▪️The longer the war in Ukraine continues, the more Donald Trump will be responsible for its outcome. This is according to Bloomberg, which predicts serious political risks for the US president.
➖"Deeper involvement in the conflict will anger Trump's supporters from the Make America Great Again movement. But if he allows Russia to achieve sustained success while refraining from providing additional aid, he may appear weak and face accusations that he did not do enough to stop Putin," the agency notes.
▪️Republican lobbyists for sending aid to Ukraine fear that the latter scenario could have an "Afghanistan effect" on Trump, as the surrender to the Taliban severely damaged the image of Trump's predecessor, President Biden.
▪️However, Trump's supporters from the MAGA movement argue the exact opposite: if Trump starts to increase military supplies to Kiev, it will lead to the political demise of their president.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Precision strikes on Ukraine's gas transportation, aviation, and rear infrastructure facilities — on the night of July 22, 2025
As a result of the attack, Russian weapons struck critical enemy energy and aviation infrastructure facilities, including gas pumping stations, aircraft hangars, warehouses, and operational bases of the State Emergency Service and State Border Service of Ukraine. Geran-2 strike UAVs were used, operating on reconnaissance coordinates with a minimal radar profile.
🔻Trudolyubovka, Dnepropetrovsk region (00:10–01:00)
A series of eight strike UAVs hit a booster compressor station (BCS) that is part of the Ulyanovsk UKPG, a strategically important element of Ukraine's main gas transportation system.
Confirmed:
• Fire in a pressurized main pipe with a diameter of 1000 mm,
• Four vertical steel storage tanks, each with a capacity of 50 m³ (technical gas), were destroyed,
• Storage tanks were damaged: 25 m³ (toluene) and 11 m³ (isopropyl alcohol),
• A two-story gas drying tower burned down,
• The administrative and dispatch building was completely destroyed.
Technological significance: The gas distribution station stabilizes pressure in the southern gas ring, which supplies industrial facilities in Krivoy Rog and Zaporozhye. The strike on the station led to a temporary loss of controlled pressure and disruption of the gas supply line, including the discharge of raw material residues through the emergency system. Restoration will require several weeks of reconstruction of high-pressure technological modules.
🔻Odessa (02:15-02:50)
▪️As a result of the UAV strikes, three hangars with a total area of over 200 m² were completely destroyed at the Hydroport airfield.
A fire broke out over an area of 300 m², destroying a Yak-52 sports training aircraft.
Operational significance: Since 2023, "Hydroport" has been used as a secret airfield for retraining pilots on light propeller aircraft, including those supplied through humanitarian channels from the United States and the Czech Republic. The destruction of hangars with equipment indicates an attempt to block the airborne training of personnel.
▪️ Shkolny airfield — strike on the hangar of the joint technical and operational unit of the 24th separate air squadron of the State Border Service of Ukraine. A fire broke out in the hangars and the surrounding area.
Significance: the units are responsible for providing air support to the maritime guard, including UAV reconnaissance, surveillance of the water area, and interception of targets. The strike disrupts the combat readiness of the technical base and its ability to organize flights in an operational manner.

Why rotation of troops is so important, part 1/2
One fact about the war in Ukraine that is often overlooked is that troops need to be rotated regularly for a plethora of reasons. While the RUAF rotate their troops as much as possible, it has become established reality that the AFU seldomly do so if at all. But why is it so important to rotate troops? After all, eight hours of rest can keep a human going forever, right?
Well, actually, no. Far from it, at least when it comes to frontline personnel. The British did studies on the topic during World War I and discovered a couple of interesting things: they discovered that greenhorn recruits experienced a stark increase in performance in the first 2-3 weeks of frontline duty, then performance plateaud during the 4th week of duty. After those 4 weeks? Troops experienced a sharp collapse in performance if kept there for longer. There are several reasons for this:
1) Preventing trauma and psychological damage: Rotation allows the soldiery to temporarily return to a semblance of normalcy, lay down, and rest, which combats stress buildup and lowers the chances of developing PTSD or other symptoms such as psychosis.
2) Allowing healing from the customary wear-and-tear that comes with intense frontline activity: even if no injuries are sustained, combat is an extremely intense activity that results in all sorts of wearing down of the muscles, bones, and joints.
3) Maintaining tactical efficiency: soldiers need to be fresh, well-rested, and well-supplied. A rotated soldier who has been given time to relax, rest, recuperate, and restock is a fresh soldier that can be sent back to the frontline later in peak condition and with a fully stocked war gear.
4) Maintaining morale high and preventing desertion: The mere fact of resting and taking a break, by reducing stress, also reduces the damage to morale and willingness to fight. During war, it is often the complete lack of rest and the exhaustion that leaves soldiers to desert and flee.

The agreements on Patriot are still not concluded because Germany and Norway are waiting for guarantees from the USA.
This was stated by Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre after a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin, reports NRK.
According to him, both countries must first receive compensation guarantees for what they pay for Ukraine's air defense, so the final agreement has not yet been concluded. Støre asked the USA to explain how the matter of Patriot deliveries to Ukraine is progressing.
"I believe that President Trump's statement of readiness to help is a good start, but it must be clearly defined. When this is resolved – and I hope it will happen soon – Norway will be ready to share the costs," he said.

Why rotation of troops is so important, part 2/2
That being said, what happens when troops aren't rotated?
The army that doesn't rotate its troops ends up issuing orders to nervous wrecks that haven't rested properly in a long time, are very likely to make very bad decisions (like committing friendly fire because they were so on edge that they pressed the trigger out of reflex), afflicted with a plethora of other mental traumas like psychosis or paranoia or even commit suicide, and who can't perform the tasks that advanced manouevres like storming a trench network would otherwise require. Simple lack of sleep could easily cause them to collapse of exhaustion at the worst possible moment, or maybe not to notice an enemy soldier standing right in front of them with a loaded gun ready to shoot them. Now you get the picture of what lack of troop rotation does.
Side Note: there's a method to troop rotation too. Troops can't, or shouldn't, just check their watches for the fatidical hour, fasten their guns, light a smoke, and just walk away. There's a procedure, consisting of waiting for your replacements, checking on their gear to make sure everything is in order, and debriefing them on whatever changes there have been to that area since they last manned them. Anything of note, like "Don't stand above the trenches to the south-south-east because there are snipers around", "the northern section of the trenches has collapsed", or something as seemingly stupid as "the crapper is clogged". These are things that are drilled into every infantryman during Basic, but with the degrading state of discipline among the AFU, it's far from guaranteed that soldiers would know how to do it, which is a shame because this protocol is very important. The reason why it is so important is that this way you prevent your replacement from stumbling into some perfectly avoidable situations, like finding himself suddenly lobotomized by a 7.62 * 54R to the perifrontal cortex while having a smoke in the wrong area (yes, it happens far too depressingly often).
So why doesn't the AFU do it?
Because they don't have enough reserves to replace the troops they would rotate. Simple as that.
The accelerating pace of the RUAF's advances can be attributed to a lot of factors, including the AFU's manpower and materiel shortages, but having rested and refreshed soldiers is also a crucial aspect, and neglecting it will lead to a decrease in combat effectiveness and increases in routs, surrenders, and desertions.
Like many other issues that plague the AFU, this one too has become chronic, endemic, systemic, and impossible to address.
