Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the Navy to strike the name of pioneering gay rights activist Harvey Milk from one of its ships, orchestrating the change as Pride month celebrations take place.
A defense official said the timing of the decision was intentional.

More than 200 people who took California's bar exam in February will have their scores changed from "fail" to "pass" after a California Bar committee approved new scoring adjustments.
The grading change affected 230 test takers in the State Bar of California's latest attempt to mitigate the fallout of its disastrous February test, which was plagued with technical and logistical problems. That exam prompted several lawsuits, including at least two filed by test takers and one filed by the state bar against the company that administered the exam.
With the changes approved on Friday, the exam's overall pass rate jumped from 56% to 63%, nearly double the state's historical average of 35%.

President Donald Trumpβs law and order agenda is to thank for the murder rate dropping by 20% this year so far, the White House said Tuesday.
Crime data analyst Jeff Asher reviewed the most homicide-prone cities nationwide and found a more than 20% decrease from 2024.
As of early May, murders were down 31.6% in Baltimore, 34.5% in St. Louis, 36.8% in Cleveland, 63% in Denver, 30.6% in New Orleans, 26.8% in New York, and 23.7% in Chicago, according to Asher.

π₯The Department of Health and Human Services announced it is shuttering a nationwide program that offered free COVID-19 tests to community organizations, citing it bled taxpayer funds despite the pandemic's end.
The government had spent more than $1 billion on the program since it was established in 2021 under the Biden administration, Fox News Digital learned.
The program deployed government-purchased COVID-19 tests to community partners across the country to deliver tests at no cost to the patient. HHS cited that testing for COVID-19 now mimics seasonal flu cases, with retail shops across the country stocking their shelves with COVID tests, meaning "continued federal distribution is a significant waste of taxpayersβ dollars."
Americans who ordered tests through community partnership by 5 p.m. May 30 will still receive their order, according to HHS.
HHS is in the midst of purchasing one million newer tests that are able to differentiate between the COVID-19 virus versus the flu, which will be deployed if there are any shortfalls or emergencies with the COVID testing, Fox Digital learned.

Former Acting US Secret Service Director Ron Rowe has finally resigned from the agency.
Earlier this year President Trump announced Sean Curran, one of the agents who surrounded him following the Butler assassination attempt, as the new Secret Service Director.
Ron Rowe who served as the acting Secret Service Director after Kim Cheatle resigned last summer remained on payroll as a βsenior advisorβ for several months.
Rowe is a typical Washington bureaucrat who led the bureau before the second assassination attempt on Trumpβs life during the 2024 Campaign.
Director Rowe also was caught in a blatant lie after President Trump was shot in the ear in Butler, Pennsylvania. Rowe said at the time that all assets were approved for the Trump Butler rally. Later a whistleblower stepped forward and revealed that Rowe was personally responsible for cutting assets from President Trumpβs Secret Service detail before the first assassination attempt.
Ron Rowe is finally out.

The U.S. is cleaning up its mess in Syria by shrinking from 8 military bases to just 1.
President Trumpβs new envoy, Thomas Barrack:
"The United States will scale down its military presence in Syria to one base from 8 and U.S. policies will shift in the country because none of them worked over the last century."
There are 2,000 American troops in Syria now, mostly in the northeast, working with local fighters to keep ISIS from popping back up.
Barrack says the U.S. has already started pulling troops and equipment out of Deir el-Zor and packing them into Hasakah, about 180 miles away from Aleppo.
Barrack also said the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces are still the U.S.βs friends.
They have been fighting ISIS for years, but Turkeyβs president says they have been slow to join Syriaβs new government under President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

BREAKINGπ¨: Russia's Kerch Bridge to Crimea was left in a 'state of disrepair' on Tuesday after Ukraine's SBU security service hit the linkΒ to the annexed peninsula with underwater explosives.
The SBU said in a statement on the Telegram app that it had used 1100 kilograms of explosives which were detonated early in the morning, damaging underwater pillars of the 12-mile-long bridge, a key supply route for Russian forces in Ukraine.Β
Footage online shows smoke billowing over bridge following the blast.
Head of the SBU, Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, said: 'We previously hit the Crimean Bridge twice in 2022 and 2023.Β
'So today we continued this tradition underwater. No illegal Russian facilities have a place on the territory of our state.Β
'Therefore, the Crimean Bridge is a completely legitimate target, especially considering that the enemy used it as a logistical artery to supply its troops.
Crimea is Ukraine, and any manifestations of occupation will receive our tough response,' Vasyl Malyuk noted.Β
Russian forces temporarily closed the bridge this morning, according toΒ Ukrainian news outlet Ukrainska Pravda.

A Romanian national pleaded guilty on Monday to charges related to his role in a βswattingβ ring that targeted dozens of public officials, including a former US president.Β
Going by the aliases βPlank,β βJonahβ and βCypher,β 26-year-old Thomasz Szabo took part in a years-long conspiracy to place bogus 911 calls, claiming emergencies were taking place at the homes of top government officials, and make bomb threats against government buildings and houses of worship, according to Justice Department.Β
Szabo and a co-conspirator, 21-year-old Serbian national Nemanja Radovanovic, allegedly targeted about 100 people, including members of Congress, governors, cabinet-level executive branch officials and state officials.
One of their alleged victims is identified as a βformer elected official from the executive branchβ who was swatted on Jan. 9. 2024, when Radovanovic falsely reported a murder at the home of the former president or vice president β who is not named in the indictment βΒ and threatened to blow up the personβs residence.Β Several of the victims were selected by Szabo, who directed Radovanovic to place the emergency calls targeting both Republicans and Democrats, according to the indictment.Β
