turn red?”
“No, I didn’t; I was just trying to see if it would,” Nelson answered sheepishly, knowing his leader was right.
Someone once said, “I’ve never seen anybody move a mountain with faith; was Jesus just using symbolism or did He mean what He said in Mark 11:22-23? Can you really command a mountain to move?” Yes, Jesus meant it. But Jesus wasn’t talking about a game. He wasn’t saying that we go out in the street and say, “I’m here to show you how powerful I am”; then you start commanding mountains and buildings to move. No! The question is, why would you want to move a physical mountain? To what intent and purpose?
Our faith is always connected to our needs. If there’s no need for it, there’ll be no faith to it. So, you may find yourself trying to make something happen that won’t happen because there’s no need to activate faith in the first place. Faith is activated only when there’s a need for it. When you find yourself in a situation and you have a “need,” don’t despair; that need will activate your faith. It’s like the fellow who was healed of cancer; he didn’t know he could make it happen until he was told he had only one month to live. The news triggered his faith, and he began to declare, “I shall not die but live,” and indeed, he was healed. Hallelujah!
Never be overwhelmed with your needs; rather, let your needs connect to your faith. Let your needs excite you. Once you connect to a need, that’s your opportunity to overwhelm your need with your faith. Praise God!

HE IS SO GOOD! (God’s Goodness Leads To Repentance)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Romans 2:4 “…Do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?”
▶️ LET’S TALK
Romans 2:4 has this incredible insight about how amazing God’s goodness is: it provides the opportunity for repentance. In the Old Testament, the threat of judgement didn’t get the children of Israel to repent or obey God. But in the New Testament, He didn’t threaten us with judgements because we’re His obedient ones (1 Peter 1:14). We’re described as having “obeyed” His Word of truth from the heart (Romans 6:17). Thus, He brought us into His goodness and love. Instead of judgement, He shows us His mercy.
God knows that if we would preach and tell the world about His love and goodness, they’d repent and turn to Him. 2 Corinthians 5:18 NIV says, “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” This is the difference. He knows we’ve sinned, but in Christ, He’s not counting our sins against us.
Joel, in his prophecy (Joel 2:10-13), along with Zephaniah, said the people’s sins were being counted against them, and because of that, judgement was coming to them (Zephaniah 1:14-15). But in our day, it’s different. The problem of sin was taken care of through the sacrifice of Jesus in our behalf. As a result of that sacrifice, God reconciled the world to Himself; He brought humanity into peace with Himself. Now He has sent us to take the message of His goodness and love to the world and reconcile people to Him.
Therefore, make this Christmas count for someone who hasn’t yet known the Lord. You’ll meet them at the mall. They’ll be at that family function you plan to attend. They’ll be at the park or on your way home from church. Let them know God isn’t punishing them for their sins. He already laid the punishment on Jesus Christ in their place, and if they’d only believe, eternal life and righteousness would be imparted to their spirits. Hallelujah!

A WAVE OR A PARTICLE? (The Bible Explains It All)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
The opening verse of Scripture above is so powerful. It lets us know that from invisible things, the visible things of this world are created. It brings to mind a major fundamental principle upon which modern physics is based: the wave-particle duality. It’s the confusion as to whether subatomic particles (if they should be called particles, electrons, or protons) are waves or particles because of a mysterious result in their experiments.
They demonstrated with an electron and found out it had and produced the characteristics of waves when you weren’t looking at it. In other words, if the observer or the one carrying out the experiment wasn’t looking at the electron, it would produce waves. They thus concluded that the electron is a wave. However, the moment you turned to look at it, it seemed to know you were looking, and before you could see it, it became a particle.
How could it produce such patterns and characteristics of waves? How could it be that intelligent? Now, here’s something very interesting: if it’s a wave, it’s got energy, and energy isn’t matter; so, it’s not a particle. If it’s a particle, then that means it’s not a wave. It’s one of both, but it turns out to be both.
This is one of the most mind-blowing experiments scientists have carried out, and for so many years, they’ve had no explanation for it. But it’s all in the Bible. It’s so simple. Think about it: When you’re not looking, it’s energy; when you turn to see it, it’s matter! And what does Hebrews 11:1 say? It says, “Now faith is the substance of things in hope,” meaning that while you’re not looking with your physical eyes, the thing is real inside your spirit; it is substance; it exists as the Word of God!
Since faith is the “substance” of hope, it means it has energy; it’s based on the Word of God. The Word of God is sound; God spoke, and creation came to be. The sound wave is where the energy is. So, if scientists want to understand this stuff, they need to get out of the New Age and get to the Bible; the Book explains it all. Hallelujah!

