Republican on powerful House committee says GOP has the votes to hold Garland in inherent contempt
South Carolina GOP Rep. Ralph Norman, who sits on the powerful House Rules Committee, said on Monday that he believes his party has enough votes to charge Attorney General Merrick Garland with inherent contempt of Congress.
Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna introduced inherent contempt articles against Garland last week, after the Justice Department announced it would not take action against the attorney general.
The contempt charges stem from Garland's refusal to comply with a Congressional subpoena to hand over audio recordings of President Joe Biden's interview with special counsel Robert Hur.

Florida prosecutors knew Epstein raped teenage girls 2 years before cutting deal, transcript shows
Florida prosecutors heard graphic testimony about how the late millionaire and financier Jeffrey Epstein sexually assaulted teenage girls two years before they cut a plea deal, according to transcripts released Monday of the 2006 grand jury investigation.
The transcripts were at the center of a court battle for about a decade after media investigations into Epstein’s ties to the rich and the powerful seems to have allowed him to continue to rape and sex traffic teenagers without ever being sent to prison or serving a serious jail term.
The judge’s release of the approximately 150 pages came as a surprise as he had scheduled a hearing for next week on when and how to release them. Gov. Ron DeSantis had signed a bill in February allowing the release on Monday or any time thereafter that Circuit Judge Luis Delgado ordered.

The Supreme Court on Monday is expected to issue its long-anticipated ruling on whether former President Donald Trump can claim immunity from prosecution for at least some of his actions in seeking to overturn the 2020 election.
Chief Justice John Roberts announced Friday that Monday would be the last day of rulings in the current nine-month court term, with the Trump case one of four yet to be decided.

Far-left Palestine agitators shut down Toronto Pride, police announce parade cancelled
The Toronto Pride Parade was shut down by Palestinian activists on Saturday who sat in the roadway on Yonge and Wellesley Streets. "Free, free Palestine, free, free, free Palestine," they chanted in a refrain that has become familiar in recent months.
The action prompted police to cancel the remainder of the parade entirely. "The remainder of the parade has been cancelled by @PrideToronto," the police said. "Officers are on the ground to facilitate the safe movement of people and vehicles/floats." A street fair and stages were still "operational."

Jill Biden is the driving force behind her husband’s reelection campaign, just as she was in 2020, when other members of the family (including Biden’s sister Val) considered him too impaired to run. Members of Joe Biden’s family privately trashed his top campaign advisers at Camp David this weekend, blaming them for the president’s flop in Thursday’s debate and urging Biden to fire or demote people in his political high command.
There is no immediate expectation that Biden will follow through on that advice, according to three people briefed on the family conversations but not directly involved. The three people were granted anonymity to discuss the matter.
Among the family’s complaints about the debate practice: that Biden was not prepared to pivot more to go on the attack; that he was bogged down too much on defending his record rather than outlining a vision for a second term; and that he was over-worked and not well-rested.
