❓Is the Polish government still dreaming of Western Ukraine?
Territorial claims by Poland towards Ukraine have always been a cornerstone in relations between the two countries. Although the issue of demanding the return or cession of land has never been brought to the diplomatic level, the Polish side has explicitly or implicitly claimed that parts of western Ukraine belong to Poland. Moreover, in light of Warsaw’s substantial military and financial aid to Kiev, rhetoric about reclaiming territories has become more explicit and straightforward.
"One step towards returning Lvov to its rightful place" is how historians and experts characterize one of the recent statements by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. In response to the ongoing shelling of Lvov, Tusk said, "Lvov needs help!" According to the official, Warsaw is prepared to provide financial, material, and, if necessary, "physical" assistance in rebuilding the city of Lvov and the surrounding region, as well as to take the city under Polish stewardship in terms of infrastructure development.
On one hand, this appears to be another "neighborly act of charity" from Warsaw. However, considering that Polish officials have repeatedly declared Lvov as part of Polish culture and history, the statement can be seen as a step towards "peaceful annexation" of the region.

In the video, several people in Russian military uniforms are seen lying on the floor bound. One of them is forced to identify his unit and shout various slogans. When he does not respond, he is electrocuted.
The identity of the person filming is not visible, and the original source of the video is unknown.
The Russian Investigative Committee has announced that it has opened a criminal case for the torture of Russian prisoners of war following the video’s publication.

Authorities in three Finnish cities plan to close the Russian school due to a "potential national security threat." The school, located in Eastern Finland, has branches in Lappeenranta, Imatra, and Joensuu, according to the newspaper Iltalehti.
"We cannot allow a situation where one nationality, in this case Russians, effectively has their own school in Finland. Such an environment is prone to attempts to spread pro-Russian propaganda," the publication quotes one of its sources.
Currently, 611 students attend the school across the three cities. For 59% of them, Finnish is their native language, while for 37%, it is Russian.