BEYOND ANY DOUBT (Faith: The Cogency Of Evidence)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Hebrews 11:1 AMPC “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].”
▶️ LET’S TALK
The definition of faith above simply means that faith is the cogency or conviction of evidence. You’re convinced that something you’ve hoped for is real, though it’s not visible in the physical realm. Faith is a substance; it’s the evidence of unseen realities.
Evidence is proof of something; it can be made available. If faith, therefore, is the evidence, it means there’s something it represents. It’s like when someone owns a property; the title deed to that property is his proof—the cogency of evidence that the property is his. When the right to the property is contested, he simply presents the evidence—the title deed. Likewise, if at any time the devil tries to question your right to your blessings, privileges, and inheritance in Christ, present your evidence, which is God’s Word.
Declare with confidence what the Word says concerning you. For example, you can present Romans 8:10-11 and 3 John 1:2 as your evidence for divine health: Romans 8:10- 11 says, “And if Christ is in you, (although) the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is (gives it) life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” 3 John 1:2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” In affirming these scriptures, you’re putting your evidence to work. Hallelujah!

THE TWO SONS (A Lesson In Obedience)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Philippians 2:8 NIV “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
▶️ LET’S TALK
In Luke 3:38, when you study the genealogy of Adam, he was called the son of God. So, if the first Adam was the son of God and the second Adam, Jesus Christ, is the Son of God, what’s the difference between the two sons of God?
The answer is in the parable that Jesus gave in Matthew 21:28-31 of two sons: Their father told the sons to go work in his vineyard. The first son assured his father that he’d go but he didn’t; he disobeyed. The second son told his father he wouldn’t go, but he went. Jesus then asked, “Which of the two sons obeyed his father?”
Clearly, the obedient one is the one who actually did his father’s will, though initially refusing to do so. Now, in the Garden of Gethsemane, in the final moments before Jesus was arrested to be crucified, He prayed earnestly, “...Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42).
Jesus didn’t want to do it, but He did anyway! So, our opening verse says of Jesus, “And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!” Jesus’ elevation came because He was obedient till death, but the failure of the first Adam was his disobedience.
The Bible says, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by one man’s obedience many will be made righteous” (Romans 5:19 RSV). Had the first Adam obeyed, the second Adam wouldn’t have been necessary. So, the difference between the first Adam and the second Adam was obedience.
Obedience is very important; it pays to listen to God and follow His ways. Being born again, we’re born in the nature of the second Adam, Jesus Christ, and we have His obedient Spirit. Hence, in 1 Peter 1:14, we’re called His obedient children. Walk therefore in this nature of Christ in you, and please the Father always.

A FRESH START! (God’s Word: The Material To Clean You Up)
👤 Pastor Chris
📖 TO THE BIBLE
Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
▶️ LET’S TALK
In today’s world, there’s no system or process that can help get rid of the wrong information that the human system has amassed over the course of mental and physical development. The storage is permanent. In the world, there are all kinds of people whose characters are the sum total or end result of all the negative information that has gone into them.
However, when you’re born again, the only material that has the capacity to erase all the wrong stuff from your mind and give you a fresh start is the Word of God. It’s the only material that cleanses the heart, purifies the soul, and renews the mind.
The Word has sanctifying power. Jesus said in John 15:3, “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” Acts 20:32 says, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
With the Word of God, you can reconstruct your life, you can frame your world, you can decide you want to fix something in any area of your life—whatever it is.
Always take time to meditate on the Word, and you’ll make apparent progress and experience good success in all your affairs. There’ll be an outburst of prosperity in every area of your life, to the praise and glory of God.
