🇫🇷 French president, Emmanuel Macron, slams EU countries for not buying European and giving contracts to American and South Korean defense companies!

However, Macron has an ulterior motive: France has had a budget deficit of between 6-7% constantly for the past 5 years and it is struggling to cut state spending and at the same time, increase taxes enough as to not cause civil unrest or another motion of no-confidence which would topple Macron's fragile coalition and the Bayrou cabinet.

The French PM, François Bayrou, is hoping to end the year with a 5.4% deficit and that by 2029, France will have a budget deficit of under 3% as per EU regulations.

Buying from French defense companies would bring much needed funds to Macron's administration. Instead of deporting the millions of third world migrants France houses and gives welfare to, Emmanuel Macron would rather extract wealth from other European countries than fix the financial black holes of his country.

🇯🇵🇺🇸 Japan plans US$6.9 billion shipyard push

Japan is drawing up plans to build and upgrade shipyards that could support the repair of US Navy vessels, in a strategic move seen as both an economic security measure and a bargaining chip in fraught trade and defense burden-sharing talks with US President Donald Trump’s administration.

The proposal, expected to be finalized in the autumn, includes a government-backed “national dockyard” initiative under which Tokyo would finance the restoration or construction of facilities before handing them over to the private sector to operate.

Once a world leader in shipbuilding, Japan has in recent years produced far fewer vessels than China and South Korea, raising fears about security in an island nation that relies heavily on imports by sea.

🇷🇴⚖️⚡️ Călin Georgescu has been officially indicted on "promoting the personality cults of war criminals" and "publicly promoting fascist ideals" by the Prosecutor's Office.

His trial is set to begin in the coming days.

📝: So this means they've dropped the whole "usurping the constitutional order" and "creating a fascist organisation" charges?

Only two of the six original charges stuck meaning they couldn't make a compelling case in front of a judge about "usurping the constitutional order" or "constituting a fascist organisation". The only thing they have some evidence is Georgescu allegedly and "deliberately/knowingly" quoting some fascist historical figures.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 The Pentagon has halted shipments of some air defense missiles and other precision munitions to Ukraine due to worries that U.S. weapons stockpiles have fallen too low.

The decision was driven by the Pentagon’s policy chief, Elbridge Colby, and was made after a review of Pentagon munitions stockpiles, leading to concerns that the total number of artillery rounds, air defense missiles and precision munitions was sinking, according to three people familiar with the issue.

Colby halted shipments of artillery rounds, interceptors and precision munitions to Ukraine, the absence of which will soon be felt at the rate Russia launches drones upon Ukrainian cities.

📝: When Israel burns through 20% of the THAAD interceptor stockpile, the Pentagon keeps the delivery of weapons uninterrupted. In fact, they are floating the idea of bombing the Houthis in Yemen again because they keep throwing missiles at Israel.

🇺🇸 The US Dollar index fell -10.8% in the first half of 2025, its worst first-half performance since the end of the gold-backed Bretton Woods System in 1973.

This also marks the weakest performance for any six-month period since 2009.

Furthermore, the Bloomberg Dollar Spot Index has posted its 6th consecutive monthly decline, matching its longest losing streak in 8 years.

The US Dollar is down -14.4% against the Swiss franc, -13.4% against the Euro, -10.5% against the Japanese Yen, and -9.6% against the Pound.

This comes as investors react to tariffs, the US deficit spending crisis, and pressure on the Fed to cut rates.

The US Dollar is nearing bear market territory.

🇺🇸🤝🇮🇱 Trump could arm Israel with US B-2s and bunker busters if Iran tries to go nuclear under new proposal

A bipartisan pair of lawmakers has proposed authorizing President Donald Trump to transfer B-2 stealth bombers and 30,000-pound "bunker buster" bombs to Israel if Iran is found to still be developing a nuclear weapon after last week’s strikes.

Proposed by Reps. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J., and Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., the Bunker Buster Act would allow Trump to "take actions to ensure Israel is prepared for all contingencies if Iran seeks to develop a nuclear weapon."

As of 2024, the U.S. had 19 B-2s in operation. It does not transfer custody of its B-2 stealth bombers to any of its allies.

"Iran, the leading state sponsor of terror, and one of America’s top enemies, can never have a nuclear weapon. That’s why I strongly supported our military actions earlier this month. Iran has killed scores of Americans, including our service members, and repeatedly attacked our key democratic ally, Israel. Israel must be able to defend herself against Iran, and ensure that Iran cannot rebuild its nuclear capabilities," Gottheimer said in a statement.

