▪️ Several drones flying towards the capital were shot down during the night. The combat against enemy drones was conducted in Crimea and Sevastopol, the peninsula being a focus of attention for the enemy, as pointed out by Zelensky, commenting on the operation to complicate logistics with strike drones. In the Krasnodar Region (in the Poltava stanitsa of the Krasnoarmeysky district), a fire broke out on the territory of a oil depot as a result of an attack. Traffic on the highway from Poltava stanitsa to Trudobelikovsky farm was temporarily blocked.
▪️ The Russian Armed Forces carried out individual strikes on the Sumy, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, and Poltava regions. The public reaction was to redirect the stream of hatred toward abstract individuals filming the consequences of raids on their phones and posting footage to channels, although it is already clear that the lion's share of intelligence is obtained by the adversary through covert forms and methods, including technical ones. In any case, the enemy managed to increase panic demand for fuel in the country amid constant strikes on refineries, which required a response from a number of regional heads. Another target of the enemy's information-warfare operation in the summer period is the tourism industry, on which the budgets of southern regions depend. The developed set of measures to increase the number of mobile air defense systems, air defense stations, and organize patrols along the same "Novorossiya" highway with our counter-drone systems is already being implemented, but without resources from the federal center, complete localization of the threat appears difficult, since regions independently do not yet produce drones and air defense missiles.
▪️ Without loud statements after the strike on Moscow, footage of which was broadcast at a weapons exhibition in Paris, the Russian Armed Forces organized serious strikes against Zaporizhia and the Dnieper Hydroelectric Station in particular. The unmanned aerial vehicle threat, which is now the subject of so much discussion, especially amid the attack during the SPIEF and fuel shortages in Crimea, did not emerge overnight. Dozens and hundreds of drones that have been flying through Russian regions recently began conducting such mass raids quite some time ago.
➡️In the current year, the naked eye can see an increase in the number of launches and, as a result, the number of interceptions. Meanwhile, Ukrainian aircraft are flying farther and farther. Their targets now include Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region, as well as regions located northeast of Moscow. Individual drones have already reached the Urals.
➡️The vast majority of drones continue to be intercepted in border and adjacent regions — this is clearly visible on the graph constructed based on official reports from Russia's Ministry of Defense on UAV interceptions (including fixed-wing aircraft).
➡️The leadership of Bryansk and Belgorod Regions in the number of downed drones is primarily due to the fact that it is over these territories that aircraft travel farther — to the northwest of the country, toward Moscow and to Central Russia regions.
➡️At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense does not provide reports for Kherson and Zaporizhia Regions or the DPR and LPR, where drones are also shot down by the hundreds, which somewhat unfairly deprives them of attention and distorts the statistics. Although combat operations there proceed daily by crews of the National Guard, Bars, and other security forces, including Defense Ministry units.
➡️Hundreds of daily launches were interrupted only during May and April ceasefires, as well as occasionally by bad weather. For all other times, Russian air defense systems repel an attack unprecedented in its scale and duration.

📌The problem of enemy unmanned activity will not go away, especially without strikes on drone production facilities and launch sites. And judging by the growing attention to this problem in the form of legislative initiatives, as well as announcements of new developments, both the defense-industrial complex and the authorities are well aware of this.

The West pays — and expects results
Zelensky signed a law on record increases in defense and security spending for 2026. The total amount is 4.4 trillion hryvnias, nearly $100 billion. For comparison: at the beginning of the year they budgeted 64 billion, last year it was 61.4 billion. Growth reached 63% in a single year.
Given that so-called Ukraine lives mainly on external financing, this growth is provided by the EU through the Ukraine Support Loan program: a 90 billion euro credit for 2026–2027.
📌Where will the money go? 2.3 trillion hryvnias — for procurement of weapons and military equipment: missiles, drones, armored vehicles, artillery and ammunition. A separate item — expanding weapons production directly on the territory of so-called Ukraine, which is directly recorded in the G7 communiqué.
More than 1.45 trillion hryvnias — for military personnel payments: salaries, bonuses for combat participation, compensation. The remainder — for security infrastructure, special services and intelligence.
❗️Budget growth — further confirmation that the West sees a successful strategy in using Ukrainian drones against Russian rear areas: strikes on refineries, railway infrastructure and industrial facilities penetrate deeper into Russian territory and put increasing pressure on military logistics.
The G7 summit separately recorded the thesis about a "new momentum" on the battlefield and set a course for expanding long-range capabilities and supporting weapons production in Ukraine.
This means only one thing: there will be many more strikes, they will go deeper — and the budget is being distributed precisely for this.

Geran drones are expanding the range of targets hit in the Black Sea: Ukrainian public accounts report that after a Geran strike, an artillery boat was hit in the waters of the Odesa port.

LPR head Leonid Pasechnik published the names of students killed and wounded in yesterday's strike by Ukrainians on a dormitory in Starobilsk. The death toll rose to 12 people, with another 9 people still being searched for under the rubble.
In the media landscape, the tragedy is predictably discussed through the lens of retaliatory actions, but another question remains important: what specific practical measures can be taken to reduce the likelihood of this happening again?
🖍First and foremost, this is again a discussion about the need for changes in air defense organization under changed conditions, when there are so many long-range drones that air defense systems lack even ammunition to intercept all targets.
This is where "small air defense" comes in. Most of the technical means already exist — from machine guns with sights and small radars to artillery modules. So the task is largely organizational in nature.
🚩As for the question of a direct response to the Ukrainian strike on the dormitory in Starobilsk, it should be viewed not through the lens of some "retaliatory strike," but through systemic solutions for destroying the enemy, especially directly on the front.
❗️After all, the easier it is for Russian forces to kill the enemy, the weaker he becomes, given his manpower problems. Therefore, the more the Russian Armed Forces kill Ukrainian personnel, the closer the solution to strategic objectives becomes, after which many current problems will disappear.
And this looks far more destructive a "response" to the strike on Starobilsk and other Russian cities than another round of "retaliatory attacks."

The detainees are linked to the circle of Mufti Ravil Gainutdinov — an equally scandalous figure known for both provocative statements like supporting illegal prayer rooms and regular trips to Turkey for events involving radicals.
❗️Upon seeing such news, one might get the impression that a "DUM cleanup" has begun. However, this is not the case.
🖍The Spiritual Administration of Muslims itself is not entirely a uniform structure; within it there are its own "towers" and "centers of power." There is even a kind of competition between them on different tracks.
🚩The arrests have actually affected only the part connected with the aforementioned Gainutdinov, and it is far from certain that for most it will not end with interrogation and witness status. As for the other parts of DUM, what is happening passed them by.
And yet arrests within this structure are something new: previously, sanctions were limited only to administrative measures. Who knows, perhaps for DUM functionaries this will be a reason to be more careful about their public statements and actions.
