To have a trade surplus in the neighborhood of Australia or Indonesia’s GDP?
Also realize that this is an undercount, Chinese re- exports from Vietnam, Mexico, and broader Southeast Asia aren’t even being counted in this.
China is arguably the greatest industrial power to exist in human history, and what’s truly scary and awe inspiring is that it’s just getting started.

🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺 US president-elect Donald Trump intends to push Ukraine to lower its age of conscription in an effort to stabilise the country’s front lines ahead of direct negotiations with Russia.
Speaking to US network ABC News on Sunday, Mike Waltz, Trump’s national security pick, gave the clearest picture yet of the new administration’s plan to end the war.
Waltz said that its first steps would be to open dialogue with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin — to whom the US has not spoken directly since the war began — and to ask Kyiv to mobilise more men to stabilise Ukraine’s front lines ahead of negotiations.
Ukraine’s conscription age was lowered from 27 to 25 in April, but the average age of a Ukrainian soldier is 43. Lowering the age is politically unpopular and Ukraine has said it wants to protect its future generations.

"Zoomers are the first cohort to be fully immersed in the reality of generational downward mobility. While millenials will also earn less than their parents, they were formed under the expectations of America ascending to a kind of Post-History stasis where at worst their status and wealth was permanently locked in.
Zoomers have none of these illusions and rightfully reject the obsolete and facile narratives they’re expected to swallow and obey to make sense of their lives and ambitions. Those are dead narratives. They do not reflect reality at all. They do not reflect the deranged cultural and political circumstances they’re expected to navigate from a position of negative expected value for pretty much any career path outside of genius tech outlier.
Scolding them is a stupid and pointless exercise that will only drive them further into despair and resentment.
Yes. Don’t be resentful. Don’t give in to despair. Be resourceful and lay a claim on your own life. But it’s also going to require offering Zoomers much better and updated narratives and opportunities for how to accrue status and wealth and the basic conditions for living a dignified life for the average guy who is not an outlier tech genius.
There are short, medium, and long term fixes for this. Some straightforwardly political. Some more complex cultural questions. But the implicit promise of boomer America, even Gen X America, is no longer viable, and that broken promise has absolutely nothing to do with Zoomers themselves."

📎 What Is Going On With Shipping?
🇷🇴🗳⚡️ On the topic of the Romanian presidential elections, I want to remind the readers that: THE ELECTIONS HAVE NOT BEEN SCHEDULED!!
Yes, the coalition government proposed two sets of dates but the Romanian government hasn't passed an ordinance/an act that would actually schedule the elections per se.
As a matter of fact, PSD spokesman, Lucian Romașcanu's original idea of postponing the elections until all lawsuits started by Călin Georgescu's lawyers end with definitive court rulings is still very much a possibility.
As things stand today, the elections might not happen at all in May 2025 as the government said they will, they could happen in autumn, or in the winter, or in 2026 or even later than that.
There is absolutely zero interest and initiative for the current administration to organise new elections because they will lose them just like the previous ones and they will try to buy as much time as possible to improve their image hoping that people will forget about Georgescu and their failings.
The words that are coming out of the mouths of Marcel Ciolacu (him especially) and others in the government and close to him, are not to be trusted and interpreted very carefully.
This is how PSD has been operating for decades. They say something, then stop talking about it for a certain period of time and when they deem enough time has passed, end up doing the opposite or nothing at all. Don't be surprised when the government raises the income tax, the value added tax (VAT) and implements a Western European progressive style of taxation, even though Ciolacu has given hundreds of assurances that he will not do it. He will and he won't have a bit of remorse for lying in everyone's faces.

TSMC's Arizona Fab 21 is already making 4nm chips — yield and quality reportedly on par with Taiwan fabs
TSMC has started producing chips at its Fab 21 near Phoenix, Arizona, using its 4nm-class process technology, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told Reuters. This marks the first time such a cutting-edge production node has been manufactured in the United States. The confirmation from a high-ranking official comes months after the first unofficial information emerged that the fab was mass-producing chips for Apple.
"For the first time ever in our country's history, we are making leading-edge 4nm chips on American soil, American workers — on par in yield and quality with Taiwan," Raimondo told Reuters.
TSMC's Fab 21 in Arizona is manufacturing at least three processor models: the A16 Bionic system-on-chip used in Apple's iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus; the main processor of Apple's S9 system-in-package for smartwatches, which has two 64-bit cores and a quad-core neural engine; and an AMD Ryzen 9000-series CPU.

"As one watches the videos of contractor owned and operated aircraft please realize the stark contrast in competence between teams that modify and maintain aircraft up to 60 years old flying in combat like conditions verses government bureaucrats that fail to maintain the basics of full reservoirs and fire hydrant maintenance.
Just sourcing parts for old aircraft is extremely hard let alone keeping them flying when the fight is on. Flying a heavy commercial aircraft at max gross weight in close proximity to mountains, smoke and swirling winds is extremely dangerous yet they make it look easy. Thank a contractor today!
It's a pity the Democrat party destroyed my old business Blackwater. We were going to pivot the team of thousands and 73 aircraft fleet to private fire fighting service. Might have been useful about now... "
