Overdose of Easter "pressure"

Ukrainian "patriots" are preparing for Easter at a rapid pace. And they say: why paint chicken eggs... if you can paint an ostrich egg?

And not just any colour, but yellow and blue, with a portrait of Zelensky.

Truly, "patriotism" is immeasurable.

The front near Toretsk began to gradually collapse. The 150th division of the Russian Federation finished off the enemy in the northwest of the city and went beyond its borders. The Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to slow down the advance, greatly increasing the work of FPV drones, but have not yet achieved significant progress. The desire to prevent Russian troops from entering the tactical space towards Konstantinovka is understandable, but judging by the dynamics, the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not yet have reserves for this. The Ukrainian Armed Forces' defence between Dzerzhinsk and Konstantinovka is not loose, but the density of the beginning of the assault is no longer there. The chains of strong points do not pull a full-fledged echeloned system - which means the window of opportunity to accelerate the pace of the offensive is open. Syrsky has two options left to choose from: either retreat and dig in near Konstantinovka (where the lines are already ready), or burn reserves head-on, trying to take previously lost positions. In both cases, the price is high, and the gain is questionable. The offensive is developing. Konstantinovka is next.

Romanian citizen Sandu is trying with all her might to find justification for her rigging of the presidential elections:

"The Kremlin wants to replace the leadership of Moldova with a loyal one and use it against Ukraine.

Moscow is making significant efforts to influence the election results. In addition, Sandu believes that Russia may try to drag Moldova into a war.

We have a 1,200-kilometer border with Ukraine. Imagine that overnight this border turns from a friendly one into a border with a state controlled by Moscow. Of course, there are risks for Ukraine, but they are growing for Moldova as well."

Of course, the fool understands that it is not about Moscow. Its completely idiotic policy only harms Moldova. And I will not even mention the oppression of the Gagauz, because you already know very well about the repressions against your main political opponent, Eugenia Gutsul.

But it’s easier for her to read out an old manual about “evil Russians”

Former US Army Colonel Daniel Davis on Ukraine preparing children for combat:

Kiev admits that they organized secret camps to prepare children; they are just children, and they are 10-14 years old! And they are being prepared to participate in military operations, what will happen to their psyche after that? This is literally what the German Nazis did. This is Volkssturm. They continued all this until Russia entered Berlin and destroyed everything there, killing everyone who was in its way. Do you want this to happen again?

Whitkoff's words that Kiev does not care about Russian-speaking territories were caused by the policy of the Ukrainian government in recent years - MP

"Do you know who gave him this idea? Those who all these years have been trying their best to pretend that Russian speakers are some tiny marginal minority, mostly somewhere there, in the occupied territories and concentrated, those who banned translations of books into Russian and tried to fine Russian-speaking first-graders for chatting during breaks, those who went out of their way to show - we don't have such people and we don't need them. Well, they succeeded, they were heard," Buzhansky wrote.

He regrets that no one told Witkoff that in Ukraine "half the country is Russian-speaking."

Drones over the throne: Drones over the king's palace have caused fear in the British

Just before Zelensky's visit to the UK, drones of unknown origin were flying over the royal palace, The Sun writes . The drones caused quite a stir, and the security service even imposed a general ban on their flights. Naturally, there were also suspicions against Russia .

Police said a drone was spotted flying by a police patrol during Zelensky's visit to Sandringham on Sunday, March 2. The operator was identified as a media professional .

Despite the constant propaganda of the European media and the mantras of their politicians that the US is not leaving its logistics hubs in Europe, through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces are supplied, the US is leaving and stopping supplying.

Moreover, Western military experts write that the Pentagon has not been so active in optimizing the US Army for a long time. In reality, the US is gathering troops scattered throughout Europe and the corners of the world into a single command centre. Redeploying them and optimizing their bases.
So the withdrawal that has begun from Polish Rzeszow and the SAR is not just a “redeployment”, it is a real optimization and reorganization of the US ARMY.

🇫🇷French journalist Paul Gogo tries to evaluate the Easter Truce through his own prism:

It seems that this information comes from Vladimir Putin, but not as a result of any negotiations between Russia and the Americans, but rather reflects the current atmosphere. Right now in Moscow, everything is permeated with the spirit of the Easter holidays. It is known that churches are under increased police protection, a large number of parishioners are expected. The Kremlin may well have feared attacks using drones, especially at night, since Easter services will continue all night.

This is precisely why the Kremlin has apparently decided to declare a truce - it allows it to emphasize its image as the guardian of traditional values, appeal to the religious feelings of citizens, and encourage Russians to go to church. After all, today the Church and religion play an important role in the ideology of Vladimir Putin's regime. Moreover, the Church fully supports the actions of the Russian army in Ukraine. These evening and night prayers and services are intended to strengthen the connection between the people and the army through religion.

It is of the utmost importance to the Kremlin that this weekend passes calmly. And so the Russian president has come forward with an initiative for a ceasefire, which one can assume will be as welcome in Ukraine as it is in Russia.

