Trump rally counter-sniper backs bombshell ‘evidence tampering’ claims by House GOPers
A SWAT counter-sniper who was working the Pennsylvania rally where former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated last month agreed with Republican lawmakers Monday that an “odd” pattern of evidence-handling had taken place following the deadly shooting.
Washington Regional SWAT counter-sniper Ben Shaffer said it was “absolutely” concerning that the roof of the AGR International building had been quickly scrubbed and gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks’ body disposed of before an official autopsy report could be released.
Five House Republicans — Reps. Andy Biggs and Eli Crane of Arizona, Matt Gaetz and Cory Mills of Florida, and Chip Roy of Texas — hosted the panel discussion with Shaffer and other witnesses at the conservative Heritage Foundation.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs has filed a motion to dismiss a $30m lawsuit filed by record producer Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones, who sued him for constant groping and a possible drug-induced rape.
Jones filed suit in February - just weeks before two of Combs' homes were raided by federal agents amid a sex trafficking probe.
Jones claimed he was ordered to recruit prostitutes and have sex with them for the star's pleasure, and has hundreds of hours of video documenting Combs's 'serious illegal activity'. Diddy has denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
At that time, the embattled hip-hop star was already facing lawsuits from three women and had lost a host of commercial deals in the wake of the claims.
Now Combs, 54, has fired back at Jones' second amended lawsuit in new court documents filed in Manhattan Federal Court Monday and obtained by DailyMail.com - accusing him of 'exploiting' the star for money.
The filing reads: 'Jones’ Second Amended Complaint is his third attempt to dress up a run of the mill commercial disagreement as a salacious RICO [Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act] conspiracy.

French authorities have arrested Telegram founder Pavel Durov as part of a larger investigation related to charges of "complicity" in illegal transactions and possessing and distributing pornographic images of minors, the Paris prosecutor's office said Monday.
That investigation began on July 8, focusing on a person who is still unnamed, the office said in a press release. It remains unclear if Durov will be charged. Police have the authority to hold him until Wednesday.
In broadcast channels, Telegram says that it will enforce rules against illegal content, but on its website, Telegram says it does not apply monitoring to any type of messaging between users.
Telegram has said the company has moderated child abuse content since the app was created, and routinely closes channels devoted to child sexual abuse material.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which works with tech platforms to remove explicit images of child abuse, told NBC News that Telegram has refused its outreach.

The judge overseeing the Arizona "fake elector" case that charged several Trump allies with alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in the state has set a trial date of Jan. 5, 2026.
At a hearing in Phoenix on Monday, Arizona Superior Court Judge Bruce Cohen heard several motions from the defendants' attorneys including some motions to dismiss the case.
Many of the defendants, including Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, appeared virtually.

Special counsel Jack Smith asked a federal appeals court Monday to reinstate the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump after it was dismissed by a judge last month.
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon threw out the case, one of four prosecutions of Trump, after concluding that Smith’s appointment as special counsel was unconstitutional.
Smith’s team then appealed to the Atlanta-based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, with prosecutors saying in their appeal brief that Cannon’s decision is “at odds with widespread and longstanding appointment practices in the Department of Justice and across the government.”
The appeal is the latest development in a prosecution that many legal experts consider a straightforward criminal case but has been derailed by delays, months of hearings before Cannon, a Trump-appointed judge, and ultimately a dismissal order that brought the proceedings to at least a temporary halt.

Such misconduct violated the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct, therefore President Trump again calls for dismissal and her removal."
On Dec. 5, the Georgia court will hear the appeal by Trump and his co-defendants to have embattled Willis disqualified from the case due to an alleged "improper" affair with former special prosecutor Nathan Wade.
