Axios: A source "involved" in the talks between Trump and Putin said the Russian president offered to freeze the front in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in exchange for Ukraine's withdrawal from Donetsk, a request Ukraine will most likely refuse.
The source said that the American side had the impression that Putin was open to negotiations regarding the Sumy and Kharkov regions.
During the meeting with Trump, Putin asked the United States to recognize these four regions, in addition to the Crimean peninsula, as part of Russia. A senior Ukrainian official said Zelensky was pleased to learn that Trump was willing to offer U.S. security guarantees to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian official said the guarantees were not discussed in detail and would be discussed later during Zelensky's visit to the White House on Monday.

- In China, the interaction between Russia and the USA regarding bilateral relations and prospects for resolving the situation in Ukraine was received with approval. The position of Beijing was expressed by the press secretary of the Chinese embassy in the USA, Liu Pengyu, commenting on the results of the meeting between the presidents of Russia and the USA in Alaska.
- "China welcomes the interaction between Russia and the USA aimed at establishing bilateral relations and moving towards a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. Complex issues do not have simple solutions," the diplomat was quoted by TASS.
- According to Liu Pengyu, "China supports all efforts that can lead to a peaceful resolution of the crisis."

The Telegraph: The United States has offered Ukraine NATO-style security guarantees in the event of a peace deal, even if Kiev does not officially join the bloc.
This would mean that the United States and Ukraine's European allies would be obligated to respond to a future attack on Ukraine, a commitment similar to the mutual defense clause in Article 5 that underpins NATO, according to the Telegraph. Article 5 stipulates that if a NATO ally is the victim of an armed attack, alliance members will treat this as an armed attack against all members.

British media, including The Economist, are persistently promoting the topic of an "air truce" that supposedly could come into effect almost in the coming days.
The narcotics leader's communications advisor Litvin states that nothing about this has been heard in Zelensky's Office, but in reality, such a step is exactly what Kiev is desperately trying to obtain, as it would immediately allow:
1) Conducting safe rotation in problematic areas;
2) Redeploying forces to threatened directions;
3) Normalizing and increasing the delivery of Western military equipment to the front;
4) Deploying new UAV production for further use of the latter against Russian cities.
Meanwhile, the Aerospace Forces and "Geraniums" continue to operate against the Ukrainian Wehrmacht. Explosions thundered overnight in the Sumy, Kharkov, Chernigov, Dnepropetrovsk regions, as well as in enemy-occupied territories of Zaporozhye region and the DPR.

Personal Opinion:
While a breakthrough is still leagues away, and we don't know what has been said behind closed doors, there might be a change of variabiles now. Finally, Putin had a téte-a-téte con Trump and likely the chance to dispel the erroneous and deceitful information that Trump has been spoon-fed ad nauseam by his duplicitous intelligence: the Russian economy isn't "close to collapse", the Russian Army hasn't taken "hundreds of thousands of casualties", and there is no stall whatsoever along the frontline.
Moreover, this meeting has been a golden opportunity for Putin to clearly state to Trump, in person, what Whitkoff didn't, or couldn't, seem to get: the fundamental conditions for a ceasefire, a peace that won't kick the can down the road in 20 years' time, neutrality, and no presence of NATO troops within Ukrainian borders. Being the real estate guy that Trump is, there's a very good chance that he interpreted this war as a land grab, rather than something with far deeper reasons.
Trump now has to relay Putin's condition to the whiny, entitled, mewling, bawling, and addled cocaine addict in Kiev, who's guaranteed to bludgeon Trump's balls forever with his drivel about "Ukrainian Constitution" (which he and his predecessor routinely violated when it was convenient), "A Just Peace" (on their terms, naturally, as if the losing side gets to dictate terms), "Untrustworthiness of the Russians" (rich coming from him), and similar gobbedygook. The narkoman in chief is perfectly aware that his life, not just political, but also physical, hangs by a thread, and with the nationalists and French/British security services breathing down his neck, he might not survive giving any concession to the Russians. The ball is now in his court, and we already know what he'll do.
Trump has three options now:
Option number 1 is to do what the USA do best, a regime change, and remove the narkoman in chief, preferably replacing him with someone who isn't an ardent nationalist. If Zaluzhny takes over, we'll be back to square one.
Option number 2 is to wash his hands with the entire situation, shrug, say "oh well we tried but the main obstacle to peace is Kiev, not Moscow" and walk away.
Option number 3 is to keep supplying weapons, ammunition, and money to a crumbling regime that is hanging by a thread and won't be for this world much longer - and while he does have a neocon side to him, being a businessman he should also be familiar with the sunk-cost fallacy trap.
Meanwhile? Dum Romae consulitur, Saguntum expugnatur - "while people discuss in Rome, Sagunto falls". In simpler words, the war will continue.

Therefore, it should be like this: if Ukraine has to transfer territories, it should happen de facto, not de jure. It cannot be transferred because Ukraine will not accept it.