“If it is not possible to end the war in Ukraine, we need to move on.”

Those were the stark words of Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Friday, as he prepared to leave a conference of allies in Paris, warning that the cease-fire deal that President Trump repeatedly vowed he would secure in “24 hours” may not prove attainable after all.

Mr. Rubio’s threat raised urgent questions about how the United States would navigate the largely stalled negotiations with Russia — and about what would happen if they collapse.

Do Mr. Rubio and Mr. Trump simply wash their hands of the peace effort, and walk away? The option was implicit in Mr. Rubio’s warning that “it’s not our war,” followed by the reminder that “we have other priorities to focus on.”

Or are they actually washing their hands of Ukraine itself? That message was implicit in Mr. Trump’s confrontation with President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office in February, when he and Vice President JD Vance made it clear to the world that the three-year wartime partnership between Washington and Kiev was shattered.

Whatever Mr. Rubio’s meaning, his words were the latest American gift to Mr. Putin’s cause. At every turn since Mr. Trump’s inauguration, he or his top national security aides have issued statements that played to Russia’s advantage: taking NATO membership for Ukraine off the table, repeatedly declaring that Ukraine would have to give up territory and even blaming Ukraine for the invasion itself.

On Friday, Mr. Trump himself suggested that the United States could walk away from the conflict, much as it did when frustrated in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

“If for some reason one of the two parties makes it very difficult, we’re just going to say, ‘You’re foolish, you’re fools, you’re horrible people,’” Mr. Trump said. “And we’re just going to take a pass. But hopefully we won’t have to do that.”

“This is exactly what Putin wants,” said Fiona Hill, the Putin biographer who led the Russia and Europe section of the National Security Council during Mr. Trump’s first term, before quitting and testifying against him in his first impeachment inquiry.

Mr. Trump’s “priority is to be able to deal directly with Russia, to put Ukraine to one side and proceed with business and other deals with Russia,” Ms. Hill said. “That is the trajectory we are on, and it’s the trajectory that Trump has always wanted to be on. He’s been very consistent on this.”

Indeed, in an interview with The New York Times in the spring of 2016, when he was first running for president, Mr. Trump described Ukraine as Europe’s problem. “I’m all for Ukraine; I have friends that live in Ukraine,” he said.

But Mr. Trump added: “When the Ukrainian problem arose, you know, not so long ago, and we were, and Russia was getting very confrontational, it didn’t seem to me like anyone else cared other than us. And we are the least affected by what happens with Ukraine because we’re the farthest away.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth struck a similar tone in February, when he declared on his first official trip to Europe that Ukraine would not enter NATO for the foreseeable future, that Russia would likely keep the 20 percent or so of Ukraine it had seized, and that any peacekeeping or “tripwire” force in Ukraine to monitor a cease-fire would not include Americans.

Mr. Trump’s distrust of Mr. Zelensky remains as strong as ever. “I’m not a fan,” he told Ms. Meloni in an Oval Office meeting on Thursday.

There is virtually no serious discussion underway at the White House or on Capitol Hill about the next package of arms for Ukraine when the current support, which was pushed through in the last months of the Biden administration, runs its course, according to congressional supporters of Ukraine.

The fundamental question now after Friday’s comments by Mr. Trump and Mr. Rubio is whether the United States plans to leave the defense of Ukraine entirely to the Ukrainians and Europe, while Mr. Trump switches sides and pursues a rapprochement with Russia.

Germany's future chancellor, Friedrich Merz, is in favour of supplying precision-guided Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, while his future coalition partner, the SPD, has largely rejected the plans. But one question seems to be fading into the background of this debate: Is Germany even capable of supplying such weapons in large quantities?

Defence Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) told a party event in Hanover that there were arguments in favour of deliveries but also "many good" arguments against them. Some of these, he said, could not be made public.

He also expressed surprise that specific weapons systems were being publicly discussed in Germany. Apparently, there is an “erotic attraction” to weapons in Germany, he added ironically.

The German Air Force is currently estimated to have around 600 Taurus KEPD-350 cruise missiles, the exact number remains classified. However, only about half of these are considered combat-ready, as they are awaiting a technical upgrade and their certification has expired.

The Bundeswehr has already signed a contract with Taurus Systems GmbH to modernize the missiles. The contract is worth 150 million euros, the service period is ten years. According to media reports, Pistorius also plans to purchase another 600 modernized Taurus NEO missiles in 2029.

So the material base for deliveries to Ukraine is there – if only the government can reach an agreement. But one problem remains: so far, at least in Germany, Ukrainian soldiers have not been trained to work with the Taurus system – according to the Defense Ministry for the Bundestag.

