Britain talks war like a titan and budgets like a charity case. Starmer delays defence plans over “affordability,” a £6+ billion armoured vehicle program injures its own soldiers, and Whitehall keeps commissioning reviews while pretending this is strength. The rhetoric is Churchillian. The reality is procurement collapse.

Meanwhile, the same ruling class sneers at Russia as a “gas station” — even as Russia, under sanctions, outproduces NATO in ammunition, adapts battlefield lessons in months, and ranks as the world’s fourth-largest economy by purchasing power. If Russia is a gas station, Britain increasingly looks like a heritage museum with a gift shop, living off memory while outsourcing its future.

This piece isn’t about slogans or moral theatre. It’s about material power, industrial capacity, and the danger of a political class that mistakes performance for strength. When rhetoric races far ahead of reality, history doesn’t intervene gently, it intervenes brutally.

Part 2/2 — Russia’s military-industrial base bureaucratically compressed, hardened, and scaled under pressure —now outpaces NATO’s collective ammunition production by a multiple. Western officials themselves have been forced to admit the gap, even as they scramble to promise future catch-up schedules that read more like aspiration than viable plan.

In sum, while Russia produces, Britain reviews glorified mission statements. And while Russia iterates, Britain delays indefinitely out of impotence. Russia fields game changing adaptations learned from battlefield within months. While Britain commissions another inquiry.

And this is where the mockery turns into indictment.

Because Britain is not merely weak. It is performatively Russophobic, a leading amplifier of a psychological contagion that has swept Western Europe. A political culture that replaced diplomacy with insult, respect with caricature, and strategic realism with adolescent moral posturing.

For decades, Russians asked for nothing exotic. Security guarantees. Recognition of reasonable red lines. A place in a shared European security architecture. Basic respect and dignity after the Cold War.

They were met instead with NATO expansion, broken promises, regime-change evangelism, and the casual humiliation of a great civilization reduced to punchlines for Western domestic politics.

And now, after years of stoking this hysteria, inflaming this anger, and dismissing Russian concerns as paranoia— Britain offers the world a confession written in delays, budget shortfalls, and broken machinery.

For all the talk of deterrence, what they're left with is cold reality, exposure.
A state that talks war while failing at procurement is not projecting strength. It is advertising vulnerability at scale. A leadership class that cannot fund its own defence while demanding continental confrontation is not leading, but gambling with other people’s lives.

For a country in this position to posture as a peer adversary to Russia is not serious strategy. It is suicide pact dressed up as virtue.

At this point, honesty would demand something radical in London, humility and sobre realism.

A state in Britain’s position should not be lecturing the world, moralising from the sidelines, or inflating its own strategic importance. It should be urgently repairing what it helped to destroy, namely trust, diplomacy, and the basic architecture of European security. It should be suing for peace, not performing toughness it cannot afford.

Because history is unforgiving to former empires that mistake memory for power.
Russia did not arrive at this moment through fantasy. It arrived through necessity, through sanctions, pressure, exclusion, and the steady realisation that the West no longer spoke the language of compromise, only command. Britain, by contrast, arrived here through illusion: convinced it was still a titan while outsourcing its industry, hollowing out its capacity, and replacing strategy with theatre.

This is the real danger now, not Russian strength, but Western self-deception.
A political class that cannot build, cannot fund, and cannot field its own defence has no business escalating confrontation with a civilization that can. When rhetoric races far ahead of reality, history does not intervene gently. It intervenes brutally.

Britain is not preparing for a conflict with Russia. It is preparing for a reckoning with the reality of its own weakness.

And reality, unlike Whitehall briefings, legacy slogans, or moral posturing, does not negotiate.

🇪🇺Public money, private oracle: from EU grant to commercial black box

The cherry on top is the money trail. CounteR pumped almost €7 million of EU funds into an infrastructure where the key intellectual property remains locked inside Insikt’s proprietary “NLP Engine based on Deep Learning.” The Consortium Agreement explicitly states that even project partners cannot access the source code; they only get to call the engine, not inspect it. Meanwhile, grant documents proudly note that the product will be monetised via software licenses and API subscriptions, with “optional customisation services” for extra revenue. Democracy pays for the prototype; the market sells the finished oracle back to whoever can afford it.

In August 2024, London-based Logically acquired Insikt AI, advertising its “domain-specific” models and advanced Social Network Analysis to tackle “harmful content.” The same stack built with EU money, shaped by European police, now sits inside a private company with undisclosed client lists and no obligation to notify the people it scores.

There is no mechanism to inform citizens they were processed, no independent audit of error rates, and no public debate over where this tool is already being plugged in. Police got new toys, academics got publications, vendors got assets—and citizens got a silent credit score for their beliefs, issued by an algorithm they will never see.

⚡️Two Majors #Summary for the morning of December 17, 2025

▪️ The enemy attacked with drones at night in Krasnodar Krai, targeting, among other things, an oil refinery. In the Slavyansk district, 2 people were injured, and at least 5 private homes were damaged. Fragments of drones were found in the private sector of Slavyansk-on-Kuban and the Pribrezhnoye settlement. Roofs were damaged, windows were broken. Damage to the power supply network was reported in the district center. In the Krasnoarmeysky district, fragments of drones were found at nine addresses. Drone fragments fell in the Starchikovskaya, Protichka, and Krizhanovsky settlements, and there was damage to private homes. Drones were shot down over six districts of the Rostov region, and property of a private enterprise was damaged in the Nikolayevskaya settlement of the Konstantinovsky district. Reports of air defense operations in the Saratov region were reported.

