Side note: as I recently commented in some post above, these types of prediction markets are very well known and widely used, with substantial volumes of several tens of millions of dollars.

Like it or not, they exist and provide a sufficiently truthful snapshot to be taken irrefutably as relevant data on the topic and what people who bet on think about it.