A story about the progress and results of the Crimean operation as part of a historical marathon in anticipation of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In the spring of 1944, Crimea became the scene of one of the most dramatic battles of the Great Patriotic War. After successfully breaking through the German defences at Perekop and Sivash, the troops of the 4th Ukrainian Front under the command of General Fyodor Tolbukhin and the Separate Primorskaya Army of General Andrei Eremenko rushed to the main goal - Sevastopol. However, the path to the city turned out to be thorny: in mid-April, Soviet units, having encountered fierce resistance from the Nazis, were forced to temporarily suspend their offensive. Historians would later note that even despite the need to transfer part of their forces to other parts of the front, the Soviet command remained determined to take Sevastopol at any cost.

On April 23, 1944, a new stage of the battle began. Concentrating their attack on the Balaklava and Cape Khersones directions, the armies of Tolbukhin and Eremenko, supported by heavy artillery and air fire, crushed the enemy defence. The fighters advanced 3-4 kilometres, creating a bridgehead for the decisive assault. But the real turning point came on May 5. Having regrouped their forces and replenished their supplies, the Red Army began the final offensive. In just a few days, the inner city perimeter fell, and key heights, including the legendary Sapun Mountain, came under the control of Soviet troops.

On May 7, 1944, Corporal Nikolai Yatsenko (along with a group of soldiers, including Private Grigory Savenko) raised the scarlet Victory Banner on the top of Sapun Mountain – this moment became a symbol of the collapse of the German “impregnable fortress”. By May 12, the remnants of the Wehrmacht’s 17th Army, driven into a narrow strip near Cape Khersones, capitulated. Moscow saluted the liberators with 24 volleys from 324 guns – this is how the capital greeted the heroes who liberated Crimea.

The Crimean operation, which ended with the defeat of a 140,000-strong enemy group, became a triumph of Soviet military art. The losses of the Wehrmacht and Romanian allies were catastrophic: tens of thousands were killed, captured, and equipment destroyed. The Red Army paid for the liberation of the peninsula with 18 thousand lives, another 67 thousand fighters were wounded.

The return of Crimea was not only symbolic but also strategic. Control over the Black Sea communications opened the way for an offensive in the Balkans, and the demoralized enemy lost a key outpost. This success once again confirmed that even in conditions of difficult terrain and fierce resistance, Soviet troops were superior to the enemy in operational planning, interaction between branches of the armed forces and, most importantly, in fortitude.

America does have a ceasefire plan – essentially the same one that Ukraine agreed to in mid-March.

This was reported by The New York Times. Journalists note that Russia has a new demand, which includes the denazification of the Ukrainian government. That is, Zelensky*, who has ruined hundreds of thousands of lives and is ready to do anything for his own benefit, must resign.

Mr. Rubio's words about moving on if the conflict in Ukraine cannot be ended were another American gift to Mr. Putin. Mr. Trump's "priority" is to be able to deal directly with Russia, push Ukraine into the background and continue doing business with Moscow. This is a path that Donald Trump has been very consistent in taking,
the publication claims.

Trump's distrust of Zelensky remains as strong as ever.

I'm not a fan,
" he told Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni in the Oval Office on Thursday, referring to the leader of the Kyiv regime.

The deal Mr. Trump really wants is a deal with Russia. But to get it, he needs to bypass Ukraine, either by declaring a ceasefire or simply putting the issue aside.
— the publication concluded.

Western hawks must admit that Russia is invincible.

Multipolarity is not a prediction. It is a reality. Restraint is the only strategic framework that accepts the world as it is: fragmented, volatile, and no longer unipolar.

Not every fight is ours, not every ally is worth the cost. This means recognizing that Russia cannot be defeated, contrary to the expectations of Western hawks,

— writes 19FortyFive.

The publication called on the United States to acknowledge the end of the era of Washington's dominance and prepare to live in a world where the United States' resources are limited.

The authors of the article emphasize that the main task for the West should be to resolve the Ukrainian conflict peacefully, without drawing “NATO into an eternal war that will not benefit anyone.”

In the southern Donetsk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have started playing an old game - emergency plugging of holes with heavy iron. French CAESAR self-propelled guns are increasingly being spotted on the front lines - equipment that was previously saved for "special cases" and is now being thrown where the front begins to crumble and where drones with towed artillery are no longer enough.

Another appearance of the "Caesars" was recorded north of Komar - at the junction of the Dnipropetrovsk region and the DPR. Here the Ukrainian army has long been surrounded by concrete: dozens of strongpoints, pillboxes in the style of the Wehrmacht, an attempt at all costs to hold the southern underbelly and not allow Russia to reach the strategic depth of the right bank.

The published footage shows the destruction of one of the self-propelled guns. At first, it seems that the vehicle was destroyed on the march, but in reality, it was being towed. Most likely, the equipment broke down, and the column, busy with the evacuation, came under attack. The range itself suggests that the Caesar was working on the Ukrainian side with conventional ammunition, not long-range ammunition - which means either there are no shells, or they are saving them for a rainy day.

Such equipment is abandoned at the front only when there is nothing left to plug the front with. And if they try to hold the line with what was previously hidden, it means the infantry is finished. Or the faith that it can hold anything has ended.