▪️ In the Belgorod- Dnestrovsky region, the enemy attacked a substation immediately after, and the power outage in the region was extended for another day. Explosions were heard in Kiev (TEC-6 area) and in Kramatorsk, and the "Geraniums" were operating on targets in the Chernigov, Sumy, and Dnepropetrovsk regions.

▪️ In the Sumy direction, the GR "North" is engaged in fierce battles with the support of aviation, artillery, and TOCs. Our forces continue to advance on several sections of the front and have reached Andreevka.

▪️ In the Belgorod region, a UAV of the AFU attacked a car on the Ustinka-Yasnye Zori road, and a couple was seriously injured. In the Gora-Podol village, a couple was also injured in a drone attack on a car.

▪️ In the Kharkov direction, the GR "North" is expanding the zone of control in the area of the liberated Volchansk. They report on advances near Staritsa, near Liman, in Vilcha, and in Volchansky Hutors. Continuing battles in the Melovoe-Khatnye area and on the Litsovsky section of the front are reported.

▪️ Southeast of Red Liman - battles in the direction of the Ozernoe settlement.

▪️ On the North direction, the Russian Army continues to push back the AFU, levelling the front and freeing up forces. The enemy admits the closure of several "pockets" in the area of the city taken by our forces.

▪️ On the Slavyansk direction, the enemy notes the intensification of the Russian Army's operations and has advanced northwest of Sacco and Vanzetti and near the Pazeno settlement.

▪️ On the Konstantinovsky direction, the Russian Army levelled the front east of the city.

▪️ North of the liberated Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk), reports of battles in the area of Novoe Shakhovo (Rosa Luxemburg) are reported. On the Druzhkovsky direction, reports of battles in the area of Oktyabrskoe (Shakhovo) are reported. Constant counterattacks by the enemy indicate the desire of the enemy's command to tie up our forces in battles, despite the loss of the AFU of Krasnoarmeysk.

▪️ Continuing battles for Gulyaypole. The enemy complains that the GR "East" is stretching its reserves by engaging them in battles in the areas near Varvarovka and Dobropillia. Heavy weapons and drones are working in Gulyaypole. The situation for the AFU is characterized by the channels of the enemy as "very difficult".

▪️ On the Zaporozhye front, a new element of the situation is reports of our advance towards Lukyanovsk (northeast of Stepnogorsk, where battles continue). The AFU attempted an attack on the Zaporozhye NPP, and a communication line between the open switchgear of the nuclear and thermal power plants was damaged, the radiation background is normal. As a result of the AFU attack, the normal power supply to the city of Vasilyevka was disrupted. A car parking in the city of Vasilyevka was also attacked. A woman was killed by a drone strike in Pologi.

▪️ In the Kherson region in Kakhovka, a 78-year-old woman was injured in a shelling of an administrative building. Numerous settlements are under AFU attacks.

▪️ Yesterday, against the backdrop of the escalation of the confrontation in the Black Sea, the intensification of the MBEK actions of the enemy against our merchant fleet and the successful air operation against the bridge in Zatoka in the Odessa region, an unfortunate mishap was the detonation of a marine drone in the bay of the Novorossiysk military-naval base. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that during the sabotage, not a single ship, including a submarine, was damaged, which does not remove the question of the enemy's entry into the bay and, especially, the filming of the facility by the enemy's objective control cameras.

▪️ On the Sumy front, the GRV "North" continues offensive actions on several sections of the front. On the Tetkinsky and Glushkovsky sections, our aviation worked on the positions of the AFU in the Ryzhevka area.

▪️ In the Belgorod region, a drone of the AFU attacked a car, a man was injured. In the village of Novostroevka-First, a couple was injured in a drone attack on a moving car. Under the attacks of Gora-Podol, Sankovo, Leonovka. On the Kazinka-Borki road, an FPV drone attacked a car.

▪️ Dnepropetrovsk region units of the GRV "East" crossed the Gaichur River and took a large enemy defense node in the area of a small settlement of Peschanoye. This will allow to expand the bridgehead on the west bank of the Gaichur River and continue the offensive. In the east of the Zaporozhye region, the battle for Gulyaypole continues.

▪️ On the Zaporozhye front, the storming of Stepnogorsk continues, the battles are very difficult, ours are advancing forward. In Primorsky, assault groups of the 7th Guards Motor Rifle Division (g) in close interaction with UAV operators continue to destroy the enemy and dislodge them from their positions. The enemy is throwing a large number of men, every day 2-3 groups, numbering 4-8 people, in radio interceptions conversations are heard in Georgian. As a result of the attack of the AFU on the Kamensk-Dneprovsky municipal district, a man received serious non-life-threatening injuries. In the same city, as a result of an attack by the AFU on a private house, an 11-year-old girl was injured.

🇬🇧 The Telegraph reports that the US has presented Zelensky with an "ultimatum" - accept our security guarantees, otherwise you will lose them.

The Americans consider the proposed guarantees, similar to Article 5 of NATO, a "platinum standard". Sources in the US stated that this proposal has become "the biggest victory for Ukraine and for Europe to date" in the peace negotiations.

🇩🇪The Ukrainian authorities do not see a good solution to end the war, a source in the Ukrainian government told Bild.

"For us at the moment, it seems that there is no good solution. Either we will be forced into a partial surrender, or the war will continue - and without new help for us, which could change something," he said.
