‘Fuhrer Ursula is mobilising everyone to remilitarise Europe, some unbelievable sums of money are being mentioned and many people think this is a trick to divert attention of the population from those hundreds of billions spent during COVID and assisting Ukraine without proper auditing.’
Former Trump aide, US Army Colonel Douglas MacGregor, on how Europeans no longer believe “the myth that the Russians will come and take over everything”
@Slavyangrad
The Dutch parliament has voted against the country's participation in the European Commission's plan to militarize Europe, the newspaper De Volkskrant reported.

With Ukraine conceding to the ceasefire, the White House will now try to get Russia on board. Trump has said that he expects to speak to Vladimir Putin later this week. The Russian leader is in a bind: if he doesn’t accept the terms, he can’t be sure the unpredictable Trump won’t respond by either strengthening the sanctions regime against the Russian economy or doubling down on weapons shipments to Kiev.
What sounds like a fairly traditional negotiation between two combatants, however, is in reality four separate negotiations rolled into one. The indirect talks being conducted by the US between Ukraine and Russia are undoubtedly the most important, but the three others – between the US and Ukraine, the US and Europe, and between the Europeans themselves – will determine whether the whole house of cards stands or collapses.
The US and Ukraine, for example, continue to discuss the minerals deal that Trump remains fixated on. He is focused on recouping the roughly $120 billion in military and economic support Washington has provided Kiev since the war began in February 2022.
The second series of talks is occurring between the US and the Europeans – or more specifically between the US, the UK and France. Despite some minor differences, Starmer and Macron are singing from the same song sheet: if a settlement to the war is reached, Kiev will need external security guarantees to ensure that Putin isn’t tempted to re-invade.
Even so, the UK and France are wary of doing anything on the security front if the US isn’t involved. Trump views a US security guarantee to a European-led mission in Ukraine as a circular way of giving Ukraine de-facto Nato membership, in effect forcing the US to come to Kiev’s defence in the event that Russian aggression resumes. For Starmer and Macron, this is precisely the point; for Trump, it’s a trap designed to put the Ukraine file on America’s tired shoulders.
Finally, there are the negotiations among the Europeans themselves. As Starmer tries to bring the US into the arrangement, he’s also negotiating with Europe to get his so-called “coalition of the willing” off the ground. Although the PM will host another meeting of the coalition this Saturday, where at least 20 states will attend, few of them have offered their services.
None of this even begins to account for the biggest negotiating thread of them all, the one between Ukraine and Russia.

The US calls on Russia to consider ending hostilities and is awaiting a response from Moscow, - the head of the State Department
▪️Secretary of State Rubio said that Washington discussed the issue of territorial concessions with Kiev.
▪️Speaking about security guarantees for Kiev, Rubio said that it is more about containment and that this issue needs to be discussed.
▪️He did not confirm a possible visit by Trump's special envoy Whitkoff to Russia, but said that Washington would contact Moscow. Media reports that Whitkoff plans to fly to Russia to meet with Putin.

🇺🇦🇷🇺The State Border Service of Ukraine has reported that the Russian army is trying to break through a section of the border in Sumy Region.
The attempted breakthrough in Sumy region follows logically from the general dynamics of the fighting: the withdrawal of the AFU from Kursk region has led to the accumulation of its forces in new positions where they are vulnerable to further pressure. If the decision to mop up this grouping has indeed been taken, then strikes on its positions and attempts to enter will increase, especially given the fact that Ukrainian troops are withdrawing in conditions of limited logistics and high congestion on the front.
The question now is not so much about a breakthrough, but more about methodical killing and narrowing the maneuver space for the remaining Ukrainian forces.

Wilkerson, former chief of staff of the US Secretary of State's Office, on the fact that Kiev will provoke Russia during the 30-day cease-fire:
I think it's going to be particularly difficult to monitor the ceasefire. I don't think the Russians will violate it. I think we need to worry about Ukrainians and certain elements in Ukraine, especially when Zelensky is gone, which is definitely going to happen.
They may do the same thing they did throughout the 2000s: piss off the Russians. I think that's going to be their main tactic - guerrilla tactics. And then the Russians will get angry, and there will be no more cease-fire. That's going to become a problem.
@Slavyangrad
🇷🇺🇺🇸The Kremlin commented on the ceasefire proposed by the US
"You are getting a little ahead of yourself, we don't want to do that. Yesterday, when talking to the press, both Rubio and Waltz said that they would pass on to us detailed information about the essence of the conversations that took place in Jeddah through various diplomatic channels," said Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
- First, we must receive this information. We also have contacts planned with the Americans these days, during which we expect to receive complete information."