"This bill gives the President the authority to equip Israel with the tools and training they need to deter Tehran and make the world a safer place," said Lawler

🇷🇺🇺🇦 In June 2024, six residents of Kyiv were injured as a result of Russian attacks. A year later, in June 2025, the number of people killed by RU drones and missiles exceeded 40, with more than 200 injured. Why have Russian strikes on Kyiv become more deadly? Here are some stats:

In June 2024, the Russian army launched 332 Shahed/Geran drones and 124 missiles at Ukraine. 314 drones (95%) and 84 missiles (74%) were shot down or jammed by Ukrainian air defence systems.

At that time, Russian attacks were not yet daily occurrences, and the total number of missiles and drones used in attacks rarely exceeded one hundred at a time.

The only incident in June 2024 in which a missile caused significant damage to Kyiv occurred on 30 June: debris from a downed (and probably the only one launched) Iskander-K missile fell on a high-rise building in the Obolonskiy district of Kyiv. Six civilians were injured.

In June 2025, I counted 10 reports of strikes on Kyiv. During each attack, when explosions were reported in Kyiv, Russia launched at least 315 different UAVs (including Gerbera decoy drones) and missiles.

The deadliest strike took place on 17 June, when Russia launched 440 drones and 32 missiles at Ukraine. Explosions occurred in several areas of Kyiv at once, with several missiles and drones hitting residential buildings.

The number of drones released in June 2025 increased 16 times compared to June 2024, if we include decoy drones, which were not yet in use a year ago: 5,438 UAVs of various types were used last month, compared to 332 in June 2024.

The use of missiles has also nearly doubled: 235 compared to 124. In addition, the average number of drones and missiles used in Russian attacks has increased significantly.

If in 2024 the average number of drones produced by Russia each day (total number divided by 30 days) was 11, and missiles – 4, then in June 2025 the average number of drones was 181, and missiles – about 8.

The percentage of drones shot down or jammed decreased by 16 points compared to June 2024, from 95% to 79%. The percentage of missiles shot down decreased from 74% to 50%.

At the same time, the effectiveness of shooting down drones and unmanned aerial vehicles during massive Russian air strikes remains relatively high: 91.5% for drones and 79.5% for missiles.

Despite Ukraine's wide range of anti-drone weapons, large-calibre ДШК (DShK) and Browning machine guns remain among the most widely used, with a maximum firing range of only about 2,500 metres.

As Vladimir Zelensky stated, the US has decided to send 20,000 APKWS missiles to the region, which were originally intended to intercept drones in the skies over Ukraine. According to updated information, it is not the missiles themselves that are being sent, but their fuzes. Those missiles were redirected from Ukraine to Israel.

🇺🇸 BlackRock pivots away from the US to India and Japan

BlackRock Inc., the world’s biggest asset manager, is seeing rising interest from its global clients in diversifying away from the US and into other markets.

More than 20% of the firm’s clients said in a recent survey that they were looking at trimming their exposure to US markets and the dollar.

While the US will remain a core part of BlackRock’s global portfolio, it is advising an incremental capital outlay for diversification by region, sector and asset classes, said Wu.

US equities exchange-traded funds listed in Asia Pacific saw net selling in June for the first time since May 2023, while Asian equity ETFs got inflows over the last three months, with $19 billion coming into China, Wu said.

European equity ETFs have seen inflows rising eight times to $60 billion this year, putting them on track for the largest annual inflow since 2015, she added.

The asset manager’s unit BlackRock Investment Institute remains positive on Japan and India, and neutral on China, Europe and the UK.

🇪🇺🤝🇮🇱 Europe slams Israel, then buys its weapons

Governments are navigating a fine line, condemning Israel in public while embracing its capabilities in private.

Across European capitals, a familiar duality is taking shape. In official statements and international forums, EU governments harshly criticize Israel’s conduct in Gaza, invoking humanitarian concerns and calling for restraint.

Yet, within security establishments and strategic circles, these same governments quietly seek out Israel’s battle-proven expertise and defense cooperation.

This paradox is more than political optics. It reflects a deeper tension between public posturing and strategic necessity. As global threats rise and European security structures face increasing strain, especially along NATO’s eastern flank, many capitals have come to depend on the capabilities developed by Israel, not through theory or simulation, but through sustained operational experience.

Much of Europe’s defense engagement with Israel remains discreet. At defense expos, Israeli firms may be present but not prominently featured. Strategic dialogues unfold quietly. Procurement decisions are pursued with minimal publicity. It is a calculated posture: benefit from Israeli know-how, while minimizing public association amid political sensitivities.

This contradiction has sharpened in recent months. The war in Gaza has inflamed European public opinion, prompting calls for sanctions and reevaluation of bilateral ties. Still, behind the scenes, defense cooperation continues. Governments are navigating a fine line, condemning Israel in public while embracing its capabilities in private.

Except for a few high-profile deals, including Germany’s acquisition of the Arrow missile defense system, most transactions with Israel’s defense industry remain under the radar. This discrepancy, between private reliance and public hesitation, creates a contradiction that undermines Europe’s strategic coherence and weakens mutual trust.
