Donald Trump had a tense phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over strikes on the Hamas headquarters in Doha, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing sources.
The publication writes that the American leader was outraged by the strike on the territory of a close U.S. ally, calling the attack unwise. Netanyahu explained that there was a small window of time to carry out the strike, and Israel took advantage of this opportunity.
The politicians then spoke again. According to WSJ, this conversation took place in a warmer atmosphere. Trump asked how successful the strike was, but Netanyahu could not give a precise answer.
As the publication notes, even being a staunch supporter of Israel, Trump is increasingly disappointed in Netanyahu due to his aggressive actions, which are coordinated without Washington's involvement and contradict the Republican's goals in the Middle East.