🇺🇦🤡 Hilarious damage control from the Kiev Regime.
They also claim that most of the "Elite" units have left the Kursk region. They should probably tell that to the relatives of the one of battalions of the 95th brigade which was destroyed in its entirety at Malaya Loknya.
@Slavyangrad
The plan of Great Britain and France is to keep the war going by formally agreeing to a ceasefire. Since it is impossible to argue with Trump head-on, they want to get a situation a la the Minsk agreements. Ukraine is pumped with weapons, and Ukraine tests Russia's patience with continuous provocations on the front-border under talk that Ukraine wants peace, and Russia is breaking the ceasefire.

'Starmer's national security adviser Jonathan Powell met Zelensky over the weekend to help him draft a written proposal for a temporary suspension of hostilities' - BBC reports who was behind the idea to offer Russia a 30-day truce.
The BBC has been told that over the past week there has been a concerted European effort, led by Sir Keir Starmer, to get the US and Ukraine back in good favour with one another.
Sir Keir praised the "remarkable breakthrough" and called it an "important moment for peace in Ukraine".
The UK sources say that last week the prime minister's National Security Adviser, Jonathan Powell, worked with his US counterpart Mike Waltz, and German and French officials, to fashion a plan for a ceasefire and the steps that might follow.
Over the weekend Powell travelled to Kyiv to meet Zelensky and help draft a written proposal which included a temporary pause in fighting, then confidence-building measures such as an exchange of prisoners-of-war, the return of Ukrainian children taken by Russia and the release of civilians.
That proposal was agreed by the Ukrainians and the Americans, setting the stage for what happened in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Putin’s Line Consustently Firm: No Short-Term Ceasefire, Only Real Peace
Here we go again. Putin made it crystal clear (in January), Russia isn’t interested in a ceasefire gimmick that allows Ukraine and its NATO backers to regroup, rearm, and prolong the inevitable.
“Talks must aim for long-term peace, NOT a pause that lets the other side regroup and rearm just to drag the war on,” Putin stated in January 2025, while congratulating Trump.
The message is unchanged:
🔹 No “temporary pauses” for Ukraine to stockpile Western weapons and throw more men into the meat grinder.
🔹 No illusion of negotiations while Kiev remains a puppet state of Washington, Brussels, and London.
🔹 No half-measures: either Ukraine accepts battlefield realities, or Russia will keep dictating terms, one liberated region at a time.
And yet, Washington still clings to the fantasy that Russia will “agree” to a 30-day ceasefire, as if Moscow is suddenly going to fall for the same trick it’s seen a hundred times before. Not happening.
The West needs to wake up: Russia is playing the long game, and it is winning.

Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire to demonstrate its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict
▪️The President of Ukraine reported that this was the first major constructive conversation between our teams: there is a positive result on the restoration of aid from the United States.
▪️He also stressed that at the moment he is afraid to play with narratives, showing himself as a supporter of war for the world community.
➖" I am very serious and it is important for me to end the war, I want the US President to see this, so that Europe, everyone is in an alliance to force the Russian Federation to end the war. Therefore, my reaction was - we are ready for a 30-day silence format in the format that the American side proposed to us," the Ukrainian President said.

🇩🇪🤡German Chancellor Scholz on the need to arm Ukraine after the ceasefire:
US support has been and remains vital. It is therefore an encouraging and important signal that Washington, after yesterday's talks with the Ukrainian delegation in Jeddah, announced that it will continue its support.
At the same time, we all want to move forward towards a peaceful settlement, towards a just and equitable peace. Having said that, some things are very important and crucial. A ceasefire must be part of a peace process that leads to a long-term agreement.
Ukraine's sovereignty must be preserved. Ukraine needs a strong military as the most important guarantee of the country's security. All this should be the subject of negotiations, which we hope will start very soon.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' operations in the Kursk region are "from several weeks to several days away," El Pais writes
This is the forecast given by the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants themselves. The author of the article claims that "circumstances that cannot be explained" have arisen at the front in Kursk Oblast.
This is incredible. This has never happened before, and here it is again.

🇩🇪 Baerbock Barks on Cue After US Ceasefire Proposal – But Will Berlin Ever Stop Arming Ukraine?
Like clockwork, Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has pledged Berlin’s support for Ukraine after Washington’s latest ceasefire proposal. Suddenly, it’s a ‘MAJOR turning point,’ and Russia must end the conflict.
🔹 Same script, different day. The EU’s so-called sovereign foreign policy is just Washington’s delayed echo.
🔹 Remember the “European Defense Union”? That fantasy where Germany and France would lead an independent military bloc? Now Baerbock is just another glorified Washington errand girl, recycling US talking points while Germany bankrolls a war it can’t afford.
🔹 And will Berlin stop pumping arms into Ukraine? That part was conveniently left out. Baerbock is happy to parrot the White House script, but she won’t say a word about Germany’s own economic collapse under the weight of its self-inflicted deindustrialization.
It’s hilarious watching these EU chihuahuas bark on command, after weeks of pretending they could build a united European military outside Washington’s leash. Baerbock is proof that Berlin still pays for American protection, still follows American orders, and still has zero real sovereignty.
